I came to Dr Akemi after Dr Hale totally destroyed my mouth requiring me to get implants. Dr Akemi is the only doctor I could find specializes in corrective centrist AND who took insurance. I drive 50 minutes each way and it is worth it. Now that I no longer have insurance he has been very fair on his pricing. I recommend him Highly. He provides personalized services. I just want to say Dr. Partovi & his wife are so amazing! I started seeing them in 2019 when I had a crown fall out, I reached out to their office online & the Doctor called me the next morning & fit me in right away to put the crown back in. I get really bad anxiety at dentist but I experienced zero pain and zero worries/anxiety! They are so thorough when they explain things it really is comforting & helpful for someone like me with anxiety. I have booked my cleanings with them every since! I no longer get worried before going to the dentist (this is huge for me) His kind wife Mahnoosh is the hygienist & she is just awesome! She never makes me feel judged for having poor teeth hygiene as a child, she is so great to talk to during and after visits. She has positive & strong communication with the Doctor about my progress every visit & it just makes the environment so great to be around. I trust them with my teeth journey as funny as that sounds. Im happy to say I look forward to the dentist thanks to their office! I referred my Fiancé to their office when he had wisdom teeth pain & to no surprise they fit him in right away & referred him out for wisdom teeth extractions. Dr Partovi and his wife Mrs Partovi are amazing! I've been seeing him since 2016 and have zero complaints. I ended up switching to Dr Partovi because my insurance had changed. On my first visit, I expressed to him how the last dentist I saw told me I had 2 cavities. Dr Partovi proved to me that I did not have any cavities and stated he's glad my insurance changed and that I found him as my new dentist. I moved over to Skye Canyon in 2017 and still make the drive over to their office for my visits. Office is very clean, fast service and there's never a wait time. I came into this dental office for a much needed check up since I hadn't seen a dentist in quite a while and knew I needed at least a few cavity cleanings with fillings. When I came into the office the staff was friendly, however when I went back I was assigned with Mrs, Dr. Partovi who did x-rays and the check in my mouth and proceeded to tell me what was going on. She said that I had a lot of cavities, at least 3 in every quadrant in my mouth, which was true. She told me one side was so bad that I might need to have a root canal as an 18 year old girl which is apparently very "rare" and "concerning". Then she proceeded to tell me that "if I was her daughter she would be sad" which was completely unnecessary and not helpful for the situation in my opinion. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day and was just have a condescending tone with me the whole consultation but it was just very unprofessional and inconsiderate towards my feelings. I understand that as a patient they need to be aware of the condition they're in, and that there are consequences for your actions especially when it comes to health related areas. However I just felt as if she was being WAY too rude and harsh with me, especially when I had knew already that I had neglected my self-care that year and just wanted to start fresh. As a Doctor I just feel like you should have sympathy and compassion for your patients, especially if you have no clue what I had been going through to cause me to not care for my health. So don't go here unless you want to be lectured about your life choices and leave the office crying because of how someone shattered your self-esteem at 11am. So all in all, I went to see another doctor who was SO MUCH better and we ended up getting me all fixed up in 5 visits where I DIDNT end up needing a root canal and saved me so much money!! The amazing doctor I found is at a hidden gem at Star Brite Dental on Rainbow, ask for Dr. Do!! P.s: This was over a year ago and I still think about how poorly I was treated as a young adult reaching out for some help. Please proceed with caution at this place. read more

I really enjoyed my visit at this office with both the hygienist and the doctor my husband was thrilled with the services! As new patients we were put in in a timely manner the receptionist was extremely friendly and professional as were both the hygienist and the doctor. My only reason for the four star review instead of five stars is that I found that this doctor does not do a lot of complete restorative work and that concerns me to be referred to only to a prosthodontist as an option. Although I do not need these services, my husband may need them in the future. I guess we will figure it out at that time. We had no wait time and cleanings were thorough! read more

If you are traveling West, it's best to use Twain because there is heavy construction on Tropicana. The office will be on your left and if you are looking for the office number ("10175"), it is behind the first building. Basically, turn left before you get to the intersection of Hualapai and Twain and go around the first building. I decided on Desert Smiles instead of another dental office in my area because of the reviews...thank you YELP! From the reviews, I received a sense of family and quality from this office than the other option I had in mind. Yes, the other location had some cool perks like free Netflix movies during your visit but it was due to some not-so-good reviews that gave me a feeling that the other location may treat me like a number instead of a person or a valued client. Attending my appointment solidified my choice and I will never look back! As you can read from the other reviews, the staff is not very large; Mrs. Partovi is the hygienist and Dr. Sam Partovi is the doctor. Both of them explain very well what is happening and other explanations that help me better understand my teeth, brushing technique, tips for better oral health and the list goes on. I truly felt at home coming to the office and I plan to make this a permanent choice for all my dental needs. I have to make mention of the front office staff member (Aksine is her name), she was also so kind and friendly. When I called to make an appointment, I gave an email address that was a combination of two different email addresses I have. (I've never done that before!) When I realized that I never received an email from them, I left a message that evening to give my correct email and the very next morning got the email as promised that would have the patient forms. I also received a call acknowledging that my message was received and that I can expect the email to be sent correctly now. I don't know about you but that is the extra touch that can set anyone apart! I suppose the little things are always what makes one company better than the other. Last night one of my porcelain crowns popped off and I tried calling my regular dentist this morning to schedule an appointment to have it re-glued back on and they told me the soonest they could see me would be over a week out. I started looking for another dentist because the idea of waiting another week with the pain I was in was absurd. I found Desert Smiles through my insurance company, called around 11:45, was able to come in to see Dr. Partovi at 1:00, and left the office at 1:11 completely taken care of. Everyone was so friendly, the service was very professional and amazingly fast, and I couldn't be happier! Throughout my life, I have had more dentists that are condescending and/or cold than I've had friendly/likable. I believe this is as a lot of dentists subscribe to 1 of 2 theories: 1) I need to scare my patients into being better about their teeth and/or 2) patients should be treated as transactions. I'm very happy to say that my experiences with Desert Smiles do not come close to reflecting these past experiences and Dr. Partovi and his wife (who is the hygienist) are among the best, if not the best, Dentist/Hygienist combo I have had to date. Highlights: *Dentist/Hygienist are very personable, very naturally nice (not fake, not going through the motions), extremely friendly, and ensure you are comfortable throughout the visit. The family-feel of the practice is great. *Timely - they don't overload their appointments to maximize their revenue; they're on time and efficient. *Don't have your whole life revolve around your teeth? That's fine, they won't make you feel like a horrible person and instead are respectful and take the time to explain in detail the different cause/effect relationships your dental activities have (e.g. brushing, flossing, rinsing....or not doing these) *Automated text and email reminders are great for people with busy lifestyles *The office staff has always been friendly and professional. When I first visited Dr. Partovi's office, it had been a very long time since I had been to a dentist, partly because I was worried about the cost, but also because of severely negative experiences with dentists in the past. I needed a lot of work, Dr. Partovi explained everything I needed and the priority level for everything. It took a lot of visits, and a whole lot of lidocaine but my teeth are HEALTHY!! Aside from Dr. Partovi's impeccable work, everyone in the office is so incredibly kind and welcoming! It has meant a lot to be able to make a dentist appointment and actually look forward to it. After shopping around we liked these people from our first impressions alone. Luckily, I was referred by a friend who has taken her family here for four years. My husband and I have went once and were very happy with our first appointments. They treated us very well and were helpful with the fact that we don't have dental insurance. A prior dentist recommended some unrealistic work to be done eight months ago. Dr. Partovi explained why this procedure was not necessary. Glad I looked around for a second opinion! Mrs. Partovi is the hygienist who took great care in her work, spent extra time explaining a better way to brush, and was very easy to be around. Very friendly and informative staff. I like the people who own it and run it but they're expensive and when I realized I wasn't going to be able to afford the deep cleaning I asked if I could just get a cleaning for now (this is covered through my insurance) and give me time to figure something else out they said I would have to pay $100 to cancel the appointment because they refused to do a regular cleaning on my teeth because I need a deep cleaning. I understand i need deep cleaning cleaning but for now just let my people get some kind of treatment while I can't afford anything else I think it was ridiculous they wouldn't work with me. I went to several dentist trying to find a great combo of professional & feasible. This place was the most expensive I thought it was $300 in turned out to be $385. The other places were closer to $200 but I liked this place but I cannot pay that much more for the same work read more
