I don't leave reviews, but I felt it was essential to share my experience so others don't waste their time or money. Unfortunately, my experience at MDH was really disappointing. I went in fooled by their perfectly curated social media but what you see online does not reflect the quality of work or environment in person. I overlooked the negative reviews because I was impressed with their social media, but they were all accurate. The salon is unwelcoming and the stylist are ego-driven, it was clear from the moment I walked in that not all clients are treated equally. My hair didn't turn out even close to the inspo picture I shared, I left unhappy and reached out within a week for them to correct it. They were unwilling to take me! I was shocked by the lack of care and professionalism. Their priority is maintaining an image that they perfectly show on social media, not providing clients with respect. If you're looking for service and talent that matches the hype, I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

I was really disappointed with the booking process at this salon. Before you can even schedule an appointment, you're required to upload a photo. On the form, you're asked to choose who you'd like to see--I selected Miguel. Shortly after, I was told he wasn't available. I asked to be booked as far out as necessary just to see him, but then I was informed that he would never be available and that I could not book with him at all. At that point, they started pushing me to book with someone else I didn't request. Only then did they mention that Miguel only works on "special projects"--a detail that was never disclosed upfront. The whole process felt misleading and left me questioning whether my photo influenced their decision. There was no transparency, and it raised serious concerns about fairness. My hair stylist Miguel - a hair god with the most angelic personality - has worked wonders on my hair! From blonde, to brown and long, to short... He's done it all for me and has always left me looking/feeling amazing! I'm not sure if he is currently taking new clients, but I could confidently say, the entire team is spectacular. Olga, Josh Jenny... all so fabulous! The place is located in a small shopping area right on flagler by a Sedanos. But don't let that little spot fool you, inside it's marble floors and modern vibes. I've heard excellent things about this salon and was excited to book an appointment while I'm in town. Unfortunately, I've been trying to get in contact with the salon for over a week. No one answers my call, sometimes the phone goes straight to voicemail even during business hours. I've left two voicemails and have also tried contacting them via text (another option they offer) but have had no luck. I really wanted to book with this salon but it's such a shame they're being unresponsive. I am incredibly disappointed with the poor service I received. I went in today for a relaxing hair treatment that I loved when I had it done a year ago. This time, however, a new person applied the product, and I could tell she was sloppy and didn't apply it evenly from the roots to the ends. I expressed my concerns during the application, but no one addressed them. At the end of my treatment, my hair was completely frizzy with patches of straightness and frizziness. I called to speak with the manager, Michelle, who suggested I come back in so they could take a look. I explained that I live hours away and a quick visit would mean a 4.5-hour round trip. Michelle simply said that was her solution. When I asked to speak with the owner, she told me the owner does not speak to customers. The service was incredibly poor, and I am very unhappy with the resolution offered. I would definitely not recommend this place. read more

I've been coming to this salon since 2020, and always had a pleasant experience till today when I went to get a root touch up, I booked the appointment 4 weeks ago with the lady who's been doing my hair for years now. When I arrived to my appointment they try to get the assistant to do my root touch up, when I booked the appointment no one told me that the assistant would be doing my hair, never asked if I was ok with that, mind you the touch is $60.00 plus tip, if an assistant is going to do my hair there is no way I'm paying full price. After almost 6 months waiting for my appointment and even having confirmed it int he morning of the day before, they send me a text stating that Miguel had downsized his client list and I had to choose among the other hairstylists.....I called the guy and explained him that I have been going with Miguel for 4 consecutive years but last year I got into an argument with the receptionist they had and she would not pick up my calls. However, deciding that Miguel was not doing my hair a day before my appointment was very unfair and unprofessional, his words were..."well I dont have an answer for that" to everything I asked him, I do agree that Miguel is really good and I love his work but being treated like one in a pile is really disgusting coming from a salon with such a reputation. Make an appt at MDH. The negative reviews are comical because I've never had a poor experience with them. Their products are NOT cheap, some of them you can't even purchase at a store. Complaining because an assistant is working on you to assist with a root touchup, or because they've been asked to assist with removing foils so the stylist can begin coloring another client says more about you than it does the salon. One of the things I appreciate the most is that the stylists take their time to mentor students. Kiki started off as one of the assistants & is now a junior stylist at the salon with her own clientele. They support these kids who's goal is to make it in the industry and Miguel has done such an incredible job at making sure those who really want a chance at success work their asses off to earn a seat at the MDH table. Them being booked months in advance speaks volumes about their craft. Having multiple clients at a time speaks volumes about their craft. If you prefer to have an appointment where it's just you and the stylist, then book with someone who will surely charge you more because they have to pay their rent at a private salon suite. I saw Miguel in attempts to go from my virgin black hair, to electric blue (yesssss, my entire head needed to be bleached). I was hesitant in booking since I knew my hair would probably be pretty damaged... WRONG! As I said before, Miguel's talents proved this to be A WALK IN THE PARK. She had the assistant "supposedly" looking after me but kept forgetting about me and then was providing feedback right in front of me! I don;t recommend this place at all. They use cheap products that damage your hair and they way over charge you for their services. The photos that they put in their publicity don't match the service. They take advantage and abuse you once you are in their place. They ask a non refundable deposit of 150 for just making an appointment and once you are there they charge you a lot more. I ended to pay 800 dollars for a bad bad service. Please don't go. They know what they are doing and to protect them they write their policy and prices on their website. Not recommend this place, be careful. read more
