Unfortunately he left to go inside their building and was replaced by this young black haired latino. He was working on this guy who walked in with a Phil Foden cut and 75 min in, largely unchanged but with a clean trim on the sides. (There was hardly any hair on the ground ) One reason his cut was taking so long was this barber was too busy live-streaming on his phone, occasionally looking at peoples' comments. It also didn't help he was cutting at a snail's pace. It's one thing to be attentive to detail (something the first barber was good at). It's another to just go hair by hair. Bad for business, wasting peoples' time, so much that I don't feel like stopping by the actual shop. Hope the business sees this and if they do, please let me know the name of that guy. If I ever do stop by, I'd like to avoid him at all cost.

The barbers just stared and didn't ask me if I was waiting for a chair. The owner didn't say anything until I finally stood up and wondered what was going on. He said someone would get to me soon. At that point, I was done and left. I found out that they just opened a new shop in Columbia and I figured since it was near where I needed to go, I'd give it a try. That turned my experience around. I saw Devin "Nephew" Hall and he had me in his chair in about 5 mins. after finishing up a costumer. He cut me a nice, even buzz cut with the crispy lines. I liked my fresh cut and he was quick without being sloppy or careless. The price wasn't bad either. For Devin alone and his good service, I would go back to the Columbia shop. Just get your website up so we can make appointments online.

The conversation I can describe - at best - as minimal. He saw me wearing a mask when I came in, and he put one on so I could feel comfortable taking mine off when he cut around my ears. The cut was $18 - I may have over tipped since they only take cash and I didn't have change and needed to rush out to answer a call. My overall impression - I've had better hair cuts, and I've spent A LOT more on them too. I'll probably come back since my go-to (which used to be on the way home from work) is now a bit too far out of the way, and I do love supporting local businesses.

Being that I had never been here before I opted for whoever was available at that time. I had set my appointment for shortly after they opened and after my appointment beforehand. Showed up a few minutes early and took my time in the parking lot before going inside. Once inside I was greeted as soon as I walked in and told that I needed to give them just a minute. Once they were set up and ready to go I was called to a chair. Asked what I wanted to have done and with a few vague comments about that, we were off. They were meticulous with my ask and focused. All the while chatting me up. It was comical to hear the banter in here. They had on CNN and their commentary was better than the newscasters. Before I knew it, they were finished and I was ready to go. My beard looked a lot better than it had looked in a long time and I am grateful for the correction of this.

A young lady named Yay-yay (sorry if I misspelled her name) blew me out, and Jessica was my stylist. Jessica is a pro. It seems like she was born with a talent and care to work with heat on natural hair. No burning, no scorching, and no fear from me, especially when she pressed my edges. She gave me the most gentle hot comb and slide curl style that I have ever had. Though I deeply love my natural hair texture, I do like variety, and my hair was stunning when they finished! Both of these ladies are talented and confident, and were not afraid of working with my raw, natural hair. I am very tender-headed, but I did not wince in pain at all during my service. Best of all, though I didn't get started until about 35 minutes or so after my appointment, the ladies got me out in just over an hour and a half. I should add that I went in with my hair already washed, conditioned, combed out, and loosely braided in quarters, which certainly saved me time. But they work efficiently and focus on what they are doing. My only issue occurred when Yay-yay briefly combed my hair from my roots to the ends without fully detangling the ends first. I could hear and feel some of my hair snapping, so I called her attention to it and she stopped. Her blow drying technique was solid though, and she used my Marrakesh KmKh blow style oil with no hassle. I love that stuff! The shop has a convenient location in a strip mall not far from the main post office with lots of parking. The ladies' salon area is at the back of the shop, and there is a nice, spacious barber shop in the front for the fellas. All of the stylists were friendly and courteous, and so were the customers who came in. I highly recommend this shop and will definitely go back during my next visit! I received my hair cut, and when it came time to pay, the man asked for my card and swiped it in the machine. The cut was $40, something they hadn't mentioned upon walking in, and when I asked how to leave the tip, the guy said "I already took care of it." So the dirt bag automatically gave himself a tip without consent, which floored me as someone who likes to tip generously. I was so surprised it took me a moment to realize the audacity this man (Matt I believe his name was) had. I was in a hurry to see family, so I didn't make a big deal of it. But considering that Matt couldn't even give me a proper zero line up and gave me no choice other than a (poorly done) fade, the dude should have been happy with $5. Dude should be working at great clips (or more rather not at all). In short, the place and staff were dirty, rude, unprofessional, and if I could leave zero stars, I would.
