I'll start by saying Ashley's work is good. If you're looking for just a good spray tan she's a good option, but if you're looking for good customer service and reliability, I'd look elsewhere.
I had my first-ever spray tan with Ashley on March 29th, a few days before my bridal shower. My appointment was at 10am which Ashley ended up asking the night (6:30pm) before to reschedule to earlier or later in the day. Her responses to my texts were extremely delayed (1.5hr + later) text which was a bit frustrating but she explained she was on a plane so no biggie on my end. We rescheduled to earlier. She was a few few minutes late for the appointment but texted me to let me know and when all was said and done my tan looked good and I was pleased. During my appointment I confirmed that my next appointment for my wedding would still work for her despite it being on Mother's Day in which she confirmed it was no issue and that she'd be celebrating on Saturday.
Fast forward to yesterday, May 6th, three days before my scheduled 10am spray tan and 5 days before my wedding. I received a text from Ashley at 8:40pm asking to move my Sunday (Mother's day) appointment to Saturday morning. Due to previous scheduling (around my tan) I had already scheduled my nails for Saturday ahead of my tan as directed, and I couldn't do Saturday until the evening. An hour and a half later (10:11 pm), I received a response asking if noon on Sunday worked. A few hours later than my previously scheduled appointment, sure, no big deal, which I responded minutes later.
This morning, May 7th at 10:45, I received another text saying she meant Saturday at noon. Again, I relayed that I couldn't do until later in the day on Saturday. She let me know that she didn't realize she scheduled me on Mother's Day (despite me telling her at my previous appointment) and that she would be going out of town and was unavailable until 7pm on Saturday due to a prior commitment for her sisters prom. Ashley said she could make Saturday evening work around 7pm so long as I could come to her. Again, no problem but I asked that she confirm that she could definitely do 7pm as I was getting a bit panicky so close to my wedding. She did not confirm in a timely manner (30+ minutes with no response) and ultimately her track record left me concerned.
In the interim, I had called a few local salons and found one willing to fit me in Sunday morning and decided to move forward with that route. I let Ashley know that I was able to find someone for Sunday morning and that the Sunday appointment was going to work better for my schedule and would be leas stress in which she promptly responded "okay perfect".
Maybe I'm expecting too much, but from my perspective, in the service industry, if you're proactively reaching out to a client to reschedule, your responses should be timely. It felt as if she made plans despite knowing that she had an appointment expecting flexibility to be moved. That may have not been there case but it very much felt that way. Lastly, the response "okay perfect" left a bad taste in my mouth. No apology for the inconvenience or added stress days before my wedding. It felt very impersonal and as if she could care less if she retained me as a client.
Unfortunately, I will not be a returning client. read more
