I went a peak lunch time at 12:30 pm on a Thursday and the place was surprisingly empty since I've noticed crowds of people every time I drove by there. Anyway, I ordered the Student cheeseburger with fries and a drink which was reasonably priced at $13.50. The meals presentation was nice and I appreciated the branded bun top (Students emblem scorched on top. Unfortunately the meat was too dry and didn't quite taste fresh. I asked the friendly man at the counter if the cooks can cook the burger to order as this one was dry and overdone. He replied that the guys in back typically cook it well done but to ask for it cooked to order next time. The fries weren't fresh cut fries as I had originally thought after looking at the pictures in the menu but they were okay and not the cheap kind found at Sammy's on Lake Street in Addison. Ordered 2 crispy chicken burgers and a Philly cheese steak. The bun on the chicken burgers were not fresh , they had a crust on them and were crumbly. Coming to the chicken piece inside was about 1/3 the size of the bun. The chicken itself had a texture that you could not bite through it. It was tough , like a rubber plastic toy. The other burger was the same , they had to be thrown out. Service was real slow , even though the place looked clean , felt greasy and sticky. Good food good service! We ordered a student burger which is decent. We also order the kids meal and chicken Philly was really good if you like that style. Not greasy at all and very generous with the amount for the price that charge you. We also got the kids meal which is good but same price as student burger but comes with a drink. For some reason the ac was on when we came in and then I asked to turn off the cold air which they did right away and the place was warm in a couple of minutes. My family and I have given Student Burger so many second chances, but this will genuinely be the last time we ever give them our money. They should 100000% be ashamed for serving old, stale, and cold food to customers. I just can't believe the food I picked up from them tonight; I am honestly in such disbelief. I wouldn't care if it was just me, but it was so embarrassing to serve this food to my friend. I had contacted them a year ago via email, instead of leaving a negative yelp review, acting in good faith so they know what could be fixed with their services. But this was the last straw for me, and have no choice but to leave this review on Yelp. The burgers seemed maybe a day old? No clue how they can call their 'patty' a cheeseburger patty; this was the most dry, flavorless ground beef I have ever tasted in my life. The craft cheese on top looked like they just squeezed it in there, not melted at all. So all of our sandwiches were cold and stale. I would never recommend anyone to step a foot inside of this place. I don't like complaining about food; this is more towards the shameless nature of these business owners who take people's money in return of such horrible and horrifying service. Let me start of by saying that the Student Burger was average. It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything to brag about. However that being said, the philly cheesesteak was outstanding. The bread to meat ratio was very good. The customer service was also outstanding. Very helpful and kind. The fries needed a touch more salt but were very crispy.
