Best selection of wine in the black hills with view and service to match. Wife and I come here…read moreweekly!

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Deadwood…read more My wife and I stumbled upon this incredibly unique and peaceful wine house just steps away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Deadwood--and what a discovery it was. In a city known for its casinos and saloons, this beautifully restored home offers an entirely different kind of experience: one centered around relaxation, quality, and taste. Housed in a gorgeously maintained historic property, this spot features multiple cozy rooms filled with elegant furnishings and stained glass windows, along with spacious porches both upstairs and downstairs where you can unwind with a glass or bottle of wine. The ambiance alone makes it worth a visit. The wine selection is top-tier and surprisingly affordable, especially for South Dakota. They offer a solid list of wines by the glass or bottle, but also have a curated room filled with exceptional bottles from around the world--at prices that beat anything else we saw in the area, whether in Custer or Deadwood. You can enjoy your wine there (with a small corkage fee) or take it home. To complement the wine, they serve thoughtfully arranged charcuterie boards featuring a variety of cheeses, fruits, and other healthy bites. You can also add sliced salami to customize your board further to enhance the experience. This isn't your typical restaurant or wine bar--it's more like being invited into someone's beautifully curated home for a relaxing afternoon or evening. It's a peaceful, upscale oasis in a town that can sometimes feel a little wild. Highly recommended if you're looking for something refined, memorable, and just a short stroll from the main strip.

This is a fun little place with a fusion feel. I appreciated the frozen items you can take home…read more(such as breakfast burrito and Thai dumplings). We had guacamole and chips and the guacamole was the best I've ever had. Chunky and flavorful and so much of it. They served it with chips and cucumber slices. The guacamole on cucumber was really nice and light and healthy We also had the warm elote which was also stand out. Sooooo flavorful!! For the main dish I chose ceviche, as the server recommended it. I'm a big ceviche person, but I found it to be too different and I actually left most of it and chose not to take it home. The ingredients were good and fresh. It was served more as a cold soup than transitional ceviche, which doesn't contain a lot of liquid. See photo. I appreciate this place doing new types of food in a community that has limited ethnic culture and choices. I'd return to try more. In fact, we must return for their mud pie, which is make of home made cookie dough crust and coffee ice cream. Service was friendly, but food took much longer than it should have.

Tried the Pork Carnitas and the Blackened fish tacos. Both were delicious and the double tortilla…read moreon each we were able to split to end up with 4 tacos of each. This was a meal in itself, though there was little to no blackening on the fish The flavors of both were good The finest were the Crème Brûlée. I had the tres leche and my with had the dark ch chocolate and ancho chili. These were probably the best of any flavor crème brûlées I've ever had. We shared to two, and fortunately my wife was full from the tacos so I got more than half of both.
