Caution: long review Short version: great price to quality…read moreratio, service is pretty great, location is good, and I am happy to keep coming back. I met the owner of Meraki Styles Salon last year (2019) after trying to find a salon when moving to Pittsburgh. Usually I stay with a salon because of the location but in this rare occasion I decided to follow the stylist when she opened up on her own. Location: the space is very nice. Minimalistic, with four chairs and a google assistant to set the mood - when she wants to cooperate. Cut: It is hard to judge a cut for everybody to judge, because it's personal style. But Bri's been cutting my hair now for a year now and I keep going back. But seriously. I had it cut every six weeks and I'm happy that my layers grows in very evenly. So even if you're jot a pro, like I am not it still continues to look good. When I come for balayage the process takes about 2 hours and I came out with really cute curls. See picture. Also ps: I keep asking her to curl it when I go but I really like it straight I hope she chuckles when I admit this on yelp Price: this is pretty fabulous. I pay as much for my haircut as my boyfriend. Bri is very fair and is able to cut and/or in an efficient way with pleasant conversation while giving you a homey feeling. Overall quality: I want to give her a five star but I'm a bit worried about how many reviews that are good have been hidden by the yelp algorithm, which is a little concerning for me looking at a new business that opened during corona season. I know this review is long, but I hope it helps.

When looking for a beauty parlor where hair solutions are needed, I am glad to have found Salon…read moreIaomo. Medically induced alopecia is no fun and with what hair I have left requires delicate care. I met with Maureen one of their experts in the field and we discussed obtaining a hair topper to give me volume and coverage needed so that my thinning hair isn't as sensitive to normal cold weather. They sell both human hair and synthetics wigs, as well as toppers. Maureen was very compassionate and understanding. She helped me find a basic topper which can be color matched to my own hair and cut appropriately. I like the fact that the topper just clips to my hair and I can still care for my regular hair as I am accustomed to . With a Yelp check in you are entitled to 20% off any service which I will find helpful in the future. The salon has 3 private beauty rooms as well as a public area and another room for special treatments. The private rooms have a TV in them as well. I'm glad they have these rooms since when dealing with a delicate situation, I feel more comfortable. In the main waiting room you can get free popcorn, cold canned beverages, coffee, and water. Restrooms are located just outside the salon and you take a key if you need to go there. I liked the fact that the worked with me to find as close to the color match as my hair so that it will look natural. Learning how to care for a topper will take practice but I'm glad they helped me find one I would be happy with. Note-they do not accept checks for payment however, both cash and credit cards are acceptable. They do give you advance notice of your appts as missed appts will result in a cancellation fee. Expect to pay more here but on the flip side you are getting quality and a very knowledgable staff. Salon Iaomo is located on Greentree Rd next to the Greentree Inn. You have to enter however, by turning down Western Ave and then turn left into their parking lot. They are open Tue-Sat. When scheduling it is a good idea to book out in advance as slots are taken up fast. Looking forward to working with Maureen for my future hair needs.
