We just moved to Laurel and I am trying to find a new barber. Came across this location looking through Yelp. This was pretty close to our place and thought I'd give it a shot. The reviews have been pretty good so I took a risk. First, this place doesn't accept credit/debit cards so bring cash. I went on a Saturday morning. It was pretty busy. They had about 4-5 barbers working and the chairs were all full. I only had to wait about 10 mins but from my observation it seemed like everyone getting their haircuts were regulars. I noticed one of the barbers to be really friendly and talkative in a good way. I had Rose cut my hair. She really took her time and very thorough. I would say she spent a good 20 mins or so cutting my hair. Not going to lie... I think I may have dosed off a bit but she was very professional. You can really tell how good of a barber she was when she finished and did another inspection and did some minor trim with areas she noticed. I think I found my new spot. Not sure if they take appointments or if all of them work everyday but I would come back for sure. read more

Well... I asked to even out my hair, fade the sides, shape up including my mustache. None of these things were done to a professional standard. My hairline is crooked, my hair is still uneven, my mustache looks as if it was never touched, the sides are not faded, and I overall feel worse leaving the barbershop than I did going in. The customer service was great and they were friendly. Truck was the person who cut my hair and he was nice and easy to talk to, but the barbering skills just weren't there for me. I will not go back or recommend. Now I have to go somewhere else for them to fix my hair. read more

I've been coming to barber shop over 15 year. As I'm sitting here waiting for my turn, I just witnessed a very sweet moment that prompted me to write this review. Today has been a busy day here and Tina, the owners wife( the sweetest person) who has been the choice of my stylist, has 4 people before me. As I was I picking up the Time magazine to read, contemplating the time I have to be sitting here waiting, I saw an elderly South American grandmother walked in with her grandson of around 6/7 years of age. She pointed out the style she wanted to Truck, the owner(Friendliest guy) and he started cutting the hair. I could somehow feel the bond between the grandma and the little boy. Then here comes the mom walking in wearing some clothing that could be found very objectionable by some, rushed to Truck where he was cutting the boy's hair and ordered him to change the style to a something very trendy, teenager-ish. The boy is 7 years old for God's sake! The grandmother tried to protest the change but wasn't very successful.The kid stated whining about the new style and he wanted what his grand mom picked for him. Pretty quick the stylist, Truck understood the feud and did all his best to calm the little child and kept saying" Everything will be ok, Son. Everything will be ok. Don't worry about them". If you saw the haircut the mom picked, you would have seen there weren't many choice to make this mom and her child happy at the same time. But Truck kept cutting the hair the boy's hair keeping him calm, and found a way to make both of them happy. How thoughtful of Truck, about the whole situation! As I mentioned earlier, I've been coming to this place for long time. The owner Truck and his lovely wife Tina are two pure souled human beings. Btw on a side note; Truck used to cut my hair, but I switched to Tina after he married her and brought her from Vietnam. She is very skilled. Gotta go! My turn is almost up. read more

Truck is an absolute beast! I am mad picky with my haircut's/barbers but the fact that he ensures that your hair is exactly how you want it is mad rare with barbers. Great local barber shop. They do not give you the side-eye when you walk in an hour before close they are courteous and professional at all times. Not much of a wait as they are fast efficient and accurate on every single haircut. Clean lines and even fade. Very intimate atmosphere. Truck, the guy in charge of the operation, could teach just about any shop of any kind a thing or two about customer service. His memory for his customers is astounding, knowing just about everyone by name, their preferences, and always has some interesting/amusing stuff to say. I'm getting my hair cut at Laurel Barber shop right now and feel compelled to write a long overdue review. Mr. truck has been cutting my hair for 22 (yes, twenty two) years. He also now cuts my 3 sons' hair. If you haven't already heard, Truck has quite an impressive following of clients. They line up for and are willing to wait for his precise artful work with his hands, scissors and clippers. His shop is clean with a very warm welcoming environment. What is remarkable is how Truck remembers exactly how you like your hair cut every time and maintains incredible consistency! I have curly hair that most other barbers have difficulty cutting well. Another remarkable perk of this shop is the price: you pay less than half of what you will pay elsewhere for comparable quality and service. Trucks wife Tina is also a gem who has her own fan base. He also has 2 other barbers that help him keep his clients happy with timely service. I have been going to see Mr. Truck (the owner) for more then 20 years now. I remember the first time he cut my hair. I was in high school and everyone I knew recommended him. So I went in and sat in his chair and said make me look good. He smiled and said no problem. From that day on I wouldn't let anyone else cut my hair. My friends think that I am crazy for travelling all the way from Sykesville to Laurel for a hair cut but to me it's worth it. I go in and get greeted by name and when I sit down in his chair he always asks me if I want to get it cut the same way and I say yes. Twenty minutes later I get up looking good. Truck and his staff are very friendly and polite. Whenever anyone comes in the shop they are always welcomed in the door with hello's or being greeted by name because once you are a regular you are not forgotten. They can accommodate pretty much any hair style that you are looking for. Truck is a master with the clippers as well as scissors but if you are looking to get a fade he is the best in town and state. I will always recommend Truck and his staff when I am asked where to get a hair cut.
