Studio Branca is pricey, but they are so good at hair color. I love the neck and shoulder massage Lauren,my stylist, gives me in the chair before she begins. I could just come in for the the neck massage alone. An added bonus is the scalp massage during shampooing. Studio Branca moved to a new location on Chesterfield Airport Road. First, I want to say the staff at Studio Branca in Chesterfield are exceptional and beyond amazing! Not only do I highly recommend them, but I also want to give a shout out to 3 absolute angels who made this an enjoyable, memorable and meaningful experience. Two stylists in particular went above and beyond for my 80-year-old mother-in-law who desperately needed a color correction just days before traveling to a Celebration of Life for her sweet husband of 61 years. My mother in-law had gone to a lower end salon for hair color and decided quickly after that the color just wasn't "her". She proceeded to go to a beauty supply store to purchase product to try to correct it which left her with a head full of bright mustard yellow hair. Overwhelmed with the loss of her husband and being distraught over how she looked in this horrible color, she called us in tears. I quickly called Studio Branca moments before they were closing and spoke with this lovely girl, Lianna, who listened patiently while I was trying to relay details to her from my mother-in-law in hopes of booking an emergency consultation appointment. Lianna booked her for the following morning & upon arrival, met us at the reception area where she listened compassionately while my mother-in-law shared her story while giving her kind words of encouragement and empathy. Soon after, we met Erika Dillender and little did we know at the time, Erika was going to perform hair miracles along with the assistance of Jamie Healy. There are a lot of uncertainties with color correction and after the consultation, even though they were very busy and we had not booked a color correction appointment, Erika decided she was not letting my mother-in-law leave until she looked beautiful and felt confident, knowing that the days ahead for her will be hard enough and very special as she honors her husband at his Celebration of Life. Until Erika put the color remover on, we didn't know exactly what we were working with and what could be accomplished that morning. The color remover removed the yellow which is all we could ask for and her hair was then a very light auburn but dull. Being booked for the day, she could have told her that she didn't have time to add color as we only booked a consultation. She could have asked her to book another appointment. We would have been thankful the yellow was gone but Erika was determined to go above and beyond to make sure she looked vibrant and felt beautiful. Because she was booked, she enlisted the help of another stylist, Jamie Healy, who is just as much of an "Angel" as Erika is. Together, they worked in tandem to perfect my mother in law's hair. During this entire time, I cannot express how much love and compassion and pure genuine care was given from Lianna, Erika and Jamie. They took this 80-year-old distraught women who had been crying all night, and turned her into this confident, beautiful woman she always has been, with the most gorgeous, vibrant, warm brown color. It looks breathtaking! Lianna, Erika and Jamie, our family cannot thank you enough and are indebted to you for all you did, not only professionally, but also the genuine compassion you showed my mother-in-law! She will only go to Studio Branca from now on for all her hair needs! You three are truly Angels on Earth! read more

I am really sorry to be writing this review, because the salon in general was so nice at first and took care of me. My complaint is with the stylist Kristie, who failed to give back a full pack of tape ins after removing my hair last winter (less than a year ago) and the salon who did not believe me or even try to solve this issue with me. I was never late or missed an appointment until the last time I had an appointment. It was my last because of how I was treated. I was on my last week of pregnancy and accidentally slept through my appointment. She charged me the full price of my service instead of half or a portion like what is fair and usual practice. I was so torn on coming back I was hurt and also felt bad about the no show. But I soon realized that it is not custom to do this especially to a customer that has not done that before. I bought hair product, I came in on time, tipped well...I was a good customer and still I'm treated like this. On top of that when I ask for my hair back, not only did I get the run around for at least a month about it and no real message from Kristie trying to talk about it or make it better..she did not give back all of my hair. It's not about the money, it's the principal of it. If it was about the money, I wouldn't have easily spent so much on services and product. My regret is letting them charge me full price on a service not rendered, that is unfair. It is also illegal to steal something that is paid for by someone else. I never received my tape ins back, and the salon won't even try and reimburse me for it. They think I'm lying apparently, why would I lie? I could have saved all of this time and effort. I don't think it necessary to do this for something I already have. I could have easily moved on if that were the case, and would have been preferred. I do not make things up to just waste my time, I do this when I am mistreated blatantly more than once and then not believed when I say something about it. As this was going on I also heard many stories from at least 3 different ladies (who referred me to Kristie and who I referred to Kristie) who no longer go to Kristie because of her mal-practices. The salon never called me back when trying to resolve this issue, I took months trying to resolve it and I was never believed. Every time I called I was told I'd be called back and I was never called back. There is some shady things going on and I'm not the only one that that's gone through things like this with her. I even took a picture of what I received and I was still not believed, they insist I have all of my hair. But how do they know? The stylist kept client hair at her own house, and not at the salon. I had bought a volume weft and a pack of tape ins because of the shaved side of my head. It's on Kristies instagram even what she put in my hair. I only got back the weft and not the tape ins. So no, I did not get back all of my hair. read more

I was looking for a new hair salon and had made an appointment several days in advance for 2:50 on 10/2/2019. I scheduled my day and evening plans around the appointment and to my very unpleasant surprise I got a call at 2:45 stating that Tom Seymour would not be able to do my hair at that time and would be atleast one hour or more to fit me in. When I asked why didn't he know of this situation an hour ago the receptionist had no reply. My time is as valuable as there appointments are to the salon and therefore I will not reschedule and deal with a hair salon that handles there customers in this manner. read more

I received hair extensions recently and was quoted $381 for the hair and $400 for hair to be installed. I also had to get my hair colored some to match extensions which I was expecting to be $200 or so. At checkout I was charged an additional $82 to cut 3 pieces of hair off of the extensions and $47 for "gloss" they put on hair extensions which I never seen done. I would have clipped my own 3 pieces and glossed my own hair! My stylist did a fantastic job on my extensions but the Salon needs to be upfront with pricing!! If you go there bring about $500 extra dollars because there is going to be shit added on you were never told! read more

I have been going to a "Branca" a salon since I was 16 years old. I started going to my old stylist, Harlee, who did a FABULOUS job. She developed the perfect color formula for me and she never pressured me into getting my hair cut (I only get it cut once per year). I would even drive home from college (in Iowa) to have her do my hair. A few years after my initial visit, Salon Branca opened up in Chesterfield and Harlee was going to transfer to that location. Even though it was very far away from my home, I made the move with her. I'm so glad that I did! Harlee eventually left the salon to start a family, but she left me in the very capable hands of Jaime. I've been with Jamie for two years now, and I absolutely love her. She follows my color formula perfectly and, even after coloring, my hair is always healthy and vibrant. I even have my mother and sister going to her now. I have wanted to get my hair cut in a short style for a long time to get rid of my over-processed color. After researching salons in the area, I picked Salon Branca, made a reservation, and got matched with Jessica who had time in her schedule to fit me in on short notice. Salon Branca is a beautiful salon. The interior is elegant; the displays are attractive, and the staff is helpful. When I walked in, the receptionist greeted me and offered me something to drink while I waited for Jessica to finish up with her last client. I didn't have to wait long. When Jessica came out, she was very friendly and led me back to her station so she could chat with me about what I wanted. I had never met her before or had any dealings with Salon Branca, but she quickly put me at ease as she tried to understand what I wanted. She asked detailed questions about my hair and the look that I wanted. I told her that I wanted to cut out the processed hair color, expecting that she would protest about this decision. However, Jessica was very supportive and didn't pressure me into any services that I didn't want. I'm grateful that she didn't try to persuade me to keep coloring. After I explained what I wanted, Jessica got out her phone and googled some pictures so she had more clarity about my hairstyle choice. I appreciate how conscientious she was about getting the look right even before she picked up a pair of scissors. Before she took me to the washing station, she gave me a super head massage to relax me. It was fantastic. She was very gentle washing my hair and made sure that the water wasn't too hot. After she finished, once again, I got another scalp massage. So relaxing. I even forgot to be anxious about cutting off three inches of hair. Jessica got to work on my hair, and she talked with me the entire time, getting to know me, and sharing information about herself so that I was comfortable with her. Her outgoing nature helped keep me calm as I watched her cut my hair. She also talked to me about what she was doing so that I wouldn't be so nervous. When she finished with everything, she showed me my new style, and it was exactly what I had discussed with her. I was so impressed and felt beautiful! Jessica praised my bravery for walking into a brand new salon and getting such a big change, but I credit her for doing such amazing work. I will definitely be back. Jessica treated me like I had been a long-time client of hers. She cared about what i wanted, she listened, and she expertly cut my hair. Then she gave me a quick tutorial so that I can manage the style myself. Yes, the salon is pricey, but it's worth the money. Ask for Jessica, if you make a reservation. I was impressed by the amount of time she spent with me before I even made an appointment. I have been to her twice and I'm confident that she will be my forever stylist. I would never get hair extension services from this salon! I had the sew in, bead, weft extensions. Not only was the quality of the hair provided absolutely terrible but the technique used for "move ups" broke off my natural hair. The hair they used broke off 7 inches in less than 6 months. It broke off and was super uneven! I used all of the recommended products, maintained all of my appointments on time, and treated the hair as the investment is it. The technique the stylist used to move up (also referred to as bump up) the extensions was back combing my natural hair and clamping it into the bead which in turn left me with major damage on my natural hair. The move ups were done about every 6-8 weeks and I didn't know until I got my hair taken out how much damage was actually done. This was absolutely not a normal amount of natural hair fall out. I brought the situation to my stylist's attention and told her how I was embarrassed about how my hair looked and after waiting several weeks for a solution/response and getting no where I had to go to an actual professional to get my hair taken care of. I spent thousands of dollars on this service and I will never recommend this salon or return after the incredibly unprofessional experience I had. read more

Salon Branca is a place you can truly let your hair down. I followed my best friend here a few years ago and I've been coming back ever since. We love to book back-to-back appointments on Saturdays and spend the day getting pampered by our rock star stylist Melissa. She's fun, talented and has a special knack for giving me the exact look I want but can never seem to articulate. Thanks to Melissa, I always leave feeling pretty and relaxed. Afterwards we spend the day basking in compliments from friends and strangers. The entire experience is worth every penny (and the drive from downtown to Chesterfield). Hands down the worst haircut of my adult life. I've had better haircuts in remote villages in France where the gene pool has remained virtually undisturbed during the past 300 years and with "nary" a foreigner in their midst. Ultimately, I left this establishment feeling degraded. The stylist was quick to list , among other things, the erratic nature of my hair growth pattern.( I've never had a stylist ask me to hold down my ears before. I suppose in her eyes my ears were equally unruly.) Presumably, this was enough to excuse the fact that when she'd .... finished with me... my hair was literally lopsided . This is an elite institution. Elitie stylists in hyper image-conscious, 21st century America are held to a higher standard and should be able to manage "outlying" phenotypes competently and uncomplainingly. If you're a guy in his 30s/early 40s I'd steer clear of this establishment. Studio Branca has a great reputation in town ... and deservedly: members of my family were regular clients at Studio Bronca during its genesis and throughout the 90s and early 2000s. But after my most recent experience there I'll not be returning. The staff were otherwise quite friendly. I had originally made an appointment for myself by looking online for THE BEST HAIR COLOR in St Louis. With this salon's RAVE reviews, as well as NUMEROUS HORRIBLY DISAPPOINTING experiences at a salon that I'd been going to for YEARS (both for me and my husband), I decided that I didn't care how long I had to wait, and that the only thing that mattered to me is that I have the best colorist and stylist they had. They gave me an appointment for two weeks away. Then the day before my appointment my amazing hubby asks if I can call and set an appointment for a haircut for him, and they get him in at the same time as my appointment. When we got there we were happily greeted by a guy who offered us a list of things he could bring us to drink, from water to iced tea to coffee to wine! THEN, right when you think that means you're gonna wait for a bit, we sit down on a COMFY bench and are IMMEDIATELY greeted by our stylists and are taken back. My stylist took me on a tour of the whole salon so I felt comfortable and welcome, as though I was in her own home! Then she led me to her chair and pulled up another one to really talk to me about my hair. She asked how I like to wear it, what I do to style it, what I do to take care of it. And it didn't feel like a rushed conversation either, as though she was fishing for information. She was honestly GETTING TO KNOW ME so she could give me exactly what ***I*** wanted and not what she thought I should have! SHE REALLY CARED THAT I FELT GOOD ABOUT MY HAIR WHEN I LEFT HER!!! IT WAS SOOOO AMAZING!!!!! Never have I EVER had that kind of an experience with a stylist before. Then I found out she is the OWNER!! I AM STILL SOOOO IMPRESSED that she made time for ME in her schedule, and also took soooo much care to make sure I was well taken care of and comfortable (i'm in a lot of physical pain right now)!!! She cut my hair ddry to accentuate my natural curly wave, to flatter the structure of my face and to "thicken" my hair cut back up after my last one had been SOOOOO BAD and thinned out my style and made it look so STRINGY. And then she did a full foil with PERFECT COLORS for my skin tone and eyes. YES! THAT'S RIGHT! She took ALLLL that into consideration!!! IT WAS A DREAM COME TRUE!!! A PERFECT SALON EXPERIENCE! And then my beautiful husband came up after his hair cut, and HE'D had an AMAZINGLY impressive experience with his stylist as well!!! WE'RE SOLD!!!!!
