Most of the time the checkers don't speak except to say there you go, have a nice day as they hand over the receipt. The other day I looked at the guy checking and said "you're welcome and he just turned away. I went to customer service and told the guy there that since my money spent there helps pay the help, they could at least say thank you. He just nodded and looked the other way. I know how hard it is to find help. these days, but it's important to train the checkers and other staff the importance of treating the customers courteously. I live out of town and have to drive quite a ways to get to the store. I guess I better find another grocer as I won't be treated that way any longer. I guess my business isn't wanted. The lady in the deli, name tag said "Lesley", was the most rude, vulgar woman to all three of us waiting in line. I will never go to any other Safeway deli because of how she treated us. Never. I have lived in Sundance over a year and when I got here, it was a known "joke" to go to Decker's... that is no longer the case. The new manager is amazing at getting you products you want/need if they don't normally order them. The prices are pretty high, but you do save gas from NOT driving so far to a bigger store. New refrigeration units put in, lighting, etc.... produce you are not scared to buy anymore as well! lol Since new ownership, I have NOT come across expired or moldy food which is GREAT!
