I recently received microblading services from Sandy at StudioBrowsEtc and couldn't be happier. My natural eyebrows are sparse, blonde and have always been a facial feature I wish I could change but tattooing was never something I'd consider. When I found out about microblading, I began researching different spas that offered this service through Instagram. I was impressed with Sandy's work on a variety of different skin types, and her ability to make the end result look so natural! I was expecting it to be a painful experience but it wasn't at all. Update: 10 months later and I've had to spend a twice as much to get a brow cover up by a proper,…read morereputable artist. It's not a matter of touch-up, this needed cover up, colour correcting, and took two sessions to fix. The issue is that MK Brows simply don't know what they are doing. On their dominant hand they pressed too hard which resulted in one very dark brow (& healing was much more painful). On the other side they were reaching across and did the tattoo too light and much of it didn't take, hence I have one light brow and one dark. Reputable tattoo artists know this and accommodate for it. As I left the salon, my brows looked so uneven I had to ask for correction, which was done by tattooing a skin-colour pigment over her previous work. It looks like a scar under my brow and only tattoo removal could properly correct it.

She stays quite busy, but if I need to reschedule, I will suggest date & time, and she will either confirm or give suggestion of next available day and time. She follows up with a confirmation text and reminder texts. She truly is gifted and I'm in love with her work, as anybody would if you book with her. The lash studio was superrrrr clean and it smelled... amazing! the lash removal cream she used also smelled so so good. Everything in this place just smells tutti frutti! While she was taking my lashes off, she educated me some bit on how lashes work, whats the best kind of curl to have for my eyes, how to make them last longer, how to wash them properly and so on. It made the atmosphere very friendly and not awkward at all. I heavily recommended this place to my mom so she can try it out. After weeks of playing phone tag with Shainy, I booked an evening appointment. Now that's convenient! Everyone has always alluded to the fact that she's "expensive" but no one had admitted the amount to me. Well my friends...that amount is $35. Shocking, I know...but when you've been scarred (not physically, or maybe you have) by bad eyebrow shapings, you don't want to take any chances. Her place is hard to find if you rely on a shoddy GPS (turn left on 5th if you're heading north on Heights blvd). She's the yellow house...entrance is down the stone path on the right and leads to the back of the house. It was an interesting set up and I definitely had some awkward moments there in the tiny room, but she did a fantastic job on my brows. I asked her not to use wax since I use Retin-A on my face, and she happily obliged. She threads the top but tweezes to shape them. They have never been more even. Pricey? Yes. But worth it if your regular place is inconsistent and sends you home with funky brows sometimes.

Almost forgot, she'll have a little feature in Instyle Magazine October (they called her for an interview! totally surprised her, lol). I don't know if she minds me saying this but if you bring in an October 2010 copy of Instyle you'l get 10% off your brow waxing. Love her and really excited for her :)
