I had been going to this office since moving here over 15 years ago. Sounds like the kindness has turned to greed. I read a few others with similar stories. It's the offices fee schedules that they don't budge on. The staff is great but not taking the State of Nevada's dental insurance being in the State on Nevada is ironic. A dental cleaning and x-ray should be covered by insurance. This is preventative not anything else. It's sad to say bye but this is not right. Rachinell's office had me rate my mouth, and I said a 10/ 10... they laughed, then looked... and saw I was right. According to Jennifer at the SS office, they have a policy, dictated by NV law, that they HAVE to do x-rays every 18 months... and boy, the pressure to do x-rays is put on the patient... Ok.. OK... OK... However, Delta Dental paid out $155 of my WHOPPING $372 dollar bill for a regular annual checkup, cleaning, and x-ray fee... and I was socked with $217. For a historically PERFECT mouth. I asked if there could be any budging on my responsibility for the cost of this INSANELY UNNECESSARY "by law" procedure. No budging. NONE. I'm done. Ya lost me. Been nice knowing ya... but I'll continue with my own oral care, in my own very special, very effective way. read more

I have been a customer for about 10 years. I got a $1900 quote for a crown replacement. I called my insurance they said that was way too high. Got another quote for another dentist for $600 for the same crown replacement. I then called to ask stunning smiles if they could work with me on price as a long time client and insurance advisement as well as the other dentist quote. They said No. I said well I have seen this dentist for many years so still wish to see them going forward for cleanings and future work but the crown replacment was really high based on insurance company's feedback to me and other dental quote. They then told me if you get crown replacment work done else where don't bother coming to our office for your future cleanings or anything else. They then sent me a certified letter stating we have decided to no longer work with you as a patient anymore and you should find your self a new dentist. I continue to have really great work from Dr. Racinelli. It takes me so much anesthetic and time for me to get numb. He is always very patient and makes sure I am comfortable. He can make crowns and inlays in his office so that you do not have to come in for two appointments. The technology is quite amazing. The assistants are really great too. I never have too much water in the back of my throat and they are always really nice. Robin does a nice job with my teeth cleaning too and I look forward to my apointments. Dr Racanneli is a good dentist; however, I do not recommend him for Invisalign. He is not an orthodontist. What was supposed to be 10 months ended up years. I got a chipped tooth from my bite benign so off. One of his assistants decided she would make the adjustments to fix something. I told her I wanted to see the doctor and she said it wasn't necessary. This was at the 10 month appointment I had a slight gap in my front. Teeth: I told her it was fine unless an easy fix and she was not allowed to turn one tooth and tuck it behind the other to close the gap. This is why I was there to start with. Well after a week or two of the new trays that's what happened. Then my bit was off and when I was eating I chipped a tooth. Years later I'm finally done thou not completely satisfied I had to settle to be done. The doctor told me he reviewed what his assistant recommended and was always defensive when I would bring this up when I was saying he should have seen me. I think they try to pump so many out plus dentistry that they need to focus on being a dentist. I took my son to Mountain West for his Invisalign and they look amazing and are way ahead. Moral of the story don't go to him for Invisalign. Also the Ortho was almost $1000 cheaper than the quote Stunning smokes gave me for my son. There is a reason there is extra schooling for orthodontists and why a dentist should stick to being a dentist. Also if your going for a routine cleaning ask them to call your insurance so you know your exact benefit. They used to do this. My last visit they said I had no copay then I get $150 bill for me and my son. My dental company said he was a "preferred" provider and they charge more? She then explained Ed he was basically out of network for my certain plan. I ended up with the normal $50 copay for each which was reasonable and after a while if discussing their methods the agreed to waive the extra $50 which was nice. I will now be finding a new dentist because it seems they have lost their way a little. I wish the clinic the best they have great staff but be Dillinger when you go there so you don't get surprise bills. read more

BEST COSMETIC DENTIST IN LAS VEGAS!! I was born and raised here in Las Vegas and have been seeing many dentists from a very young age. Unfortunately I was traumatized by a dentist at the age of 8 years old that scarred me after he threatened to put the drill that he was holding close to my face through my cheek if I didn't stop squirming and I was only moving because I felt everything and was crying but he obviously didn't care! After that I was terrified to see any dentist! Several years later I needed to find a Cosmetic Dentist to fix the bad damage that my ex-husband had done to my mouth and teeth! The first dentist I went to insisted that she could fix the damage with veneers and they would be beautiful and perfect! The procedure didn't take long and I was fitted for temporary veneers until the permanence were ready in estimated 14 days. While driving home two of the temporaries popped off even before I got home which led to me having to go back to the dentist office every single morning because they all came off right after leaving the office which to me was extremely horrible and very poor professionalism! Finally... After waiting so long and having to have the temporaries replaced every morning I finally got my permanent veneers. After they were placed on my teeth I looked and they were not what we had discussed previously for them to look like and the dentist and her assistant were not taking my concerns in consideration and because I was the last patient of the evening they had their coats on and purses and keys in hand while I was still sitting in the chair talking about what I didn't like about my teeth! The dentist and her assistant both said... "Wear them for a few days and if you don't grow to like them please let us know". Within one day three of the permanent veneers popped off like the temporaries did!! When I called back to address the situation their response was... "We are going to refund you a portion of what you paid and we suggest you find another dentist". Once again being extremely traumatized by paying so much money and then ending up looking like a "Homeless Pirate"! The next day I received a phone call from The Manager/Recepionist of that dentist office and she was so kind and caring and did research to find the best cosmetic dentist out there and she was confident that they would do an amazing job in fixing the horrific damage that the dentist did to me! My previous dentist did a horrible job on a crown and it cracked in less than a month. I quickly did a google search, called around to see who was available, and thought I'd give Dr. Racanelli a try. I'm so glad I did. I came in around 3 PM for a same day appointment. They were incredibly accommodating because I had to be out of town the following week. But to do a crown starting at 3 PM? That's just asking to work overtime, and they ended up doing just that. Both Dr. Racanelli and his assistant worked on my crown until 7 PM, even though their clinic closes at 5 PM. I felt so bad, but I'm incredibly grateful. Not only did they work overtime, but I never felt like they were rushing the job to get home. Dr. Racanelli also explained everything as he did it. Although I'm no expert in dental work, Dr. Racanelli showed me the x-ray of the crown he put in and I felt confident in his work. By far the best dental experience I've had. If you are okay being charged twice as much for services AND paying for ALL service upfront, then you will be fine. Normally, dental offices submit a claim, and after they get payment from your dental insurance, then you are responsible for the balance (your portion). That does not happen with this office. They still owe me $321 according to my EOBs, and refuse to reimburse me. When I called to speak with Vivianna (office mgr), she refused to speak to me because I filed a claim with Delta Dental. Meanwhile, they lied to Delta Dental about the process...and they know they are wrong. Instead of trying to settle this matter, they decided to cancel us as patients. No loss on our end, except the money they still owe us! read more

Dr. Racanelli and his staff are professional and I appreciate their excellent work. They use advanced technologies and provide great oral care. I have a partial crown from Dr. Racanelli that he fitted and placed the same day in the office. He did a scan of my tooth once it was prepped and created a custom fit partial that slipped on like a glove. I've had a "deep cleaning" done here as well. That's a fancy name for root scaling and plaining. Let me tell you, they made it as painless as possible. Dr. Racanelli is always buying new equipment and staying cutting edge. The deep cleaning they do is all laser! There is this thin little tool that looks like a fiber optic cable about as thin as a needle with a glowing end. They run that along your gums where your tooth connects and it targets all the necrotic tissue. Seals up your gums right to your tooth so those probe pockets are all 1, 2, or 3. Worked like a charm. The staff here is friendly. The front desk bills correctly. I've had good experiences here year after year. They will give you a lot of options for your overall mouth health. They will talk to you about Invisalign every visit - align your teeth properly and then retain them. If you decline, they are not pushy. As most people, I am not the biggest fan of going to the dentist. The last time i went to the dentist, would best be described as a scene from a horror movie. I wont go into that story... But i am excited to talk about my visit today!!! My appointment was at 10am. I arrived about 10-13 minutes early. The front office staff was well dressed, friendly, prompt and greeted as soon as i took one step in the office. I filled out the paperwork and waited MAX 7 minutes in the waiting room. Susan called me back and greeted me with a warm smile. She showed me around and gave me a tour of the whole office! It was so neat to see all the equipment in the office. As we passed other people that worked in the office, they all took the time to say hi and welcome! It was very refreshing. Susan was great at explaining everything that they were going to do for that appointment. They really do go above and beyond and have the best customer service! They took xrays and pictures. They showered me the pictures as a "see what we see" and they explained everything that was going on. Not only were they upfront and took the time to explain everything, they offered solutions to anything that was brought up. Dr. Racanelli came in shortly after Susan was done with my cleaning. I recommend this office to anyone and everyone, i cannot brag enough at how amazing the customer service was, how clean the office was and how kind and knowledgeable they staff was! Please keep in mind my review is only in my experience. I hate to be the one to rate this dentist only two stars because I was so excited to have him do my work but I feel that if you are an amazing doctor you should have an open availability and his availability unfortunately stinks! I was looking forward to getting my teeth done within a certain timeframe but not being able to get appointments for one month is just not convenient and after I waited a month for my appointment the doctor had an emergency and had to cancel it I was extremely upset and I remember expressing it to the girls at the front when they called me to cancel my appointment even though I asked for a refund I thought the doctor would probably call me back to apologize once again as he knew how excited I was for him to do my dental work but unfortunately he didn't and I have found another doctor with a great availability. So again my review is not on the service but yet on my experience. His work still looks amazing in my book for what I did want. read more

If your anything like me, picky about who's in your mouth, this is the office for you. The whole team go out of their way to make sure you feel welcomed & COMFORTABLE. My hygienist Rachael was so sweet and gentle. Her friendly personality made my normally nerve racking cleaning a BREEZE! I cant say enough about Dr.Racanelli! You can tell he has a-lot of expertise and makes you feel comfortable in the chair. His out of the box thinking makes him the perfect dentist! I love this office! I would take my cat here if I could! Annoyed with this practice, as I lie in bed in pain. They offered a same day crown procedure, so I immediately went there when my tooth broke. Doc said I didn't need it to be crowned right away, and I should go forward with cleaning first, etc. Staff wouldn't schedule me for partial cleaning, which I require, due to medical conditions. I would have paid out of pocket. There was so much back and forth wasting time. The doc also couldn't tell me what kind of procedure I would require, so I could be best prepared. Bottom line, he should have never offered a state of the art, same day procedure. I could have gone somewhere else and been patched up vs infected. I should have gotten a second opinion, but the reviews were so good here. :( I just wanted my dang tooth fixed right away. It took so long to even get in for a cleaning, then they couldn't figure out how to treat me. read more

My mom decided to switch our family dentist (15+ years!!!) to Dr. Racanelli about a year ago, him and his staff quickly became my favorite! Seeing Rachel up front every few months instantly puts a smile on my face! Dr. R always reaches out after my appointment to see how I'm doing, even if it was just a cleaning! I've had a different hygienist everytime I go in and I have no complains - they're all very thorough and consistent.
