Finally made it here after my mani/pedi maven, Alicia, left the salon I usually frequent. Got my hair cut and colored by Jordan yesterday. I have received so many complements already! I am very happy. Curly hair is tough to style, but she did an excellent job. I also want to say that she and everyone else there is very sweet, personable and knowledgeable. I was in desperate need of a haircut and was having a hard time finding anyone in the area that hasn't screwed up my hair already. That is when I found Twisted Scissors. Located on MacArthur rd just past Redners. I was lucky enough to get an appointment late on a Friday afternoon, the shop was a bit busy (as expected) but I was still greeted with a smile and offered a drink while I waited. My appointment was with Erin and she was right on time. I came in for a cut and color. Erin did a fabulous job on both. T.S is officially my go to salon now. Because of weather I was almost an hour late. They accommodated me, they were friendly and did everything they could in the time I gave them! I went to Jordan. Got a marvelous cut and the price was fair. From a long to a medium cut, it was $25. The next week I went for color. Although it is nothing I planned, it looks fabulous and I trusted Jordan. Color was a bit more, obviously, but it included, full color, highlights, and toner for $120. read more

I needed to get a hair cut and my 2 sisters and 2 nieces go to Twisted Scissors and love how Erin cuts their hair. So I had to go. My hair was really long. Almost down to my waist at the longest point and I was scared about getting it cut shoulder length. Erin was great. She said we can do a little at a time if you want or just do it. I decided just to plunge forward and get it cut to my shoulders. She did a wonderful job in cutting my hair. It feels to so and so healthy it's amazing. I am so glad I decided to have this done. I've lived in Whitehall my entire life and never knew about twisted scissors. I have very long hair and I'm very careful with who I let touch it!!! I just got my hair done at twisted scissors yesterday and it looks great. She didn't take too much off of the length, just enough so that it would remain healthy. Also sometimes it's hard to explain what color you want even with a picture. Jaime got it on point. I would recommend Jaime the red haired lady. I'm not from around here, but while in town visiting family, I was in desperate need of a haircut. I Yelp "haircut" and up comes Twisted Scissors with great reviews, particularly for a stylist with my same name, Jordan. I take this as a good sign, call, and book an appointment for the same day. The shop is great. Modern. Funky. True to its inspired name.. A guy can walk in there and get a cut without checking his balls at the door. (I should mention, all the women I caught sight of working there...total smoke show!) Jordan was true to review. She trimmed me up and had me in and out of there in 20 minutes. That's impressive as I have so many cowlicks, you'd think I grew up on an Amish dairy farm. The receptionist (maybe owner?) is so rude and condescending on the phone. This is the second time I've had this problem with her, too. She talked down to me, cut me off, and when she finally took a second to listen to what I was asking for and realized that it was the simplest request possible, her behavior was so nasty that she burned that bridge and I had to hang up, and wouldn't even buy a gift card for someone else from this establishment. This woman is doing a major disservice to her employees by her crappy attitude with customers. Thumbs down, lady. read more

Had my hair cut a few weeks ago. Jordan did a great job! Thank you! The person I used to have my hair cut by I do not believe was professionally trained. It took coming here to know what a real haircut is. Prices are reasonable for women's cut, wash, style; I paid $28.00 without tip. They also do nails, what services I don't know for sure. I would highly recommend them to anyone, make sure you get Jordan, that's who did mine!! Also I called on a Tuesday and they got me in the next day. Really great! read more

I visit Twisted Scissors weekly for the past 8 years. All of the stylists are friendly and Sherry the owner/receptionist always welcomes me with a happy greeting. The stylists are always taking education classes and bringing in thr lastest new products to stay up to date. There is always beverages available and seasonal candy and decorations. If you are looking for a friendly atmosphere off talented stylists I highly recommend Twisted Scissors. read more

I am literally in shock at how the owner/receptionist acted. I came here 3 previous times over the last year and liked that it was close to my home. The last time I saw Emily, who is fairly new. I have no issues with the stylists, they are very friendly and do a nice job. My color wasn't as expected at first, but Emily made sure I was happy before I left and the end result is great. Before I came in, I called to schedule my appt. The stylist had previously given me a card that said "10% off first service". I took that mean 10% off my first returning service with her. When I made the appt, the receptionist (who is also the owner) told me I was entitled to 10% off a cut. I told her the card said service and she was hesitant but told me she would honor it off the cut and color and "have a talk with the stylist" for next time. Ok... fine. Came in, had my hair done and upon leaving presented the 10% off card to which she said "It is not going to be off the cut, just the color". I asked her if it was her I spoke with over the phone and she said yes. I explained that she said it would be off the total. She then got quite upset, proceeded to speak down to me and cut me off when I spoke. She said she "I'm not going to argue over a couple dollars, I'll take it off both". Well, clearly she did argue with me over a couple dollars and unfortunately the only one it really hurts is the stylist as I am certainly not coming back to a place where the owner would disrespect someone. I commented that she must not be too concerned with getting new business her response was "You're not new, you've been here 3 times". Lol, ok? I didn't realize 4 times and only twice with the same stylist made me a lifelong customer....nor was that really the point. I'm sure they have a loyal clientele as she did not seem concerned with me returning. However, she has a new stylist trying to build a book of business that is impacted. Next time, honor what the card says and don't treat someone so poorly over a few bucks. read more
