Walmart allows service dogs. Service dogs walk on the floor and provide a service to someone, usually someone with a disability. THIS Walmart does not enforce the rules. You see people in the story carrying their dogs around in their arms or have them in the shopping carts. My last trip to this Walmart I saw six dogs either being carried or riding. So many dogs that I advise anyone going to this Walmart to watch where they walk because you know what dogs leave as presents. read more

A Walmart is a Walmart, right? Dirt cheap prices, infamous Walmart people, clean and great customer service? I've been to many a Walmarts as we like to take road trips and always forget something. This trip was no different. My daughter forgot her bras. So we went here. Most people know you can't just take a bra off the hanger and know it will fit. There are so many variables. There were two Walmart employees sitting in the fully lit changing room area. When I asked if my daughter could try on the bras, both replied "no". When I asked if there was an alternative, both smirked and said "no". When I asked if she could try them on in the restroom (fully aware of their policy of not allowing merchandise in the restrooms), by golly, they had no response! It was as if they wanted us to try and test their policy. I understand that we're in different times. What I don't understand is why a company already known for questionable customer service would allow it to tank even further. We're in this crazy COVID pandemic together. One shouldn't feel the need to treat another like sh*t for no reason. Don't shop at this location. Go to Target instead. read more

Everyone has been to Walmart and this just like the others. We stopped to get a swimsuit in a pinch. Dirt cheap prices, great locations and large selection are why Walmart does well. This was really easy to get to, with access right off the freeway. Hard to review Walmart, because it is Walmart. Some people love them and some hate them. OK, came here for a refill on cases of water and the like for the car. This is a Walmart that makes ours in the East look bad. The aisles are huge here. Parking is easy. Plenty of employees to help checkout quickly. Well stocked shelves. Tons of chokies. And they sell liquor here. Clearly its a Western thing to sell alcohol everywhere. But new to me. So of course I had to check out my options. and they were very wide here. It was impressive, the selections they had to offer. You do checkout alcohol there separately. Went to this wal mart looking for pain relief in the middle of the night. The hours online say 12am-12am, so 24 hours right? Wrong. When I got there the doors were locked and the hours on the door say open til 11pm. I would give this store an absolute 0 if possible. It started as I am disabled and store would not like my wife bring electric 50 feet to car so I would not have a super painful double cane walk into store. Employees did not know where things were on 5 occasions and on checkout The cashier had no idea how to ring up water and we waited 5 minutes while the manager took he sweet time getting there. The manager then overcharged us and was discourteous and hateful and had the odisity to tell us we were getting a good deal when she overcharged us! Worst in store experience I have had in 40 years. After I scheduled my grocery order to be delivered Oct 12th 11am-noon, but Walmart emailed me that my order would be delivered sooner, today Oct 7th. I did not want to be disturbed but there's no way to opt out. At 7:30pm a delivery guy shows up with one unimportant item. I canceled my account and will no longer do business with Walmart grocery. Dear Walmart, I just spoke with your employee named "Joseph." At my request he said my account and all online grocery delivery business with you is cancelled--including the $9.95 membership fee that got me "free" deliveries. Some reasons I have cancelled my business with you include but are not limited to: 1. Without my consent or approval you decided to deliver some items from my current order sooner than the date and time I scheduled and which you accepted. So, unbelievably, last night your delivery guy awakened me from sleep to hand me 12 RTE pudding cups, hardly an emergency item. 2. When you emailed me to unilaterally declare you were going to deliver some items sooner than Oct 12th, you failed to give me opportunity to OPT OUT. And, your email was a "do not reply." 3. You presumed or assumed I camp out by my door 24-7 ready and awake to accept delivery whenever you decide. What's wrong with you? Who's the yoyo making these stupid decisions? Who? 4. You "improved" your online grocery delivery website. But you failed to give us customers a simple tutorial on how to use it. You changed the ordering sequence. Most of the time I did not know what to do next. 5. Your new website is pretty--but ridiculously difficult to use. At my previous order it was impossible to add additional items to the current order. My only option was to "start a new order"--to be delivered on a different date/time. 6. You didn't test your new, pretty website. So, good bye. It was a pain in the ass using your new website. And it's outrageous for you to decide without my consent to deliver some items before the date and time slot that you accepted. The Walmart employees responsible for these changes need a new job or retraining. read more

This is one of those superstores. You can find everything and anything here. We came here to pick up groceries and camping supplies before we headed into the S. Dakota wilderness. While we were there, my lover was looking at things for our wedding, games, things for her house, shoes... it goes on and on. You could spend a lot of time in here if you wanted. Go to this Walmart instead of the brand new Walmart across town. The new Walmart is way overpriced... We priced items there and most were at least $2 more which is crazy. The LaCrosse Walmart can be busy but if you go at the right times it is not as bad. I have never had a problem with items being out of stock, so am fairly pleased with this Walmart! read more

I shopped today at this store and found when I came out that someone had locked their 2 dogs in the car , This is against state laws and now in all states animal abuse is a felony. Not having a cell phone I went back into the store and asked 3 different employees to call police. This applies to all local groceries but it happened at Wal-Mart this time so they get the review. They don't rotate perishable product like they should. When shelves are stocked, they just put new stuff in front and push the old to the back. Waste of money which comes out of our pocket in the end. This is indicative of poor training and/or poor department management. I've been in food handling for many years and this is one of the biggest basic rules, Rotate-Rotate-Rotate. Once again, this is not just Wal-Mart. We have to check dates at most all stores. Restaurants also have this problem but John Q.Citizen doesn't get to inspect their store rooms and coolers. read more

Tried to get cash back from cashier while checking out, she said she had no extra cash, went to the the ATM and it was being serviced and the guy said it would be a couple of hours. Went to Customer Service and the said no cash without a purchase, found an Assistant Produce Mgr and he spent several minutes repeating the no purchase no cash back. I explained I had asked for cash at the first cashier. After several minutes I gave up and went to the bank. I thought Walmart's CS was getting better, but they proved me wrong. read more

WalMart has the best grocery selection and cheapest prices in Rapid City, SD. So it is place where people come to do their grocery shopping. Expect large crowds and a wait at the cashier. WalMart and Safeway (more expensive) are the only decent grocery stores I shop at. read more

I work at this particular Wal-Mart and have to say that right now this store is the #1 store in the company for sales. Now, just imagine how many people you are going to encounter on any given day with sales being in the #1 spot. Since SD, in their great intelligence, thinks that everyone belongs on food stamps and that everyone who is on food stamps should get their money on the 10th of every month, stay away for about three days at that time. You will find the same prices, if not better deals if you just shop around. Wal-Mart is not that hard to beat. This Wal Mart is a long-time fixture in North Rapid City. It has built an incredible business and is a busy place. Without fail, the people who work there work hard to serve the customer, their store is always well stocked, and their prices are among the best and lowest you will find among any of the local retail chains. I don't know the agenda of the two preceding people who wrote scathingly ridiculous reviews, about zombies and "sea of customers" and such, but I'd shop there any time and every time. We ordered a 32inch RCA TV online on 8 March 2016, it was due in 24 March 2016. It never showed up, Was told at the pick-up on 29 March that it came in and didn't have paperwork on it so it was put on the shelf and sold. We didn't receive any E-mail or message that we were given a Refund or that the TV was sold in the store to someone else! We just Found out when we want to the Store. Not happy about the out come. I used to shop here twice a week, got all my groceries and almost all other items here. They've gotten worse and worse. Empty shelves, worse selection, items I'd bought for years no longer stocked, and man the crazies that this place attracts! But the worse was the insane downgrade in staff. Everyone knows you can't get customer service in Wal-Mart, that's nothing new. But I like to be in-and-out, and suddenly a few years ago there would only be 2 cashiers and lines back 20 people deep with carts full of food. Then the self-checkout came. What a joke. It takes 2 associates to run to-and-fro correcting the errors by scanning a upc on a piece of paper and they clearly don't know how the machines work. I tried to get one of the associates to take off items I had scanned too many times one time--total fail. Reciept said I ended up paying for them. Another time my credit card didn't want to read on the machine. I was outright told, "you only get 3 chances with your EBT." Sorry lady, but I've never been on financial assistance, wic, or food stamps. Last straw with the self checkouts was when I wanted to take a couple items off the receipt because they were ringing up wrong and I couldn't get them to do price checks & felt like an idiot with a line of people waiting to be rung up so I struggled to communicate that they were taking items off the receipt that I wanted & just not understanding how the register worked at all & when I got home I found I'd been charged for multiple items they'd put back that were the wrong priced ones, that they'd taken items out of my cart I'd wanted to buy and had paid for and they put back on the shelf, and one item I'd been not charged for because they had deleted it off the receipt when trying to delete another item. Oh, and they didn't know how to look at the receipt line in the computer & didn't want to review the receipt with me in the store, but hastily were ushering me away and someone else to the self-checkout till. If I didn't have to go back for several items I buy for other people that I can't get elsewhere, I wouldn't set foot in the place again. Rapid City, SD 1200 N Lacrosse Street - Tire & Lube Center. I cannot praise highly enough the service staff in this department - specifically Thomas, Aleta and DeWayne - for the level of professionalism, trouble shooting skill, knowledge and courtesy they demonstrated when I was in a bad way on Sunday afternoon April 15, 2016 with a serious problem with my 2010 VW Touareg. I was nearly 60 miles away when there was a sudden vibrating sound coming from under the vehicle as I drove at 60 mph. At first I thought it was a rough road surface making the noise but it persisted after the roadbed changed. I slowed and turned a corner and it subsided until I sped up again at which time it became extremely loud. Thinking I had a blowout I pulled to the side and inspected all four: no blowout. Surprised I assumed it was a burst belt or cord which was causing the noise, but there was no shimmy or steering shake. I decided at once to head to RC for fear something very serious was happening. As I could only drive 30 mph with relative quiet, it took 90 minutes to drive back to RC. Figuring it was a bad tire I headed to the Walmart Tire Center on Lacrosse arriving just before 6. They were busy but Aleta took time to inquire further about the issue, Thomas was nearby and overheard our conversation. After finishing with a customer he began assisting Aleta in getting details and sorting out symptoms to determine if it was the tires or a strut tower, broken bolt or what. As Aleta did a visual inspection, Thomas queued me into their service line and dug into further evaluation. I played a recording of the sound coming through the floorboards. At that point he asked one sharp service tech, DeWayne, to get the rig up on his hoist to examine it all closely. They quickly eliminated the tires, then the suspension, and started looking at their next suspected possibility. That's when he found it - a broken driveshaft bearing mount causing the shaft to pound the floorboards. Thomas said you've got to see this and took me to an observation point where DeWayne could point to where it was coming from, hidden by a steel plate. As he moved it up and down I could see the motion and hear it banging. This may not sound like a big deal to a lot of folks, but to me, a small business owner, it was incredibly impressive: they had the maturity, knowledge, skills, concern and can-do attitude not often found these days with so many places who turn to young cheap labor. Not here! These employees are older adults with real on the job know-how to get the job done. They deserve, at least, a company commendation and Walmart-wide recognition as an example of how it should be. Aleta, Thomas and DeWayne are among your store's greatest assets: take care of them and don't lose them. I sincerely appreciate your assistance and thank each of you for helping point me in the right direction to get the VW service work I needed. Quite simply: YOU THREE ARE THE BEST. THANK YOU!
