Second, she knows her job well. After communicating with her what I wanted, she went ahead and designed a plan for me that worked well. A lot of times, I wondered if the color scheme and recommended choices were going to work. Barbara kept telling me: "Trust me; its is going to look really nice." Oh, my goodness, she was so right! At one point, my assistant and I laughed as she said; "We should have put more trust in Barbara!" Barbara has a good eye for making things look fabulous. Third, and equally important, she takes the stress out of remodeling or decorating your place. I had like one piece of furniture that I really loved and she took that and turned it into a holistic vision for our entire home. I can't even remember what our home looked like before. I love it SO much. We re-painted kitchen cabinets and walls downstairs and completely overhauled our furniture and blew out our bathroom for new tiling, vanity, fixtures and cabinets. She had so many resources that while at times overwhelming, she had a ton of patience with us and helped us make decisions when we were stuck. My husband and I really are so happy. So 2 main things I think are what make Jenny a stand-out. 1) her vision is beyond any thing I could ever come up with. Its not like she takes Restoration Hardware or Crate & Barrel and transfers it to your home. She pulls in many unique pieces that I would never think of and they are exciting and eye-catching but so well coordinated. 2) She has a great sense of knowing where to splurge a little and where to save a little so we're not having to bust the budget everywhere. Jenny helped us immensely with identifying our desired aesthetic and some associated simple design terms to create a framework for the remainder of our discussions. From there, we identified the rooms where we had the most space to fill and where we would spend the most time, and decided on addressing our living room, dining room, kitchen, and home office together. We were presented with clear, concise "A, B, or C" options for selecting and pairing paint colors with flooring, lighting, and functional as well decorative pieces. This approach removed all the "blank slate" stress we initially felt going into the project and facilitated a collaboration which quickly led to selecting components that came together beautifully. Along the way, Jenny helped up strike our desired balance between a few up-market purchases for "showpiece" areas along with modest purchases for complementary items. But a friend who just did her bathrooms said I needed one, so I thought I'd get an estimate and find out just what a designer does. You NEED a designer. Unless you know whether you want an aluminum satin brass schluter or a straight edge schluter, then you should hire Toshi. Cuz I didn't even know what a schluter was before this, and I certainly couldn't make a technical drawing for my contractor with the measurements for it. Toshi, is super nice but can be just the right amount pushy with contractors and vendors if things start falling through the cracks on your project. She was so helpful in getting our remodel done in a timely way and exactly as we wanted it. Money so well spent.

Melissa worked with me to do full interior and exterior paint colors. She chose a beautiful combination of colors that make my little house really amazing (warm and cool, neutral and bold).
