While not a large store, it has just about everything you might need in a pinch while not cluttering the store with the extras you don't or won't need. During my visit to this store, I found the staff to be friendly, outgoing and most importantly, helpful. Those characteristics proved to be a far cry from the lack of communication skills I found in the two vastly larger supermarket chains that operate in the Rapid City area of the Black Hills - namely SAFEWAY and FAMILY FARE. Another nice aspect of shopping in Lynne's DAKOTAMART is the fact that their relative store sizes mean they are almost never overcrowded and therefore, you won't wait on long cashier lines. This proves another reason why on my next visit and when I move to the Black Hills region in 2026, I plan to start shopping regularly at these stores.

I really wanted to like this place, especially because it had such good ratings and reviews…read more Unfortunately, our experience just didn't live up to what I was expecting. We were seated around 8:40am, ordered around 8:50am, and didn't get our food until about 9:40am. An hour wait after ordering felt like a really long time for breakfast, especially when you're sitting there getting hungrier by the minute. The employees were genuinely friendly, though. They checked on us and kept our drinks refilled several times, so I really can't complain about the people or the way we were treated. The food itself was unfortunately pretty hit or miss. My eggs were cold, and the bacon was undercooked for me. It was soft, chewy, and still had that texture that made me not want to eat it. After waiting that long for the food, it was pretty disappointing. The pancake was really good, though, and definitely the highlight of the meal. I know one experience doesn't necessarily tell the whole story, and maybe we just caught them on an off morning. But with how highly rated this place is, I honestly expected a lot more. I'd probably give it another chance someday, but this first visit just wasn't what I hoped it would be.

The inside and outside are dog-friendly, so bring your furbabies. There is also an outdoor water station. I put a card in with a server, was given menus, and then we found the perfect spot outside. There is a huge yard with lots of seating under the covered patio. There is also an uncovered seating area. The bar and tables inside are very unique and some of the coolest I have ever seen in a restaurant. I got a flight (four beers), but it was really hard to decide on only four. I wish we could have stayed longer so I could try more. I went with the Black Hills Blonde, Exit 32, Sturgisweiss, and Pioneer Porter. My flavorite was... Black Hills or Exit with Pioneer in a close third. They were all very good. We shared the BLT with a side of slaw and the Coconut Shrimp with tots. Another thing that made me so happy was that when I asked for a side of ranch, I was given a bottle! The favs of the meal were the BLT, which had very yummy crispy bacon, and the tots dipped in ranch. I could have sat there all day moving in and out of the sun, sipping on beers.

I loved that mine had those delightful dark cocktail cherries. The burger with bacon was excellent, as were the hand-cut fries (although I was disappointed that they didn't do truffle fries, especially since I could smell the truffle oil on the next-table-over's flatbread). I got a side salad with homemade blue cheese dressing that was generous with the cheese. They even provided our son a side of carrots and cucumbers with some ranch dip--he loved it! Good vibes and enjoyed the display of guitars! I did wish that they had had booths available, since our toddler was quite tired and we ideally wanted to hang out for longer while he took a snooze.

A party this large could be something that frazzled the staff but not the crew at Sawyer, they were so nice! It was our first time here so we were curious about the diffrent beers. They let us try as many as we liked and they were all delicious. They had a peach sour that was fantastic. They also have a ton of delicious ipa's and a few different non alcoholic drinks. I was shook with a party so large how fast they got all of our food. I really appreciate that I can't do dairy so I asked if I could have the cheese for the nachos on the side. They did this but to my disappointment it was basically just chips and meat. Not their fault since I modified it. What I really appreciated though was I asked since there's no cheese could you bring me some salsa for it. They lovingly did this, and a big bowl too!l What excellent customer service. The vibe there is super cool and plenty of seating both inside and out! I would 100% recommend this brewery!!!

Bonus Stop, not on the Hop Passport (yet?)…read more I'm going to have to start with agreeing with another reviewer on the credit card policy. We prefer to pay cash with small businesses to keep them from having to pay credit card fees (or us for that matter, if the fees are passed on to the consumer) but that seems to be unacceptable here. I completely understand having a card on file for keeping a tab open but it makes zero sense to require a card when someone wants to pay cash. We ordered a flight and wanted to pay cash but were told they needed a credit card regardless, just in case. Just in case what? I'm paying for my order before I get it. I would then be free to leave when I choose without additional work for staff or, well, me. Especially since there is indeed a credit card fee here, since we were told the cash price on closing out exactly what we initially ordered - "just let me pay and be done with it" (quoting the hubs). I'd seriously rethink that policy. On to the beer, there were a couple of stand outs, including our favorites the Dark Lager & Mouse Trap. As well as middle of the road brews, falling in the 3 range. We loved the collabs. It's always great to see businesses support each other. There are pizzas on the menu that looked pretty interesting but, circling back to point 1, we were annoyed enough by the credit card requirement that we opted for 1 & done, unfortunately. Note: there's some awesome merch &, I believe, meat for sale. Super cool.
