Lena is great. Been getting my sons here since he was 2 years old. Does great with my hair as well. She gets busy though so come early.

The reviews were so misleading. I thought it would be a friendly business that I would have loved to support. I was beyond disappointed. If I could give them zero stars I would. I called at 12pm today and asked if they cut girls' hair, specifically a six year old. They said yes and hung up. I went in at 2pm. Nobody greeted us, we were told to sit down. We sat down. I am a woman. I went inside with my mother and my two young girls. We are all female. My husband was outside of the building. After waiting for about 30 minutes we were told that none of the barbers on site are capable of cutting girls hair. I questioned why they told me they did when I had called earlier. No answer. Then they claimed that they thought my husband (who is outside and nowhere to be seen) was the one waiting for a haircut. I questioned why they would think that when all four of us are female that are inside of the shop. No answer. Honestly, as a business it shouldn't have came to that point. A simple greeting and ask what we came in for would've avoided the unnecessary situation. I don't know How they got all these great reviews, they don't deserve it. read more

This is a hidden gem. As a parent it is great to have a place that always gives great haircuts for kids. You can show them a picture, and they will knock it out of the park. I've never had a bad haircut from here in over three years. These guys are artists. They are dependable and offer the best quality service you can buy in 100 miles. read more

Went in as a walk-in on a Friday afternoon and was quickly seated with Wayne. He gave a very nice standard haircut, buzz the sides and clip the top with a taper in the back. Worked quickly, cost $20. Very happy with it overall. Definitely going back. read more

I have been coming here for almost 10 years and have never had a bad haircut. Ken and Wayne are both really solid barbers if you like fades. Shop is clean and comfortable. They also take credit cards which is cool. My only critique is about the televisions. They were a nice addition, but PLEASE put on something tailored a bit more to the clients. A bunch of grown men sitting around watching The View is just uncomfortable :). A little ESPN would make the waits a bit more tolerable. Keep up the good work. read more

Came here on the recommendation of an acquaintance. Upon arrival I noticed that they had candy, lollipops, and fruit snacks on their counter for patrons as well as mounted televisions. Had a bit of a wait on a midweek evening which was surprising. There was no sign-in sheet and therefore when it was actually my sons turn the available barber offered his spot to another person waiting, thankfully the person corrected the barber and let them know it was his turn. If they are a busy place a simple place to sign-in may be helpful. I let the barber know exactly what kind of cut I wanted for my him and he did what I asked. He did a great job and was very thorough. They also have many different styles on the wall with numbers should you need an idea of which style you would like. I never would have realized that this barber shop was in the shopping center had I not been told. I will most likely take my son back here as prices are certainly fair and service was very good. read more

I'm almost 74 years old and only 4 barbers have ever cut my hair. Two were in Westport, Ct, one in Palm Beach County, and the female owner of Friendship Barber Shop in Fulton, Maryland. She works from the first barber chair. I don't know her name, but she's the best barber in the world and I have traveled 1,036 miles many times to have her cut my hair! I recently moved to Maryland, but I used to travel over 2,000 miles round trip to get a haircut from her when I lived on Palm Beach island. I don't think I need to elaborate anymore. read more

Pretty good haircut. My first time here. Ken was my barber. Friendly enough. Asked how I wanted my hair cut & got to work. Good conversation while working away at my cut. It took maybe 10 minutes total. Got hot razor trim on my sideburns & the back of my neck. $14. Will be back. Update 4-1-15: Cuts are $15 now. I had Cindy cut my hair & she did a good job. read more

Dear my sweetheart Wayne, This past haircut was like a roller coaster, as you faded my edges up to perfection. When I walked in, I was greeted by whoever the hell it is, Ling, Ni, or Kim. As I saw Ken and Lee, I looked them right into their eyes and said, "no, Wayne is cutting my hair." I was laughing at the baby and as I saw Ken walk out the back door, I smelled a very strong odor of tobacco. At this point, Wayne was the obvious choice as Lee only gave me one lollipop after my cut. I don't normally write reviews, but I needed a quick haircut since I had unbearably long hair due to quarantine. Unfortunately, it's clear that the hair cuts are for slightly older clients (65+) and I probably should have reached into the city a bit more. It's a 20$ haircut, so I'm not complaining too much, but if you're a young professional I think it's probably a better idea to go to DC or Baltimore to get something done. read more

Always crowded and understaffed, but open Sunday so they pretty much have a monopoly in this part of Howard, other shops need to open on Sunday and give them some competition. Owner came by at 4, closing time, and laughed about the number of folks still waiting, the another guy came by who seemed to have been promised an appointment a 4 and they turned him away, and laughed as he walked out. read more

If I lived here, Wayne would be my new barber! He used a number of quality tools to get the cut and beard trim just right. He was gentle and quick as well. All hair above the chest was taken care of right for $20! I'd drive 45 minutes out of my way if I'm in MD again and needing a cut. Oh, and neck shave is standard. Did not feel like a friend here. After waiting 30 min for my turn my son was discriminated against and refused a haircut because his hair was "too thick." Don't waste your precious time here!!! Deserves zero stars but can't post without giving it at least one. read more

Kim (owner) has been cutting my hair for 20 years. I followed her from her previous shop in Columbia. It is worth the 20 minute drive to Laurel. The barbers provide excellent services at fair and reasonable prices. To Jason T (review on 6-11-17), I am glad that you noted "The service is great and the barbers are excellent." However Kim was upset about your review when I saw her on June 12. The air conditioner was broken on June 11. She wanted to apologize for your bad experience. I have been coming to The Friendship Barber Shop for the last three years. But for the last 2 years, I have been really irritated especially during the summer time. Last year when it got hot outside, this shop was extremely hot inside. It was a 100 degrees outside and it felt like 90 degrees inside the shop. Do they know how to turn on the AC or is it broken??? I hate it when I come here with a dry shirt and leave with a wet back because I was sweating the entire time when I was getting my haircut. I was there again over this weekend and OMG it was hot inside the shop. The service is great and the barbers are excellent. I just wish they would put an effort and make their customers feel comfortable so that they will return. Turn on the AC please!! read more

Friendship Barber is one of the best place to get haircuts. My husband has been getting his haircuts for almost 3 decades. Kim the owner is always awesome. Great job with my husband's hair and my boys when they were little. Now my 3 years old daughter goes there for haircut and she loved it !!! Price of haircut there very, very reasonable. read more

$15, no wait and Wayne gave the best fade I've had in 35 years. Wayne spent more time fading the sides than most places spend on the entire haircut. He also uses hot hot cream and a straight razor for your neck. read more

Friendship Barber is a family run business that I have used since they opened about 12 years ago. They consistantly give me a good hair cut, and they indeed are friendly. They have a lot of repeat customers, so they are busy at times, so sometimes there is a short wait. My hair cut costs $15 including a healthy tip. read more
