I have been having soot on my siding for the last few years from the gas fireplace Falco's…read moreinstalled for me. I took pictures a couple years ago and sent them to the service manager. He told me that was the way it was suppose to be. I have cleaned the siding myself or hired someone to power wash it for me. I I have it serviced by Falco's. I did the Preventive maintenance Oct. 23, 2024, just like I have in the past. After the Preventive Maintenance this year the soot was the worst I have eve seen . This year I took pictures and sent them to "Frost Fire Service" and asked if that was normal. He replied immediately and and said absolutely not. I made an appointment for him to come to my home. In fact I showed those pictures to my 101 year old dad and he took one look at it and said "Incomplete combustion". The owner of Frost Fire Service said, "your dad is right." He took my fireplace apart and showed me several things they missed or were doing wrong in their Preventive maintenance. Among other things: This is from Frost Fire's Annual Service and Cleaning: REPAIRED ELECTRODE SPARK CABLE END GASKET ON BOTTOM OF BURNER AT VENTURI TUBE, ADJUSTED MANIFOLD PRESURE AS IT WAS TO HIGH AT 4.9-IN WATER COLUMN, AND PROPERLY POSITIONED He also noted Because they did not use "BEST BUILDING PRACTICES WOULD HAVE HAD THIS TERMINAL CAP INSTALLED 24-IN BELOW THE VINYL SOFFIT INSTEAD OF 18-IN ESPECIALLY SEEING HOW THE NEAREST VENTILATION SOURCE IS 28-IN FROM CENTER OF CAP. He also suggested' "A VINYL SIDING STANDOFF ON THE EXHAUST TERMINAL SHOULD BE CONSIDERED". since it wasn't installed properly to begin with. I once more took pictures and the invoice with everything explained to FALCO's. I just wanted them to remove the soot this year because it was so bad and the tech caused problem.. Without looking at all the pictures I had or even coming to my home to look at it the service manager said it wasn't their responsibility. He said I should have called sooner. I clean the siding every year so there was nothing to see until after the stove was started and it accumulated like it did every year. The only time I am out where the soot is it is when I put my AC cover on in the fall and take it off in the spring. I turn off the gas fireplace every spring and have them service and start it in the fall In fact right after the service was done by them I called thinking the flame was too high. They emphasized it was done properly and if the service man came back there would be another service charge. I cancelled the appointment I made to have him come back because their answer is always "that's the way it is suppose to be and it was done right." Didn't need another $200.00+ service call. I notice a lot of other people have the same reaction from Falco's. All I was asking from Falcos was for them to clean the soot mess their tech created. I didn't want anything else. . i just want them to send someone out to clean my siding and soffit. There was a silver ling to this mess. I found Ryan the owner of "Frost Fire Service" that cares about the customer and does a thorough job for Preventive maintenance. I watched him just as I have watched Falco's tech. They were in and out and checked boxes they did things they didn't. I was a loyal customer for over 30 years with Falco's. We loved their nursery and they installed a free standing gas fireplace for us before. We got parts from them "thermo something". The pictures show all the soot on the side of the house and soffit, the soot on the windows of the fireplace that accumulated in just 6 months. It shows debris that shouldn't be there. burn from gasket that needed replace that should have been noticed. How the logs were placed by Falco and how they should of been place to avoid covering up "air holes?"

I'd love to leave a review on the craftsmanship of the "Stove Guy" but I cannot because I am not…read moreworthy of their time. Their customer service is abysmal and I would be embarrassed if I was the business owner. Any time you call the woman answering the phone complains at length about how many calls she's had to answer "40 calls this morning, it's a Monday, so I didn't have time to really listen to your message but I got the gist". She makes it very clear that my business isn't needed but they'll do me a favor by running their business. After trying three times to make an appointment for a quote and not getting a call back I eventually got a hold of them and scheduled something out several months. I made an appointment for 10am. The receptionist calls at 8:24 to confirm my appointment between 9:30-10 I told her my appointment was for 10 and I had a phone meeting at 9:00. She tells me that it's my fault and I should have known that 10 was just an approximation. She calls back at 8:45 and tells me "actually he's already on his way out there. I told him you had a meeting at 9 and he said he would be there already". So my meeting is cancelled and I head over to the property by 9. I wait 2 hours and he never shows up. I call the office multiple times and eventually the receptionist calls back and tells me I'm not allowed to be upset. The guy will get there when he gets there and that she's "not going to deal with" me because I'm lucky I got an appointment with them because they are so busy. I asked her to have him call me when he gets to the property and I will meet him there. News flash. He didn't show.

I even called to gently remind them and they still didn't send it. Everything happens for a reason though and I am so happy we were forced to look elsewhere and got referred to Black's instead. Our gutters had been destroyed by ice dams this past winter and were beyond repair. Plus, they were cheap and never really held up that great to begin with. Unfortunately, I didn't realize how cheap my old gutters were until I saw the quality materials used by Black's. Not only did we replace all the gutters around the house, we decided to get covers and heat strips added as well. Big job! They are not cheap but quality work comes at a price. Recently, we had our front yard landscaped and I was very concerned it would be destroyed by falling debris. These guys were amazing. They did an outstanding job and took care to not damage my new landscaping. They did such a good job, I had their masonry dept. come out to fix our rock, light pillars at the end of my driveway (also destroyed by the harsh winter). Again, an amazing, professional job! I would recommend them to anyone. It is refreshing to have such a reliable company, esp. with all they flakey contractors I've been dealing with lately. Communication was outstanding!

My woodstove from maybe the mid 1970s was in dire need of being replaced as well as all the pipes…read moreand outside chimney. I gathered three estimates and went with Wing for a couple reasons - and not just price. I had no idea what the cost would be, so I took photos and measurements of my current set up and shared them with the sales person Zack. In addition to being an old stove, it was also a smaller one and not our main heat source. I wanted to keep the same footprint and location as well. Zack helped me search through the inventory to find the right shape and size that allowed for the same size cut logs we were already using. He then gave me prices and set up an appointment for an estimate for the total job. Estimate accepted and installation appointment made - I was told it would take them about four hours. Day of installation I was surprised to see it was just ONE person. But he wasn't concerned and got right to work removing the old system and putting in the new one. With one person it took just a couple hours longer. Once finished, it was ready to go. He cleaned up everything and demonstrated how the new stove worked - and yes, it was different than ours which was just a box and a chimney - no air source or anything. Then came the tally and actual costs. Turned out there were a couple of items ordered but not needed, so I received a refund in a very timely manner. After the fact, I found that Clean Air Spokane offered a rebate for putting in a certified stove or switching from wood to gas. I got a certificate to give to Wing, and they cut me a check for the rebate amount! What a great deal and surprise. Note - I would check there first to see what rebates are offered and which companies honor them before getting it installed. Great experience for what was a very big project in my experience. The new stove is SO efficient and easy to use, I wish I had done it sooner. All the folks at the showroom/office were very helpful and professional.

Our daughter moved into the rental this summer but as the weather has turned cold this fall and they tried the stove in wouldn't start. I called Wing thinking they'd helped us in the past and I got the receptionist, apparently. I explained our problem but she said all the technicians were busy on the showroom floor. She assured me they'd call as soon as they got back to their desks. So I waited. And waited, and waited. No call back. So I called back and the woman very rudely told me they were still busy. I said ok and she hung up. Rude. I called someone else and Wing never did call me back.

Helped us pick out a fireplace that met our needs, they came and removed our old one. Told us it should be about a week to get the new one in. After two weeks without hearing anything I sent this email to them. "Just checking to see if there's an update on our fireplace. The last I heard you were hoping for an arrival last week and an install the beginning of this week. Thanks." I never received a response. After a few days I called and talked to Ron. He told me they were still waiting on a few parts. I said ok, I would just wait to hear from them. About 3-4 days later I receive a check in the mail from them refunding my deposit. When I call to figure out what is going on, they tell me that based on the email I sent I seemed upset and they feel that they can't satisfy us. I have no idea what type of business they are trying to run, I just know that I am left stuck with a hole in my den that I've had for the past few weeks already that I now have to start the process all over to find someone to install a fireplace. Crazy.
