Stylist comes out and does not greet me instead goes to phone and makes call clearly annoyed about something. Showed her pic and asked her how she planned on cutting to get the style I was looking for. She actually got mad. Explained I wanted layers blended as my hair tends to lump with the wrong cut. Ok she says. First thing wrong was she cut straight across ears. No layers as in pic and pic was not cut straight across. I don't like hair like that. Now I have a lump that is still growing out. The back was to be tapered inward. It's not. She left long layers in back and clumps from another bad cut I'd had elsewhere. Plus the side was not to be cut in a step. It looks like a bad Joe Dirt gone wrong. Pic had sides at an angle. One side has section of no layers and the other side has layers. Just awful. The conversation was strained and she was extremely argumentative. One of the worst places.

My haircut and highlight was magnificent. Colleen listened to what I wanted, helped guide me to what i needed, and the result was perfect. Just the right amount of color. Stylists of my past typically go too little or too much, this was just right! The length and the style was so perfect it was like she could see the picture in my mind of what i wanted. And then as if this wasn't enough, the price was just right. It is so exhausting to go to a salon and feel like you just made a house payment....you will not feel that here. The owner is amazing, friendly, and makes sure everyone gets great treatment. They can amazingly actually style men's hair as well as women's which seems to be a common fail point for many other establishments. I noticed a few mentioned Monica below and their positive experiences. I was surprised by this as I have not had her as a stylist but have seen her interactions and honestly dislike being in her presence. Based on the reviews below, I will try to give her another shot....maybe I was having a bad day. I will update that portion of my review when that occurs. The biggest reason for not giving a 5-star is that a few of the staff I would consider somewhat unprofessional (which in some ways lends toward the friendly environment in many cases) and the establishment itself is in an old house so the layout and design isn't the greatest. With that said, these are factors that usually play very heavily in my decisions of where I want to go for various services but the quality of their service and the value really make it worthwhile.
