I can't begin to tell you how angry I am at my health insurance for forcing me to go to CVS, when this gem of a pharmacy is right in town. Short of medications though, we come for cards, household necessities and more. I even got my eye test here, rather than deal with the DMV! When the COVIS-19 pandemic hit, we've found TP here when the supermarket was wiped out. They even have face masks behind the counter, including quality N95 masks in 10 packs. So happy Stuart's exists. Wish I could dump CVS and just come here all the time! read more

On Saturday, May 21, 2022, I called the pharmacy to inquire about their having a product in stock. As I live a few miles away and I am not able to get around very well, I wanted to avoid an unnecessary trip. A person picked up and I told them what I was looking for. They told me they would connect me with the manager. I was put on hold for a little over 2 minutes. Another person picked up and asked how they could help. Again I told them what I was looking for and they said they would check, and again I was put on hold for a little over 2 minutes. A third person picked up and I told them that I was waiting to find out if they had a particular product in stock. I was told to hold on, and again put on hold for a little over 2 minutes. A fourth person picked up and the same song and dance happened. After over 9 minutes on hold, I hung up. I posted on their Facebook page about this and not only did I get no response, the post was removed. I have heard many good things about this pharmacy but I will never shop there and will recommend that my friends and family throughout the area avoid this merchant. read more

I've been going here since I was a child, and still go here for my prescription and essentials. As a pharmacy it's one of the best in the town, they have a lot of medicine and over the counter pills that your looking for in stock. As staff wise it's a little shaky some are truly very nice and some are just mean and disrespectful there. I understand working at a pharmacy isn't easy, but at least give 100 percent respect to the customers, and always be honest as well. read more

This review is only for the pharmacy. I always have great experiences, and the 99% of the time have the medication in stock, my go to, especially when CVS does not have it. They fill a prescription very quickly, especially if it's for a child's medication. I would highly recommend using this pharmacy over a chain. read more

Would never use this place for a prescription again. Was called in 24 hours before I picked it up and it still wasn't ready. Was treated rudely by the staff. They charged me triple what my copay should have been. And when I questioned them they told me to call my insurance company. An hour later I finally got my prescription. Went home, counted my pills and was shorted one. I guess this is how this place works. Short people a pill here and there to try to save money. I always try to give business to smaller stores instead of big chains and places like this make me regret it. read more

Love my neighborhood pharmacy, come here all the time. So glad we have Stuart's, much rather shop here than anywhere else. The staff is super super friendly. Love the Italian woman that works the register, she reminds me of when I was a kid going into the neighborhood store and having a relationship with the store clerk. place is very very homey, extremely well kept and clean. O! Dear :( Better luck going to the CVS down the road! Outdated Overpriced (most things) Overly Opinionated PERVY front door/security little dude. I must admit, they sometimes have good deals on eggs and milk on the weekends, but usually there's a catch. Your better off going down Merrick Road to "Berry Hill Farms" to buy cheap eggs (99 cents x-tra large, all week) and produce. My disappointment with this store starts off at the front entrance, which feels more like a prison...the IN/OUT doors are really cramped, damp and dimly lit. Upon walking in, the store gives off an awkward feel. Its organized well but you can sense the pervy eyes on you. The checkout staff sort of resemble characters out of a George Ramiro horror spoof...outgrown stringy platinum roots and jittery, almost skeleton-like movements. I perused up and down the aisles for a little trying to pick out a Mothers Day card and check out the candy selection. I had a weird feeling that somebody was following me the whole time, whenever I'd turn my head to look I'd see this little treelike figure scurrying out of my line of vision. I walked up and down the isles a few times... 4 dollars for a single greeting card, WTF? I also looked at their cosmetics section to find a cheap lip gloss, everything was like 1 or 2 dollars more than a standard pharmacy. Their food selection is pretty strange; almost a whole shelf devoted to condiments and canned meat. I was looking for tuna, and found it smooshed on the bottom row, priced at $1.70 for a 5oz can of chunk light. I walked to the front to leave the store, unsatisfied, with no Mother's Day card, because i REFUSED to pay $4, when I finally came upon the "creature" that had been following me...I thought I was imagining it but there he/it was in plain site..a very tiny blonde old man with a chest full of hot air and beady eyes, standing in front of the exit door like a superhero...I was wearing a skirt and I felt his eyes travel up my legs until finally our eyes met. I got kinda freaked out and scurried to the exit door when he blocked it and accused me of stealing. I wouldn't bother from this lamo store, so I told him I had nothing and emptied out my pockets to prove it. He looked me up and down and then gave a sort of munchkin-like exhale before moving from his 'throne' and allowing me to leave the store. In conclusion, this place was mad creepy. It gives off a feeling of that really old-school Massapequa in the 80's vibe...The majority of customers had handlebar stashes, big fluffy hair, and cakey makeup. I should have known, by the check-out girl's obnoxiously greased-out fake platinum hair and long nails, that this place was not for me...but I thought i'd give it a shot. Luckily I escaped unscathed, only a little violated by the eyes of one very teeny tiny old munchkin man. ***if your lookin' for deals, I'd pass up this place and go to the CVS or Walgreens down the road...their prices are consistent with the industry standard. If cheap food is what your after, I'd recommend Valentino's Market on 107 by Sunrise Hwy or Berry Hill Farms, on Merrick ----nothing beats those deals! Eek! I went to the emergency room this past summer with severe back pain. They gave me a prescription for a painkiller. It's Sunday, and my regular pharmacy closed at 3pm. I went to STUARTS instead. The pharmacist at STUARTS (an old man with grey beard) was rude and had a nasty, condescending attitude. He wouldn't fill the prescription because it had the PA's name on it and not the doctor. I drove all the way back to hospital, got new script with doctor's name on it. Back at the pharmacy, same pharmacist has the cashier tell me that he's not filling the script again because it's dated for the next day, (which it WASN'T. The 8 looked like a 9, but with closer inspection you could see that it was the lack of pen pressure when the doctor rewrote it.) This pharmacy also shorted me in the past on medication for a family member, by SEVENTY PILLS - which I got - but not without a struggle. That's one of the reasons I stopped going there. I think he may have remembered the incident, and that was why he was being such a jerk. I went to WALGREEN'S on Sunrise Highway, and they filled it in 5 minutes, with no hassles. I'll never step foot in Stuarts Pharmacy again. read more

I have been getting my medicine at stuart's since I moved to Long Island. This is by far the friendliest and warmest environment I have ever gone to. Marcos knows my name that's how warm and friendly of pharmacy it is. No CVS is going to remember the small things that this pharmacist staff will, because they care about their small town. They have great deals on milk and eggs on the weekend; other things are a little overpriced but you have to know what to get and when to get it(basic shopping 101) I have only had one problem there, one of the women who works up front in her 40's long blond hair...not the manager rips the cash out of my hand. Let me give you the money it is rude and unprofessional to take money out of someone's hand. Other than that issue I go there every weekend for milk and little odds and ends! read more

The pharmacist took 40mins out of his insanely busy schedule to help me find what I needed then give me all the pros and cons of the different products! My usual pharmacy CVS had to order a prescription for next day being they didn't have in stock. Next day they called and said sorry we didn't get and no other CVS has within 20 miles. My daughter is really sick so of course no was not an answer for me. I called Stuart's and they took care of everything like calling CVS to get the prescription,calling me ASAP etc. The staff was so extremely nice. It is rare to find this treatment anywhere these days. I really appreciated them! read more

I have to say the staff is very friendly but the prices are very high if you need to pay out of pocket. My 19 year old son was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and I was told they carried the special antibiotic. I had to fill 3 days at a time because they charge $8 a pill! I didn't think to shop around until my doctor mentioned I could get for 1-2 at most. I spoke to the owner who was very accommodating and immediately dropped price to $2 a pill. My issue is when I went to get reimbursed from my insurance they said the astronomical $8 a pill cannot b covered . I called the store and asked about being reimbursed for the difference as I spent $125 for 15 pills. They said they don't do that. This leaves a bad taste in my mouth but have learned to do my research ahead of time . I will now have the medicine sent from Brooklyn for $1/pill read more

For years now I've been getting my prescriptions filled here. I can't speak much on the actual store part of this place, but I do have some complaints to share about the actual Pharmacy itself. The only issues from the past 5 years or so I have encountered were long wait times (on occasion, usually not too bad though) and poor service (I don't know this woman's name but she was kind of condescending). That was up until recently, when I opened up a prescription I got from here, I noticed a very obvious larger pill than the rest of the medication. Obviously I was very happy I noticed this before just throwing it into my mouth! I tried looking up this odd pill online, and it seems to be for KIDNEY DISEASE! I was so mad!! I can almost understand receiving an entirely wrong container of medication, but I never thought it would be possible to have ONE random off pill?? I was going to report this to the pharmacy but really did not see a point to be honest. But I do hope they see this review and their pharmacists become more vigilant in the future.. read more

I had a script to fill alimentum baby formula and Cvs couldn't fill it and neither could Charlie's. I tried a surgical company too that wouldn't do it. Stuart's took the initiative to figure out not only how to fill it but to change the script from liquid to powder. I am so grateful for them! read more

The pharmacist area is blocked by a tall shelf which stops the cus tomer from relating with whoever might be in that day. If you happen to speak to a pharmacist he tends to be abrupt and at times arrogant. All other employees are pleasant. General merchandise is severly overpriced when not on sale. I believe the owner allows this situation to continue, without caring what customers feel. read more

I refilled my sons prescription last week and the pharmacist called me to let me know it was very expensive. With the deductible it would cost $286. He suggested I go online to the drug makers website and retrieve an RX code and call him back. I went on the website and provided the number to the pharmacist which brought the cost down to $35. When my wife's medication did not arrive from our incompetent mail-order pharmacy, I was scrambling to find a local pharmacy that stocked an expensive, infrequently-used chemotherapy agent. Pharmacist Marcos came to the rescue. he handled the insurance denial, the override, and all the paperwork, finally finishing at 7:58 PM on Saturday night. Despite the 8 PM closing time, he then offered to stay late for me--even though I live 45 minutes away. I opted to come early on Sunday, when Pharmacist Jimmy greeted with a smile and was aware of the entire situation. G-d bless them all for their dedication and kindness. read more
