I have been going to see Christine now for about a year. I love her. Christine is both professional and friendly. She comes up with good ideas and if you're not so sure , she won't push it. I like that in a stylist. I feel confident with Christine that I will always get what I want and I never go home and wash my hair after a visit, where I have done before in the past! I'd recommend Christine to my friends and am so glad a friend gave me her number. I would follow Christine to the end of the world! I've had coloring done, panels of color and extensions. I even took my 18 year old niece there as a treat and she loved it and promised she would look after her hair. Christine was very good and by not lecturing my niece,told her how to look after her hair while she styles/colors it herself. My niece spoke about her advice all week! My experience inspired me to start doing Yelp reviews! Amanda Sorci is great! I've been trying to find a stylist, but my last couple experiences weren't good. Someone suggested trying a Groupon, and despite my hesitation, it turned out great! The atmosphere was fantastic! Location was great, metered parking in front & free parking in back. They served coffee (individual pods) and snacks. When I got there, I was having a freak out moment. I forgot my phone which had pics of what I wanted, and I was a basket case. Amanda was patient and offered lots of options to come back, reschedule, etc. I calmed down and decided to just go with it. So we started late b/c of me, but even though I knew she had another appt scheduled and was going to cut it close, she didn't act rushed and took great care of me. Unlike the last people, she LISTENED to me when I said I didn't want any warm colors. She LISTENED to everything I said and it came out EXACTLY how I asked. That has never happened before! I can't stress that enough. She charged me exactly what she was supposed to. Obviously the groupon is a base price and if people want extra things done or have a lot of hair, the price will change. I think most people understand this, but it's ridiculous to complain about price if you didn't bother to ask first. I asked about pricing, and made my decisions accordingly. The groupon paid for everything except some toner that I asked for as an add-on. If I had more hair, or wanted more foils, I would have had that discussion before she started! I am so happy to say that I found my new salon and Amanda is my new stylist! :) read more

Me and two of my girlfriends went in to get an ombre a year ago all done by Christine. She was good, but a little pricey ($165) but we thought it was the normal price. I called back a month ago wanting to touch up on my ombre and asked for a price estimate. Another girl, not Christine, answered the phone and told me it would be ~$130 for a full ombre. When I told her how much we all paid last year she said that was pretty expensive for an ombre and that it is usually around 130. She sounded surprised that Christine would charge us that much for an ombre. Also, Christine was being super cheap and told me that she wouldn't bleach or color the inside of my hair because it would make the ombre look better, and I believed her, but I found out later that you're supposed to color the inside. Therefore she was pretty much trying to rip us off and save herself some money and time by using less hair product. I feel really cheated from this experience. I trusted Christine after she reassured me her expertise in ombres. Christine has poor integrity and I deserve more for what I paid especially since all 3 of us are poor college students. read more

I had the same problem with this salon as the previous reviewer. I was a new client and showed up for my appointment at 11:00 am on a weekday. No one was working at the reservation desk, was told to have a seat and relax by the only stylist in the salon. There were only two clients in the salon, myself and another woman in the stylist chair. I waited and waited and finally got up and went towards the back room where several stylist and the owner were hanging out. I asked for my stylist and they directed me back to front room where the only stylist (who was my stylist) was working. My stylist stood 5 feet from me and never asked me who I had an appointment with the entire time I was there. After I went back to the front the owner came up and told the stylist I was her 11:00 appointment. The stylist never apologized for ignoring me she then told me that she would be ready for me in 10 minutes, 10 minutes ended up being 20. I will never return to this salon!! I'll wait for a Doctor for a half hour however, not a stylist!!! read more

Briana is amazing! First off, she was able to see me last minute, on a Saturday afternoon, and was very cheerful and accommodating. I have very long, curly, wild, unruly hair that needs specific cutting techniques. I explained my dilemma, and she knew exactly what I was talking about. I wanted layers for volume and movement, without sacrificing any length. The end result was exactly what I pictured wanting my hair to look like, only better! I know I am a bit of a tedious client, and Briana listened and was receptive and kind. She has a warm, comfortable presence, and truly knows her craft. I will definitely be back! read more

Amanda Sorci is a dog groomer trying to make it as a hairstylist and failing miserably. (Literally, that is her job.) Not only did she botch a dye job and haircut, but she impersonated the owner (over the phone) to prevent customer from returning for a refund. She informed client that she is co-owner of the salon, which is false, and not to return.The refund was offered by the owner, Laura Wiemeyer who stated to customer that Amanda "was feeling emotional" at the time of the unprofessional work. Ms. Sorci also showed up half hour late to this appointment, as noted in other reviews. Salon was closed and locked and customer wandered outside, waiting. Way too much drama at this salon. Unprofessional. Extremely poor treatment of customers. (As reviews below testify to.) read more

I have recently moved to the north bay area and was needing to find a new stylist. I thought that purchasing a Groupon would be the best way to do this. I selected the 4th Street Studio groupon after reading their rave reviews on yelp. I made an appointment with Briana. I have long, blonde, fine hair and needed a cut and highlights despartately. I am starting a new marketing job next week and want to look great! Briana listened as I described just what I wanted. She is warm, gracious, fun and so sweet! Many foils, a deep conditioning treatment and fabulous hair cut later all I can say is it that she is AMAZING! One of the best hair cuts & highlights I have ever had, and I am really picky!! I moved from Las Vegas and have been unable to find a good stylist. I met with Brianna today SHE IS AMAZING! I made a life long friend and ohh yeah my hair FABULOUS!( Yes I am yelling it out, I am so happy) It's very hard for me to have my hair done. I actually hate it. I am very picky, and I rather go months with 4 inch black roots than to have someone touch my hair and be disappointed or have to go to a salon and have small talk with someone who I knew I was not going to see again, because my hair was just going to turn out orange again. I picked this salon from all the review on yelp. Brianna was the stylist that was available, and man was I lucky, Brianna is naturally a nice , fun, good hearted person who does wonderful hair. I reluctantly needed to find a new colorist and stylist closer to home, as my previous wonderful hairdresser had moved to Petaluma, and it was becoming inconvenient to see her. When she went on maternity leave, I thought it was time. You know the feeling: breaking up with a fav hair stylist is hard to do! I looked on line for a colorist/stylist close to downtown Santa Rosa. I found AMANDA SORCI at 4th Street Salon. Because she was close, seemed to have the creds, and was offering an introductory promotion, I went to see Amanda. SO GLAD I DID!! Amanda put me at ease immediately. She listened to my concerns, my desire to have excellent and nuanced color dimension, and my need for a sassy haircut full of texture. On every level, AMANDA ROCKED IT! I am sixty-ish, artistic, and I like to change up my hairstyle daily depending on my mood. Amanda gave me perfect color, lots of dimension, and a fantastic cut, that I can style to flip up, or style forward, or scrunch and air dry, blow smooth or use sticky product to make piecey and spikey. Amanda is amazing! My hair was black and I wanted it back to blonde, NEEDED it blonde and Amanda was so friendly and very informative about the whole procedure, it was very time consuming and tedious to achieve such magnificent hair artistry and she nailed it, will take another session to get it platinum Blondie, but I feel soo much better about my hair and so much more confident, best haircut of my life by the way! After spending $300+ on cut and color at a trendy Santa Rosa salon with results that were an improvement but not WOW, and reading bios of numerous Santa Rosa stylists, I decided to give Christine a try. I truly am delighted to have discovered Christine! I took photos to approximate what I thought would work for my hair and facial fatures. She took the time to study them and give me her opinion of what could be done now and how we would work towards that look - no hype - and I know she would have told me if the style wouldn't work. I also wanted a less brassy tone and more blonde in certain areas. Again, she providded her obviously expert opinion and - even better - the expertise to accomplish the color change. I have challenging hair - most stylists do not have the talent or technical expertise to work with lots of hair that is straight and has no body leaving it too heavy or incoherently chopped. In my view, a girl can spent mega dollars on clothes and make up but it's the hair that makes the difference! Great hair can make jeans, sweatshirt and old tennys look classic - bad hair not at all. Finally, although many ladies look for social conversation with their stylist (Christine is a fun, happy person), I was impresed with her absorbed focus and patient attention to detail in the cut and color. In sum, Christine is the epitomy of talent and technical expertise combined to produce a dedicated, accomplished professional. Thank you, Christine!
