Ebony Barbers is hands down the best barber shop I myself or my son has ever been to…read more We went for the first time a few weeks ago because I had ran into one of the barbers and he'd commented on my hair and told me he cuts. I was hesitant at going at first because I don't trust many when it comes to myself or my son's hair but I decided to give him a try because we really aren't too fond of the shop we currently go to. Going to Ebony barbers was the best decision ever. When we first arrived we were greeted promptly and asked if we had an appointment. When I told the young man that we did have an appointment he asked with who and found out if there would be a wait and if so how long. Our appointment was at 12 noon and we arrived around 1145. We were told that our barber was not there yet but should arrive shortly. That's when I got nervous and started to have flashbacks of my past shop experiences where you'd arrive on time but the barber would be like 45 minutes late SMH. But that wasn't the case... Our barber Peetie was right on time. He came in the door around 1155, put his stuff down, cleaned his clippers and got us right in the chair. Me first... He didn't BS and have to lollygag with the other barbers or eat a snack or any of that extra stuff. He got right to it! His customer service is on point! And the place was packed too and it means a lot that he honors his appointments! My son and I both were in and out of his chair in a matter of an hour and a half! We both got our hair cut, my eyebrows shaped, and my son got his brows cleaned up... Never has this ever happened in my history of going to barber shops, and I've been going for my son for 11 years and myself for the past 3 years! The atmosphere of the shop is chill, come as you are and be who you are. No drama. Of course its hype and a little bit of shit talking... That's what a barber shop is! But the guys were also very respectful of their language with the smaller children being around. The shop is located right by the mall's food court so if you do have a bit of a wait you can grab a bite to eat or a snack. Even though its 35 minutes from my house, its definitely worth the trip! Great prices, punctual barbers, clean facility, good vibes, and outstanding customer service... Its been exactly 3 weeks and we're back! I think we are forever customers!

I've been going to Ebony Barbers ever since I was a teenager and I couldn't see myself anywhere…read moreelse. While they've rotated people in and out of these over the years, most of the barbers they staff have been reliable, friendly and accommodating, and the veterans who have been there the longest are like old friends I get to see once a month. The place is always clean, organized and well run. I don't know if there is an explicit rule about cursing or use of crude language, but on their busy days I notice they are collectively more restrained when they converse with each other or the customers, making the place very kid friendly. The only criticism I have would be the ever-increasing cost of services (a basic cut is like $35 I think), but frankly I think that's more due to the cost of renting the space in the mall. Overall, I'd highly recommend anyone who needs a cut to go see these guys.

A Royal Cut Every Time…read more Just got my second cut from Amasai Holden at Crown Royal Barber, and I'm officially a fan. From day one, he brought techniques I've never seen used before -- like hitting my beard with a hot iron to straighten it before trimming ( game changer). That move alone kept my beard looking sharp for days longer. This visit, he leveled up my hairline with fibers and holding spray -- something I've had done before, but never this precise or long-lasting. Dude added that "extra sauce" that had me walking out like a brand new man. The shop is clean, in a great area right near my office, and super convenient. I walked in the first time with no wait, and the second time, I booked an appointment -- showed up early and Amasai was already ready to go. No waiting, no hassle. Just top-tier service and professionalism. If you want a fresh cut with elevated technique in a polished space, Amasai's your guy. Highly recommend.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and you can tell immediately that everyone there takes a lot of pride in what they do. I'm generally very low maintenance with my haircuts, and today was no exception; it had been several months since my last cut and my hair didn't really have a perceivable style to go off of. We briefly discussed my preferences (short sides, longer top) and then he asked if I wanted a "Spring or Summer cut." I said summer and we were off; with just that little bit of info he did exactly what I wanted and as well as what I even didn't know I wanted. I'm looking forward to making this my regular barbershop! Can't recommend it enough.

The minute the individual opened the door to walk in, he was yelled at by one of the barbers who said "you can't bring that dog in here". the individual reiterated that the dog was a service animal (which was overwhelmingly obvious) and the barber, once again, just said he could not bring the dog inside. this is COMPLETELY inappropriate, not to mention illegal, discriminatory, and embarrassing. It was so upsetting to me. Service animals are allowed in all public establishments in the state of maryland, and refusal of admittance into a business with a service animal is against the law and inhumane. so incredibly disgusting.
