Sammie D.

Came into Style Salon seeking a cut and color. I brought in a reference photo and showed it to Danny and let him know I really wanted a dark root and for the blonde to melt into the ends of the hair, he agreed and I also told him for the cut I want it layered similar to the photo. He said he was going to bring some pieces to the top and I assumed he meant in the front so I said okay. Through out the foiling process he kept speaking with the other hair dresser in their language and it seemed like she was guiding him through it which made me uneasy. Also, he grabs a brush from his drawer, pulls hairs out of it and then proceeded to brush my hair... EW!!! After washing out the bleach and dye I instantly knew this is not what I wanted. I told him how I was unhappy with how highlighted it looked and how it was brought up all the way to the root which I didn't want and there's no darkness to the roots. Immediately the other hairdresser switches with him and begins to do a smudge root. She then takes me to the bowl, washes out the root, tells me she's going to do a deep condition and leaves me there for 25 minutes. Danny then takes me back to the chair, cuts and blow dried my hair. He left my roots wet and the whole back of my shirt was soaked. It was so uncomfortable and so sad to walk out of that salon with a head of hair I'm not proud to wear. I explained to him how I was unhappy with my hair and how it looked NOTHING like the inspiration photo & all he said was he thought he could do it. Very unhappy with my hair and will not be returning to this establishment.

What I requested. Instead she died my entire hair black. I never even said the word black.

Kindness could improve. I requested highlights. Elaine die my entire hair black. I was her client for many years. Always gave her good tips. She is always late and I never complain. One time she was worried about her son and she was in the middle of doing my hair. I said she could leave and do it some other time. I misunderstood the text she sent to me regarding the schedule. Today, I ran late for 15 minutes. I had an accident...well when I got there she said: " Sorry, let I return your money. I have stressed to deal with time and hair color ". I copy and paste her words. She did return my money. To fix her mistake it will take me twice as much money and time. I was considered to Elaine, but sometimes people don't care about others.

So many choices!

I have gone to style salon for my hair for some time now. It is hard to find, but so worth it! They have prices that are very reasonable and they do excellent work. They work quickly and efficiently. I am very picky about my hair and I think they do an amazing job! It doesn't matter if Tom does it or Vicky. They are professional and do high and work, for prices that have clients going there for 13+ years.

This is months late, but thank you so much, Chanti, for making me feel glam for my wedding day! I don't frequent hair salons, as I go cheap and use Nice & Easy to color my gray. For my big day, I thought I should let a pro color my hair. Without taking me to the bank, she trimmed my locks and gave me gorgeous highlights! Thanks again, Chanti!

Do not go here ! The salon lady just kicked me out just because I said I wanted a haircut!

I would give this salon a one star rating . i came in for a haircut and made an appointment. she didn't like how I switched to a haircut while she was cutting my hair. She washed my hair and then asked me to leave. I believe her name was Vicky. The worst place to get a haircut !!! Never go there !!

To step across the threshold of Studio O on 2nd Street in Long Beach is not merely to enter a…read moresalon, but to be inducted into a sanctum of aesthetic excellence where the very air seems to shimmer with the promise of transformation and the pursuit of beauty is elevated to a high art form. It was with a sense of profound destiny that I first discovered this hidden gem, drawn in by the enigmatic and stylish exterior that sports the magnificent letter "O"--a symbol that I have since come to realize stands not just for Oscar, the proprietor of this fine establishment, but for the "Outstanding," the "Overwhelming," and the "Otherworldly" delight that awaits within. From the moment I first engaged the services of the miraculous Cathy, a true virtuoso of the shears who seems to possess the telepathic ability to discern one's innermost hair desires before they are even spoken, I was irrevocably hooked on a level of service that far surpasses the sterile pretension of even the most prestigious salons in Beverly Hills. My hair, which is a formidable and unruly entity characterized by a thickness and coarseness that would daunt a lesser stylist, is here tamed and coaxed into a state of sublime magnificence through the technical wizardry and tender manipulation of the entire team, resulting in a masterpiece that I am proud to wear upon my head each time I depart. But the magic of Studio O extends far beyond the cut and color; it is an immersive sensory experience where one is enveloped in warmth from the moment of arrival, greeted not as a customer but as a long-lost companion by Oscar and his talented cadre of artists. The interior is a feast for the eyes, boasting captivating wallpaper and a revolving art gallery that stimulates the mind as thoroughly as the ergonomic comfort of the shampoo bowls soothes the body, while the aromatic scents in the restroom and the offering of exquisite coffee drinks cater to one's every comfort

I was…read morenervous about trying a new stylist, but Michelle and her sweet assistant, Cali, made me feel so welcome. Michelle is a great communicator and a true educator. She took the time to truly listen to what I wanted, asked about my current routine, and discussed my hair concerns--what works and what doesn't. What really impressed me was how educational the experience was. While blow-drying my hair, Michelle explained what she was doing and why, giving me the confidence to recreate the look at home. I walked out with a fantastic cut, affirmation on the products I'm already using, and a recommendation for one new product that is going to be a game-changer for my naturally silver hair. Overall, a phenomenal first visit--I've already booked my next appointment!

I really wanted to like this salon. It is beautiful, they carry great products, and the appointment…read morestarted well. I booked online for $270 to get my roots done. No cut, just roots. At checkout, the total was almost $400 because of add-ons I was never told would cost extra. I had called ahead specifically to ask if they use Olaplex and was told yes. My stylist chose to use K18 instead. K18 and Olaplex can be used together, but she used K18 only, then I learned at checkout that I had also been charged extra for it. I was also charged $72 for a root shadow/smudge without being told beforehand. A root smudge takes a few minutes to apply and uses only a few dollars worth of demi-permanent color. I have never been charged separately like this at another salon. If a service is going to add that much to an advertised price, clients should be told and given the choice before it is performed. The communication was what really bothered me. When I asked why my temples were still dark after being highlighted, I was told I had waited too long between appointments, even though this was virgin regrowth and around when I normally get my hair done. Then when I questioned how a $270 appointment became almost $400, the receptionist told me that next time I should discuss pricing with my stylist beforehand. That was especially frustrating because I had talked to the salon. I booked a service with a listed price and called ahead with questions. So it wasn't great being told I should have done... what I did. In order for them not to take advantage? There was also a lot of upselling. My stylist kept recommending K18 products and an Oribe product, which I already use Oribe. When the Oribe product she recommended was out of stock, she suggested a completely different Oribe product instead, one I already knew does not work for my hair. That made the recommendations feel more sales-driven than like care. And after almost $400, I still have visible roots, dark temples, and a demarcation line. I asked for a neutral to warm blonde and specifically said I did not want cool or gray tones, but the new growth was toned noticeably cooler than the rest of my hair. After washing it, the few new highlights at the top also felt rough and I noticed some breakage. This is exactly why I had called ahead about Olaplex. Even with K18 and bleach with built in bond reconstructing you still need a bond reconstructor with bleach or hair gets rough in a few washes, I've been through this before and can literally tell lol. Felt fine out of the salon, one wash in, better than with raw bleach but definitely worse than with a bond reconstructor. K18 works differently, it's not enough on its own. Especially with one application. Practical note for anyone booking: parking is street-only. The meter app was not working when I went, and my stylist was actually really nice and ran out with my card to try to pay the meter for me. Unfortunately, I had already gotten a ticket within about 20 minutes. There is some free street parking farther back, but it is limited, so I would arrive early and look for that first. The photos are from the day of the appointment. My hair was styled nicely and they did not destroy it, so 2 stars, and everyone has an off day. But between the result, undisclosed charges, upselling, and the way concerns were turned back on me, I would not return.

BFFR Period…read morepoint blank I have made time out of my days to commit to our appointments and the first time I did have to change the appointment I stated IF SHE CANT ITS FINE WE CAN STICK TO ORIGINAL, no biggie I can make the original, and then she cancels like bruh we could have stuck to the original & then I couldn't say yes to appointments offered the following day or week because: 1. I had a flight the next day like at 6am 2. when I return I go back to school Mon- Thurs literally 10am -3:30pm and then 6:30pm-9 3. I work 14 hour shifts Fri- Sunday . Not once did she offer if I'd like another stylist , not once did she offer a real accommodation . Let's be real and hold accountability , because this second cancel the day of appointments, messaging me hours before on IG asking to move my appointment earlier to then canceling is WILD . Original : I know the stylists have their own way of booking or dealing with affairs apart of the salon but I think it's wild they have a rebooking fee of over $30 if client has to reschedule last minute their appointments BUT when I get my appointment canceled TWICE by the stylist ON THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT , due to "family emergencies" that apparently always happen. I think it's wild that a stylist can waste a clients time and day considering the first time it was canceled I had planned to get my hair cut before my birthday trip and today it got canceled I had just told my boss no to coming in for a shift because of my scheduled appointment ... what do we clients get in return besides wasted time and lost money ? At least she returned my $20 deposit that has been kept since August but damn , homegirl really needs to take care of home before taking appointments , we have a life out here too.
