Jazz is the life....I don't know why when I listen to jazz my mind goes to Louis Armstrong tune....seeing "A Wonderful World" - The Louis Armstrong Musical was wow... I saw this fantastic musical on a Friday evening at Studio 54 Theater and I sat in row MM - seat 206 - way in the back of the theater and I honestly felt like I had the best seat in the theater... Thinking it doesn't matter where you sit in the theater - you will have an excellent view of the stage..the theater space is personal... There are two bars with a nice drink selection and basic snacks you can nibble on... Everyone working there that crossed my paths were sincerely polite and helpful. Definitely recommend seeing this show if you are a jazz fan.

Enjoyed Louis Armstrong 's wonderful life biopic musical here. Friendly staff and with a very cozy feel. Orchestra seating (center, row G) gave a full and close view of the stage with very good experience. The theatre itself looks vintage upon entrance but the props, sound, and the overall production quality was really good. Parking lot immediately next to the theatre is convenient and inexpensive but please plan for at least an hour wait to get the car back; the end-of-the-show spike of patrons overwhelms the system. The play itself was superb with amazing vocal ranges, storyline, well-spotted humor, and awesome band.

Not a bad theater but needs some love. I was quite comfortable but I can see how if you are over 5' tall there is not a lot of leg room. I think that this was my first time to this theater. Acoustics were excellent, we were far left and able to see all the stage activities with ease Front Mezz CC 5&7. These were RUSH seats, so thrilled that they were reasonably priced and in a fine location. Agree with others who appreciate the bathrooms near the entrance, may as well get this over with and not have to return again. Many places to dine nearby, we walked directly over from SaiTong nearby.

This is more a review of A Wonderful World: The Louis Armstrong Musical than Studio 54 although I will say that the theatre is absolutely stunning. It looks like such a classic theatre as there are beautiful engravings and curtain drapping on the inside. I also love that the had a bathroom right near the entrance. I think this was my first time at a theatre bathroom where there was no line for then women but a long line for the men. The Louis Armstrong Musical is incredibly underrated. When I went, only around 60-70% of the seats were filled. The musical walks through Armstrong's life and the women who were in it, he had 4 wives. Here are some of my favorite parts of the show: The ensemble is insanely talented. I love how they were able to perform so many different styles of dance, including tap and boogie. I didn't know much about Armstrong before watching this musical, and it was fun to realize how many songs I inadvertently knew from him. - The set was gorgeous with the sweeping staircase. - I love that there was quite a bit of audience interaction as he encouraged the audience to sing at various parts of the show. Overall, a fantastic musical that I would highly recommend everyone to go watch. My one small complaint was that the seats were quite uncomfortable and my tailbone hurt by the end of it.

We saw Its a Wonderful World. The seats in the theater were a little uncomfortable. The show was amazing but at the end we got a speech from the main actor and I thought they were going to pass a bucket for donations.... Something about supporting actors and support personal in the theater... Admittedly I was not really listening but thankful they did not do that so I am not sure what the point was....

Nice theater. I went to see Louis Armstrong's musical (which is a great play by the way!) the seating was a little cramped a bit far away in the rear mezzanine. A person next to me brought binoculars which another patron and I noted was a smart idea. Cool to know that it used to be a dance club many years ago! A patron told me of how he used to party there. Talk about full circle!

Opened in 1927 as the Gallo Opera House, this most recent incarnation has a capacity of 1,006. Requisite long restroom lines for older Broadway (and Off-Broadway) theaters. Also, requisite high drink prices with the $6 surcharge for the mandatory "souvenir" sippy cup.

Won rush lottery for an 8pm Saturday show of The Minutes. Got incredibly amazing seats in the middle of orchestra--H1 and H3 just for $39 with all the fees! Highly recommend purchasing the rush tickets on Txts app. The Minutes was hilarious, witty, and thought provoking. One of those shows where you have to pay attention to the repartee between characters, so you fully immerse yourself in the plot. The ending will be such a delicious, scandalizing surprise! Bring a jacket--the theater gets cold after the intermission.

This theater still continues to deliver amazing shows in such an iconic setting! I saw Caroline or Change last night and it was a fabulous show. The workers were so friendly and kind, while still making sure to enforce the wearing of masks. We felt very safe and really enjoyed the show! Just be aware that there are no concessions at this theater right now. I think it is due to COVID? But I was a little surprised that you couldn't get drinks or even water. However, I understand that they want to have people keep their masks on. I look forward to coming back to this theater again and again!

During my misspent youth I had occasion to dance the night away at Studio 54 a few times. That seems like a lifetime ago now, and the former nightclub has since been transformed into a proper theater. The venue is intimate with lovely decor but seats are smallish, as is the case with many NYC theaters. I last saw "Latin History for Morons" by John Leguizamo there and really enjoyed it. As a patron of the Roundabout Theater Club (whose plays are shown at Studio 54) I jumped at the chance to make a contribution towards renovating the theater and the old disco ball. I chose to immortalize my dogs Frodo and Sam, whose names are now emblazoned on one of the bricks in the lobby wall. Check it out if you visit Studio 54 and think of your own beautiful times.

This is a very pretty theater, not to mention that it is legendary. Theres still a big disco ball hanging at the entrance hall when you walked in. The leg room at this theater is also very generous on the orchestra. The seats are very comfortable very thick cushion.

Seating is filling up fast! I can't wait to go. We got tickets! My 1st show at this Theater. Posted 03/09/19

What a beautiful place. I took so many photos. I love the decor. There were several bars and plenty of space to sit. The theater seating is very comfortable. It's more in line with a movie theater. I like the top row. I saw the full view of the stage with no problem. The orchestra was on raised platforms split on either side of the stage on the side walls of the theater. I'm not an acoustical engineer but the sound was the best I've heard in a Musical performance on Broadway. The entrance to our seats and exiting was not overly packed and crowded. Very smooth transition to the street. I was trying to snap photos as I left. I can imagine the history in this building. If you're interested look Up Studio 54 on Wikipedia. The complete history is there. I wish I had more time to soak up the atmosphere. I'm sure there's got to be a few spirits roaming around. As for the show Kiss Me Kate. There's singing and tap dancing! I'm a fan. I really enjoyed the talented performers. I knew many of the songs because of my parents love of music. I wish I could see the dancing segments over and over! So good! If you have the opportunity to attend this show or any other at Studio 54 Theater I would advise you to go.

The Play: The Lifespan if A Fact w/Daniel Radcliffe About: A demanding Editor (Cherry Jones), A determined young Fact Checker (Daniel Radcliffe), and Author (Bobby Carnevale) working on an "essay" that is to be published. It was funny, relatable, and very relevant to the modern world. Especially as a young professional, I can empathize and identify with Daniel Radcliffe's character The transitions between scenes were great. The 3 person cast was amazing! Love the sets. Studio 54 was a very intimate little theatre. It was very easy to find our seats. People are right that it isn't really staggering. I found myself swaying back and forth depending on the person in front of me. However, the view was great besides that.

Yes, the views are amazing, however the weather has to be just perfect. Especially if you plan to use the outdoor patio. Which, why wouldn't you? The space itself is not for large groups, wedding party size approximately 50. Plus the wait, bar & other service staff. The location is prime, if you plan to take a car, remember this is NYC & traffic is bad. You can probably walk faster than a cab or car service. Especially during the month of December. NYC gets more visitors in December than all year long. The venue has 2 bathrooms for women which is not good, however worked for this crowd. Rooftop wedding in the heart of Manhattan with incredible views of St. Patrick's Cathedral & Rockefeller Center. What more could you ask for? It's makes for one incredible experience for not just the bride and groom, but for all of the guests who are always completely blown away. As close as it is to being perfect, there are few things to keep in mind: 1. If the weather doesn't cooperate (as it didn't during the wedding I shot there, when it rained right before the ceremony), the main garden does get quite soggy. It got bad enough that the bride had to walk around the guests via the outer walkway instead of through the middle. Definitely not the ideal way to make an entrance. 2. The inside is as simple as it gets, so it's really up to you(r planner) to make it something amazing. Basically, picture a clean, white room; a blank slate. If minimalism is your thing (as is with me), then you'll love it. Otherwise, plan to get creative! 3. Space. It's definitely not for large events. Even for smaller weddings, the cocktail hour gets quite cramped. But if you're planning on getting married here, you know that already. From a solely photographer's perspective, while it does make possible some absolutely stunning shots (one of my favorite images was taken here, which you can see in the Photos section), the size of the venue as well as the blank indoor space does limit how creative you can get. If you're looking to get a wide variety of photos, I'd highly suggest you stop by another location for or after the First Look and get portraits before heading to 620 Loft and Garden. If you're set on getting married here, a gallery of a real wedding from 620 Loft and Garden is up on my site, so feel free to check it out for some wedding ideas!

Why, stop by the Holiday Home of course!! Held in a historical mansion on the Upper East Side of New York City, come prepared to be inspired and enchanted as you walk through the house, each room designed by a different interior designer, to a different holiday theme (think, New Year's Eve, St Pattys, Christmas etc) or special moment in life. Every single room here is SO gorgeous, with furniture from some of the most luxurious brands in the world. As I walked through the rooms, I imagined what it would be like to live in a house like this, a life of luxury, with cocktails at 3 and constant dinner parties. And if you're one of the lucky few who can actually afford to live in a house like this, then the Holiday Home would serve as a life sized inspiration board for you... You get a catalog at the entrance and it serves as a reference to any piece of furniture displayed in the house. The designers themselves are also there in their respective rooms and are more than happy to talk to you about their work / offer to come design your house (if that's what you're looking for). It is a $35 entrance fee that goes towards the Breast Cancer Foundation, though, even if it didn't, so worth it getting to spend an afternoon in the shoes of an Upper East Sider. Lastly, everyone's so incredibly nice (you'd expect them to be snooty but there are absolutely no airs here), though, I would dress nice and perhaps not show up in sweats if I was gonna go. Haha. There is also an adorable little heated courtyard cafe that serves up ready made sandwiches, teas and (not so yummy) macaroons. But very nice and pretty to sit at. All in all, one of my favorite things we did in New York this past trip! Perfect for getting into the holiday mood (:
