The reviews have been pretty good so I took a risk. First, this place doesn't accept credit/debit cards so bring cash. I went on a Saturday morning. It was pretty busy. They had about 4-5 barbers working and the chairs were all full. I only had to wait about 10 mins but from my observation it seemed like everyone getting their haircuts were regulars. I noticed one of the barbers to be really friendly and talkative in a good way. I had Rose cut my hair. She really took her time and very thorough. I would say she spent a good 20 mins or so cutting my hair. Not going to lie... I think I may have dosed off a bit but she was very professional. You can really tell how good of a barber she was when she finished and did another inspection and did some minor trim with areas she noticed. I think I found my new spot. Not sure if they take appointments or if all of them work everyday but I would come back for sure.

It's not bad, I just wanted, No, needed something better. Walking into DC Homme, I realized it would be like no other barbershop experience. Keyword: Experience. The grooming lounge (2 floors) is extraordinary with the historic memorabilia and art hanging on rich, dark brown - mahogany wood walls, you'd expect in a stately law firm. There are grooming samples at the front door, a men's clothing shop, and other services all under one roof (Brian gave me a tour). The mood, music, comfy couch/chairs, and wall mounted flat screen TVs made you feel like you were stepping into a major city salon with all the comforts of home. I was Brian's guest (not customer) and it felt like it. Brian focuses his attention on your grooming, conversation, and nothing else. His approach is methodical without being mechanical. You can tell he thought out every detail of your cut, asks the right questions, and engages you in light, meaningful conversation that helps you connect, which is important between a man and his stylist. Your hair cut looks great, after the highly anticipated flourish to every haircut with an essential oil (can't tell all the details - you have to try it for yourself - it's amazing). You leave feeling like someone took the time to provide you more than a hair cut - DC Homme gives you an experience, which is worth the $35 - $40. Yes, I could go back to paying $27 for a hair cut, but I have more appreciation for finer things in life such as the high degree of professionalism, atmosphere, conversation, and genuine care Brian and his colleagues put into their guest's experience that's definitely worth the $8 - 15 difference (Exceptional Experience Fee). Why would I go anywhere else? And, if you are man - neither should you.

I was so grateful I felt compelled to text her a week later just to thank her (again) and share how well my hair was still holding up ... first time EVER that my hair has lasted more than 3 days! She's an experienced and PROFESSIONAL, one woman show with space in the back of a reputable Barber Shop. If you're like me, you will totally appreciate the absence of her phone stuck to her ear, stopping to eat and juggle 3-4 clients at a time and no hassle bookings (NO impersonal web appointments with surveys and questionnaires for days). I can confirm she's reasonably priced and worth every cent. Give her a call and tell her you saw it on Yelp!

Watching the interactions of the barbers I enjoyed following their dynamic relationships with the customers. Yes, I paid a little more than my usual haircut and went a little out of my way but I'm happy with the result and feel good supporting a veteran owned business. They can handle walk-ins but you may not get your barber of choice. I used an easy booking method available through their social media accounts. You could call, I found the online booking very easy to use. Lastly, there's a salon next door for the ladies who need a different type of styling. They referred my kids to Kelvin when my wife visited so I'm returning the favor by referring you. As he was finishing, he asked if I wanted enhancements. I looked in the mirror and asked, "Is this how you're planning to finish my haircut?" He said yes so at that point, the enhancements weren't really optional because my line-up was not crispy at all. It needed CPR! Unfortunately, even after the enhancements, I still wasn't satisfied. When you get out of a barber's chair, you're supposed to leave with a fresh cut and a confidence boost. I left feeling worse than when I walked in and somehow my $30 haircut turned into $50.
