Personally I am utterly appalled at my experience with this place. At 11:30am we walk into the salon and promptly greeted by a lady. She asks if we called ahead and responded by saying no. She quickly says they are very busy with back to school and suggests that I should have called. First, I didn't realize they were by appointment, but I guess the policy has changed. She says that the earliest she could get us in would be 12:45pm. I told her that it would not work for us and left. Around 1pm I called and asked if there would be any availability in the afternoon and the person on the phone said I should come in around 2:15pm and maybe they could get me in at that time.
Myself, my son and my daughter who have been there on countless occasions in 5 years show up at 2:08pm and wait until 2:25pm. We are now with the same lady whom we spoke with in the morning. She puts a booster seat down and gestures my son to sit down. He starts squirming and starts to become frustrated and uncomfortable. I said that he will sit on my lap and then starts putting capes on both of us. She asks what I want for him and I said that we can do trimmers because he has had them before. My son is 2 with a speech delay and can't communicate clearly by speaking his frustrations. She kept asking me what size trimmers, what to use, how to trim....making me very confused. I truly am not familiar with hair or how to cut, hence why I was at a HAIR SALON for a SERVICE and she could have made some suggestions! I have no idea what to use or how to use it on a 2 year old boy. I mentioned that I just wanted it cleaned up and trimmed.
She starts using the trimmer and he was calm for a few moments. Hair starts falling all in his face, making him frustrated and then starts crying. She continues to use a scissors, and clumps of hair are falling so much into his face that he is screaming, and crying and very frustrated. The other girls were staring, not once did anyone try to calm the situation or see what else could be done to finish or make his hair somewhat presentable so we could stop...but had the time to stare and to look at us like he was a nuisance. In fact the lady that was cutting his hair just kept chopping trying to get it over with while my son was so frustrated, screaming and crying. So much hair was all over the place that I was covered, my sons face was covered, and he was coughing cause hair was in his mouth. In fact the lady asked us if we needed a towel so we could wipe his face. SERIOUSLY, this is a 2 year old boy!!!
I wanted to get out of there so bad, my boy kept saying Yuck Mommy, Yuck! The lady kept suggesting what was wrong, and what happened, and what's the matter. He has been there on other occasions and no problems. I have never wanted to get out of a place as bad as I did in that moment. In fact it was best my children were with me and I couldn't say anything. In fact the 5 minutes it took to drive home he kept touching his hair saying Yuck Mommy, Yuck, No and crying. Mind you it took 15 minutes in a tub to wash all the hair from his face, neck and body. I am utterly distraught over this situation. I will never recommend, or step foot into this place again. Going forward you should be more sensitive to children's needs if you call this a "family friendly" place! I have never spent one day in Cosmetology school but just because you have a licence and passed, that might not give you the credentials to be caring and sensitive! Thank you for the next time he needs a hair cut, considering the chopped up job that was done to get us out of there, I will have to do this all over in another week or so!! read more
