We recently stayed at Stumpy Meadows Campground. Upon arriving, we were greeted by name by the camp hosts, David and Elizabeth. We can't say enough about how accommodating they were for our group. They knew that the site we reserved (#18) was pretty sunny and offered us other options if we wanted more shade. We took them up on their offer and selected sites #6 and #8. Our spots were great, plenty of flat ground for our tents, close to water and the restrooms. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. Unfortunately, halfway into our trip, the sheriff came through the campground at 4:30 a.m., issuing an evacuation warning. There was a fire developing in the area. David and Elizabeth kept us updated on the info until we absolutely knew we had to go. We made our reservations through recreation.gov and saw they automatically refunded our unused part of the trip without even requesting it. We hope to go back soon and spend more than a couple of days here!!

Beautiful lake and hidden gem near Georgetown. Must visit with the family if you're wanting to play in the snow without all the heavy foot traffic.

At the end of the lake all bare mountains.

Beautiful spot to take a rest. Nice and quiet. Next time we will have to pack a lunch and have a nice quiet picnic. Just to enjoy the view. If you continue on you drive thru where the King fire ripped thru the forest. It is so crazy to see all the devastation from that fire. It exposed a lot of the hills. Very beautiful area.

I love this place! We usually plan our group camping trip at somewhere different every year. But this year, we opted to go to Stumpy Meadows again because it was so much fun! Plenty of shade, weather was great in late-July. the reservoir was a short 5 minute walk away from our site, and it was CLEAN. There's only vault toilets there that kind of stink, but its really all you need. If you can handle mosquitos, this place is ideal! University Falls is nearby and going there is a definite must. It's about an hour hike there, and hour back, but the man-made slides are worth it.

Camped at Site 24. We was able to fit 2 mid size vehicles safely within the spurs. This site was well shaded. We fit 2 tents and a 10 x 10 canopy. There was a lot of stumps which made it a little tricky to find a spot to put up the tents. Make sure to bring extra pairs of socks. The mosquitoes weren't as bad. Maybe because it was the lower side of the camp grounds. It's a short hike to down to the lake, very steep. If you got young ones swimming, they should wear a life vest , the water drops off pretty deep. Overall, we enjoyed Stumpy Meadows Campground. Watch my youtube video: https://youtu.be/fvMjwOspw7I

I've never been to a camping ground where you could literally walk to the next site. I hardly ever see people at other campgrounds besides the people I came with. This place is pretty SMALL. Toilets are outhouses. No showers. GROSS GROSS GROSS. A steep walk to the lake. I had to literally climb back with my bare hands from the lake. Guess who wakes you up??? BUSY BEES!!!! They buzz around the faucets in the morning, but thank goodness I didn't get stung by then. But got bit by mosquitoes...Bug spray with deet doesn't work for me, I guess... I hate camping and I always have. I don't know why I go...this review probably isn't the best one for this place, since I despise camping.

This campground is so much fun and so pretty! It's near a reservoir, however, it's a bit of a hike to get to it. The camp hosts are very kind and very helpful. The restrooms are very clean. My family loved this place, and we will return again in the near future!

Sooooo I gave it four stars. We stayed at site number seventeen, and it was large enough for 5 tents so that was good. It was beautiful and had a fire pit that had a grill ontop of it. So we didnt need to used our electric stove. The lake was nice and not freezing either. However, I have to say that our campground was a little closer than I would like and the people who where next to us were a bit too noisy. Other then that it was a great trip. The place is easy to find. Bring too buckets to wash and rinse your dishes in. OH, and also, the outhouses stink! buuuuuut its camping so its no big deal lol I would recommend this site. But some of the sites are a bit smaller in area than others. So look at a picture of the site before you buy it. It really helps.

We did a two day south fork trip, with a stop for the night on the river bank. Our guide Cryin' Bryan(just kidding Brian!!) and bonus gear guy Gator, were absolutely amazing. The were kind, helpful, had the best stories and cooked the best food. We did 21 miles of river over two days and it was unbelievable. Things we learned on this trip... -Gator taught me how to make a camping mocha(more like chocolate coffee when I made it!) with instant cocoa mix, coffee, creamer and water. -A tortilla wrap with PB&J and trail mix is the thing of dreams. -The front right seat of the raft is the 'hot' seat(or wet seat) and you will get hammered repeatedly. Haha. -Camping on the side of the river is magic. Pure. Magic. -Hospital bar has its name for a reason. -Composting toilets in the woods smell like a gerbil cage. -Brian's love of Star Wars and pineapple fried rice lead me to believe we could be real life friends. -You can make lifelong friends out of strangers you meet on a rafting trip. The meals they provided were amazing. Well beyond normal camping fare. For sure a perk with the trip. With things like chicken salad pitas, pancakes, sandwich wraps and fajitas, we were never hungry. We upgraded to the canvas tent they have at the campground for the first night and it was wonderful. The little front porch and getting to hear the river while we slept was magic. The newly upgraded bathrooms were probably the nicest I've seen at a rustic camp ground. The shower stalls are outside, but each one has a locking door with the shower stall and a little changing area with hooks and a bench(and the rain shower heads were great, but know the water pressure isn't the hardest, but not the worst either). When the 'Boss Man' picked us up from the river on the last day, it was really neat to get to chat with him. He asked for anything we think would add to the trip, and the only thing we can think of would be to bring along a yard game for the overnight trips, like ladder-ball or something for on the river. But there is absolutely nothing we would change. Enjoy my million pictures. I really couldn't pick and choose what to show, so I showed it all! We can't wait to go back!!

I really appreciated they had a page linked after you book of all the things to know before the trip. Getting ready was smooth, and the guide was helpful on the way with paddling instructions and questions. We dropped into the water at two points and also got to switch seats so everyone tried being at the front. The water is extremely cold. There are two photo spots where they took pictures you can purchase. Lastly the bus to get back went great, but they kind of left us alone right after we got back to camp, even though we had some questions and were going to leave a tip (we left our wallets in the cars).

Audrey (the…read moreguide who's raft I stayed on), Dustin (the Team Leader), Mcclure, and Roman will forever get my praise for how they exceeded my expectations. This was my first time going both whitewater rafting and camping, and the entire time I felt taken care of, safe, and catered to in ways I hadn't even expected. I don't know how many times I shouted "Team Audrey!" as she expertly navigated difficult rapids. Roman was the guide responsible for riding ahead of us with all our cargo and setting up camp, and every time I was more and more impressed with the breathtaking set up he did with all of our tents, eating areas, and shaded spots. Dustin was a worthy team leader who made sure our trip went smoothly and on time, and was awesome to talk to and joke around with. And McClure was a thorough teacher and guide who is clearly passionate about what he does! I've noticed some reviews of people complaining about things out of Tributary's control like the bathroom quality or the heat or the other parties that would camp nearby. And even though that is technically not Tributary's juriscdiction, I still felt as if the four guides with us did everything they could to anticipate these problems and lessen their impact on our trip. Like they had a handwashing station for us, and had plenty of shaded areas for us to rest in. Not to mention they really took care of the quality of food we ate, giving gluten free and healthy options as well as snacks and drinks for us. Audrey, Dustin, Roman, and Mcclure. You four have a forever client in me. It is because of you guys I have such memorable stories that I will be telling until I am old. I can not thank you guys enough.

PK2 here we come! 1st day I don't think it ever gets easier sending your kiddo to a new school. Kiddo was a touch apprehensive of a new environment but Teacher Nikki was so incredibly warm and welcoming to kiddo (and hubs and I)! Immediately I knew he was going to be just fine. We met Teacher Monique the next day or so - they coteach PK2 - and she's a gem. Both teachers are warm & caring (like aunties) and their love for teaching shines through! The classroom Together Monique & Nikki have created a thriving classroom full of areas to explore with defined spaces & boundaries. There a reading circle, pet fish, reading pod, and then nap mats for the kiddos to use after lunch before afternoon activities. If the kids don't nap they do have the option to read/look at books quietly. The PK2 classroom has two restrooms with kiddo sized toilets and sinks. Each season brings new decorations to the classroom (and school). There are days when kiddo is having a rough morning and both Teacher Nikki and Teacher Monique are angels getting him into class quickly, settled and then sharing with us that he's ok which I so appreciate because there's nothing worse than leaving your kiddo in tears! The school overall Goddard does a host of extra activities- summer bbq, Father's Day celebration, Trunk-or-Treat, holiday concert to name a few. Each brings the Goodard teachers & families together in a special way, along all to get to know each other a little better, enabling us partner for our kid's. Goddard is a pretty special place.
