I have been wanting to try this place for over a year. We finally stopped by for lunch. I remember this used to be the location of a Chicago hot dog place that was really good. Stepping up to the cashier to order was already annoying as we didn't receive any greeting. I said hello to her, but she still just stared. So I started to order the Cali Twist with asada meat. The husband ordered the California burrito with pork. Drinks and any sides are not included. The soda machine was out of ice. Or so we thought. Someone from the back came out and pushed the handle harder in and out a few times till ice started coming out. Problem solved, I guess. Our food came out and honestly the flavor did not do it for me. Everything tasted normal with no appeal. Their house sauce kinda threw it off as well. It had a dijon mustard flavor in it. The burritos were a decent size and there were several burrito options on the menu. We came in for lunch on a Sunday and ordered at the counter and sat at a table with our number. The entire bar was covered with papers and binders which gave the restaurant a messy look. The tables and chairs also had greasy hand prints and crumbs all over. We ordered a California burrito to split between two people. I got one half with all of the beef and the other half was full of fried and pico. Overall, the burrito was greasy and subpar. It was one of those days where I just needed something filling, and I was also heading back to Austin that day so when I found this place, I was super excited. They have a good selection of food, but I knew I wanted the California burritos. They also have a happy hour menu where I got the Carnitas nachos to eat inside. :) For my To-go order, I bought a total of 4 California burritos with steak, and when I brought them home for the boys, they were nothing but satisfied. I especially like to get the Big Fat Greek Butrito (pictured) because I didn't expect to find it at a place like this, and it was surprisingly delicious. Great tzatziki sauce. California and Philly burritos are also excellent. I love eating the entire burrito, but unless you're starving, I'd recommend splitting the burrito with someone and getting chips on the side. Margs are awesome and really strong. You can get almost any flavor you want, topped with either salt, sugar, or chamoy (recommend this). The people here are nice with a really cool owner. Inside, you can expect a cool atmosphere that looks straight out of Austin's 6th street with a similar vibe as Freebirds and Schlotzsky's. I didn't say anything because I'm always afraid of something bad happening. Hubby said his food was aight. We came a bit far to visit but probably won't come back for some time. The hash-browns in the burritos are so delicious and absolutely make the difference. I am so excited to have found this place! It was SO tasty and indulgent. It was SO MUCH FOOD the portions are insane! It is a very chill place with some outdoor seating where we could eat with our dog. The service was extremely friendly. The food was like amazing food truck style food but from a sit down restaurant. I went with two friends so we tried a variety of things and loved it all. The only thing I would say is maybe a tiny bit less seasoning on the chips because at times it was too much with the other toppings but still so good! Stopped in for a quick lunch today and was not disappointed. The restaurant was full but not busy. We ordered Queso, which was awesome. It had cojita cheese, cilantro, and sriracha on top and it was served with some of the best seasoned tortilla chips I've ever had. After, I had the surf burrito with shrimp. It was packed with large shrimp and the house sauce was very tasty. My son had the chicken quesadilla with curly fries and he really loved the curly fries dipped in the Queso. Food is great. 100% worth it. Cost is a tick on the high side considering some other places that make the same items that I would see 4-5 at maybe they could look into that, but I get it revenue is revenue. They could use a bit more room and better AC, when you have a shop and it's 105 the excess in outdoor seating doesnt work for everyone. Now it's been 100-107 for weeks now so I cannot fault the HVAC unless they are just trying to save a buck. There is a tremendous echo in their location so prepare for it to be very noisy including their music. 9 out of 10 of their employees are great except the one who didn't listen to the order first time around. However again it's loud and they did promptly fix it. I would love to see them in a larger location maybe not at Summit Parkway and 410. Hopefully they grow and can in the future. Good luck to them. The tastiness was only enhanced by the homemade green and red sauce (the green kept on ice). This made the whole experience really good. There are murals by Valence Colton that adorn the walls and that makes the place so contemporary. Loved that side bit. The quantity was a lot and I was glad that the little one got a kid size but even that was hard to finish. Asada was done out of this world!!!!! There were close to 20 tables available for dining on-site which is a lot for this type of business. Two menu screens were hanging above the service counter. The left screen listed five breakfast burritos (available from 7 to 10 am), four "stuffed up" burritos, and guacamole and chips. The right screen displayed the "stuffed and loaded" munchies, kids' meals, and drinks. When I walked in, several customers were sitting at tables waiting for their food. A large family was at the front of the line which allowed more time for me to scan the menu more closely to decide what to order. My choice was a Cali Surf and Turf ($15.49). Being a resident of San Diego, I was quite familiar with a California Burrito so I wanted to see how their version stacked up. The components were carne asada, grilled shrimp, seasoned fries, cheese, crema, pico de gallo, and house sauce. In less than 10 minutes, a worker from the kitchen handed me a take-out bag containing my food. She asked if I wanted any salsa so I asked for the green variety. The burrito was quite hefty in size which was appropriate given the price tag. Everything was stuffed (like their business name) tightly inside the flour tortilla which had been grilled on the outside. The flavors were familiar while the proteins were juicy. I got it without any sauces or cheese because now only did I want to taste the basics of the asada, shrimp and fries without anything covering it for the first time, but I so wanted to see how big the burrito is with our those. It did not disappoint. The burrito was still large and filling. The shrimp and asada were delicious. The fries plumped it up a bit but not enough for you to feel like they were overstuffing the burrito with them. It was seriously good and i will be back for many more. My girlfriend, her family, and I came from Austin to try this burrito place because I have been searching for a California burrito place for the couple of years I will start by saying the food was phenomenal and we were both very impressed with the food.
