We visited Style Bath and Kitchen to pick out everything we would need for our bathroom remodel. I was hoping that this would be a one stop shop where we could find great options for everything we needed, and I am happy to report it was that and more! I was a little overwhelmed at first with all of the details and decisions that go into a bathroom, but with Heather's help, my stress quickly disappeared. Heather walked us around the showroom, helping us make decisions one by one on all of the components of our bathroom. She helped us pick out our shower accessories, bathtub, vanity, countertop, toilet, and sink faucet. Throughout the few months up to our bathroom remodel, we changed our minds on several items, and she was always so patient and helpful in updating our selections and making suggestions. I think what sets SBK apart is their professionalism and top notch customer service. When you visit, you will not just be left wandering around aimlessly becoming confused about what to select. You will be guided and helped throughout the whole process and I cannot thank Heather enough for her guidance. Wow, Style Bath and Kitchen is amazing! After reading fantastic reviews on Yelp, I decided that this was the showroom to visit. They have a fantastic selection of products including the cool shower room, where you can see the water pressure from a selection of shower heads. What a great idea and this really does demonstrate how the shower heads work. What really sets Style apart is the stellar service and product knowledge that we received from Mike. This was the first project that we have had a need to choose fixtures and Mike spent a great deal of time explaining the pros and cons of different products and brands. He is well-versed in all of the products that he sells and is very patient. Mike does not try to push any one product and he helps you figure out what would work best on your project. I've gone here for several projects - both for my own home and as a designer. We ordered a sink many years ago that had fabrication issues from the manufacturer and the owner Gretchen could not have been more accommodating about getting the manufacturer to refund and return our sink that was broken. A year or two later when I returned for a client she remembered me and helped me with another project. I have continued to return here and absolutely love her and her husband Mike. We have been to nearly every store in the bay area and had to deal with attitude, flakiness, rudeness, and way too expensive choices until we happened upon Mike at Style Bath and Kitchen. Since our meeting, we have exchanged well over three hundred emails, and gone over every detail possible for our project. Their selections are fantastic and actually affordable. Mike's knowledge of the products is mind blowing, and his ability to understand our tastes shows his talent for this profession. We had a major remodel and home addition project that involved a complete kitchen and bath redo and the addition of a masters bath among many other improvements. Working with Gretchen at SBK was a major "sigh of relief" - the one person/business we could count on throughout a stressful 6 month project. She worked with us from start to finish from design, selection of product and finishes, ordering, and even helping us through issues we had with a subcontractor (not affiliated with her). We are extremely pleased and friends are already commenting on how wonderful it all looks.I'd recommend them to friends and family. * PROCESS: There was no pressure, she worked with and met our budget, developed the design and met with us as needed, and walked us through the entire process. She zeroed in on our style very quickly and helped us to consider various design and color issues, helping us balance our desires and needs and budget. * DETAIL: She asked us all the questions we weren't thinking about but we're important details later on. She even caught and flagged a measurement issue with our approved architectural plans based on her in home measurements! * COSTS: She carries good, high quality items in her store and also has many vendors she works with to order items not on display. Her prices are actually very reasonable and in a lot of cases either better than other local stores and competitive with online prices. (Plus they are family owned and local). It actually turned out to be lot more efficient to order from her as well. * SERVICE: absolutely phenomenal. Felt well cared for throughout. She was always available to answer the little questions that came up. She came out to the house when our cabinets were delivered to check them, help make sure everything came in, there were no scratches, and to label them according to the plans to avoid installation errors. Everything was perfect. Plus when we had problems with a subcontractor, leading to numerous additional rush orders, she always got back to me very quickly and was understanding. Can't say enough. I was reluctant to stop here because I was only looking for a towel ring but Mike was both interested and helpful in finding just the right one (I was trying to avoid the same-o Home Depot type stuff). This is a local family owned business and they could not be more customer service oriented. No project too small. KSB was forced on me by my architect, because he claimed I would never have a problem with an order. That they were straignt forward and a pleasure to deal with. Missing parts would be resolved quickly and painlessly. So Although I found my list of items elsewhere for an aggregate of at least 15% I was told to go with Mike and Gretchen because they are a class act. Not so. They do not have a real business acumen. I was missing parts and pieces in my order and instead of working to resolve it, they absolved themselves of responsibility. It cost me $5000.00 extra to go with them so I wouldn't have issues and as soon as issues perked up, they were heading for the exits and absolving themselves of responsibilty. I took my medicine and gave them any opportunity to rectify. They even had an opportunity to do the right thing later when my architect asked for a few more pieces and a bid on the missing parts, instead of discounting the bid for the parts in question and they would still be above cost, they tried to charge me full retail on all. In fact on one missing part, they were ordering a whole unit and just giving us a part out of it, but charging for the whole unit. you could buy the whole unit anywhere else for 40% less. Wow, and Mike's final answer was take it up with my attorney. CLASS ACT.... He bullied me to pay earlier by claiming price increases that as far as I can see never happened. Told me that they never discount on plumbing parts or companies and I have seen a few of those. I made I mistake, I hope many can learn a lesson from me, but don't let the charm fool you, BUYER BEWARE. You are not getting extra service for the money you are spending. GOOD LUCK YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Now when you see his response, insulting me and calling me dishonest. I like that one, since he got paid every cent for product that was not delivered. That should tell you something about the man, insulting clients who he screwed by not delivering product. Every effort he attempted was to charge me twice for missing products, when my only recourse, until I take him to court, was to warn people. He attacked calling me dishonest...let's see he has my $30,000.00 and I am missing product. That should tell you something about the businessman he is. He stole and calls me dishonest. Says treat people as you wish to be treated. I never dealt with the man until after he screwed me, like I said my architect is his pawn... I hope my architect has the smarts to pull his future projects from him. He has all ready lost 3 from the contractor. A shortsighted man he is and i was polite and patient and gave him every opportunity, but he considers himself a greater being. So without me firing tacky insults as this lowlife of a businessman..... BUYER BEWARE... he is attacking because I wouldn't pay him twice for product and I am going to take him to court to try to gain some recourse and teach this thieve that he can't get away with it. If you go this way, I hope you won't reply one day and say I knew I shouldn't listened to you.... where there is smoke there is fire. Tactics... he will try to pry you to pay early with supposed discounts. He will claim manufacturers raising prices to get you to give him money...His is loaded with ploys and will act as a friend....TRUST ME I have your back... sure... Our beautiful retro "Big Chill" refrigerator was installed today! It matches our vintage wedge wood stove perfectly! Style Bath and Kitchen are the only NorCal dealers. We drove from San Francisco to place our order instead of ordering online and are so glad we did. We had a few issues with the delivery company and the team at Style were able to act as intermediaries and resolved everything to our complete satisfaction. Gretchen designed our laundry/bath and multi-use room remodel, solving multiple issues creatively and listening carefully to our needs. She shepherded us through the project with skill and incredible patience, offering suggestions and guidance and listening carefully to our preferences. I'm a high-maintenance client and she never let me down, responding immediately to every one of my dozens of emails, reassuring me when we ran into problems with our contractor and running interference with suppliers. Absolutely stellar customer service from Mike F. We were at the end of a 3-month kitchen remodel that was being dragged out by TWO sinks kohl sinks that were delivered through home depot and amazon that were BOTH chipped in the same place!! This snafu was holding up our entire remodel and because of it, we were stuck in renovation hell. Most stores didn't have any apron front sinks in stock and because it was labor day weekend, nobody was even open. I sent out a desperate email to every kitchen store in the east bay and Mike got back to me right away and let me know that even though it was a holiday weekend, he could get me my sink in 2 days. He called me that morning first thing to let me know it had arrived. Unfortunately, that particular sink was not right due to the size (totally my fault) and I was scared to let him know because he had gone through all that trouble. But he was shockingly not upset or aggressive at all and his kind and understanding demeanor was so refreshing and rare for sales people these days. I wish I would have known about this place before I went through all of the trouble with amazon and home depot and I will definitely be coming back. Thanks Mike! read more
