Great place for party related rentals. For the holidays, we rented a table, chairs and chair pads. The rentals made the evening more elegant for our intimate holiday dinner for our very small family. We came in a week before our holiday dinner, was greeted accordingly. We looked around the display floor. The staff lady came around and helped us with ideas. We had to put 50% down and when we picked up right before holiday, the warehouse staff had the table, chairs, chair pads ready (the chair and chair pads were sealed and wrapped too). Returning rentals were very easy as well. It's only 3 stars because although rental merchandise and store service were great. I had to knock the rating by 2 stars, as I emailed several times through their website (before visiting showroom) and never received a reply at all. If emailing is not a working option, then why offer that option. 3/14/17 Thank you very much Andrew for acknowledging and explaining the email issues during the holidays. It's much appreciated ! I would give you a hundred-star rating if I could. You made the graduation party... spectacular. Tables, Chairs, Linens, umbrellas that matched her college colors. Arrived on time, called us ahead to let us know they were arriving on time to drop off and pick up. What great customer service. Carrie and Mike, you are the best! Stuarts is my go-to for all of my party planning and I will share. This was short notice to host backyard graduation party and they were happy to help us with what we needed for 40 guests. read more

When you're in the world of event planning, you know there's nothing more important than finding liaisons in the industry who understand your plight and help you plan accordingly. I was dealing with the Craneway Pavliion, a massive 45,000 square foot space, and had free reign on how I wanted to utilize the interior. After a few fortuitous connections, I was brought under the wing of Kaycee McKenzie. This planning renegade harnessed all her previous experience from event planning (she owned her own company for years) and started walking me through the steps. Think about flow. Think about how you'll want to spread out the vendors. Consider the outdoors. The wind. The lighting. She really helped cover all the bases. Before I knew it, she and I were mapping out a plan on the blueprints and making moves. We talked tables, linens, lounge area, seating, crowd control, and stage placement. Honestly, with Kaycee at the helm, I felt secure in my decisions. This was the biggest party I'd ever thrown (4,000 is a lot of people and 60 sponsors is a lot of sponsors) and with Kaycee's experience, she helped make this a slam dunk party. read more

My experience with this place ends with the first phone call. When I called up Stuart to inquire about a rental, the representative was really unprofessional. The rep listened for no more than 30 seconds before cutting me off and, without explaining anything, she said she'd call me back. When I asked if she needed any info from me to get a quote, she said (rather snappily) that they were busy and understaffed. (Compare this to Event Magic, which told me exactly what steps to take and what info to supply them with in order to get a quote). Sure, I get that everyone gets stressed out, but this kind of unprofessional communication with potential customer who's calling your company up to get a quote (ie. to check you out) is not a good sign, and for me, reason not to call back. read more

In the 22 years I have been in the event management industry I have never deal with such unprofessional, condescending people in my entire career. The initial phone call should've set the tone for me - the account rep was very matter-of-fact, and basically telling me what I had to do vs. listening to what I wanted. They charged me a fee for the initial site visit and didn't even bother to apply it to the overall bill once I ordered close to $4,000 in rentals from them (I actually had to comment on how ridiculous it was and I was reluctantly given the credit of the site fee towards the overall amount). My client had a last-minute change and I called it into Stuart and the account manager treated it like a total inconvenience and instead of saying, "I don't know what we can do but I'll certainly look into it" I got a lot of "no's" and inflexibility. When I finally had enough of the person I was working with, I asked to work with someone else and she aprubtly put me on hold for close to 10 minutes. I had to call back and got a gentlemen that seemed a little more helpful, but when I needed some last minute quotes on something I never got a call back and instead I had to go through another vendor (which by the way resulted in a loss of an additional $3,000 that they could've had). The worst part was that I called the night of the party to confirm pick-up time on Saturday morning as the company we did the party for needed to schedule someone to unlock the gates to pick up the rentals. I got a hold of someone and she told me that they would be there between 11am and 1pm which is what I relayed to my client. Next thing I know, my entire family was awoken from the sounds of my cell phone at 7am on Saturday morning from the delivery driver saying he was in front of the office. When I told him that nobody would be there until 11, I was rudely told we'd be charged for the delivery drive to come back. After challenging this charge, I was told they wouldn't charge extra for coming back because of their error. I made sure to email both account reps to let them know how disappointed I was with the service and NEVER GOT A REPLY BACK. Insulting, degrading and unprofessional in my book. I will never use Stuart again. I wouldn't be surprised if they were quick to reply on this site, though! read more

Thanks for your apology and your offer for a discount on a future order, though I don't think any future business will take place. I understand miscommunications can happen but a better effort needs to be made to guarantee that all customer needs are met. read more

I'm updating my review to four stars because of the response from the owner on Yelp and because I know the hiring issue is a real problem right now. I still can't give them 5 stars for this most recent experience because of the issue I explained, but I'd probably be less wary of using them for other, perhaps larger, events in the future than I previously expressed now knowing what the source of the problem was and that it's a legitimate and, hopefully, temporary problem that wasn't their fault. read more

Just to clarify my review in regards to the reply by the business. Yes, I had been in touch with your salesperson for a month leading up to payment for my quote. The actual timeline I posted in my initial review is absolutely correct, and two years later, I still have the emails to prove it. I literally received a final quote on April 2nd, 2013, I then sent in my contract, with deposit, that NEXT DAY April 3rd, a Wednesday. I did not get any kind of confirmation, thought I'd give it time to process. Became concerned and followed up on April 5th, Laura responded April 9th! She apologized in an email (I still have) for your employees overbooking. It is the definition of f'n up, and the fact that you tip-toed around that in your response below irritates me. read more

This is a review based purely on the lack of customer service. I called just to get a quote a few months back, I did get an email one time, from Andrew, asking for some info, but then never heard from him again. I called, emailed and called again asking to see if someone else could help me get a quote, the receptionist gave me Andrew's cell phone number... I called and left a message and still have not heard from them at all. I'll have to take my business somewhere else. very disappointed but see I am not the only one. read more

I used Stuart Rental for my boss's 25th wedding anniversary and Mark Marini was amazing! He handled all the changes and crazy requests with grace and ease. Very happy over all and will happily work with them again on future events I coordinate. Every Last Detail read more

Fast, easy to work with, and great pricing!

I've been meaning to do this for awhile, but I just want to say what a pleasure it is working with Stuart Rentals. My account rep, Aaron Feldman has been outstanding. Whether it has been help with planning large events weeks down the line, or more commonly, last minutes changes or additions, he has always been prompt, detailed and with a smile on his face. I have never felt like I was inconveniencing him with my unannounced "I need this now." requests. The great customer service goes beyond my account rep. Many times I have been helped by Gwen and Gloria. They always stop whatever they are working on and help expedite my orders or returns with personable service. Francisco and his crew in the warehouse are very helpful as well. I have had many positive interactions with Stuarts. One example (which is why I decided to write this review) was a day when I had multiple events at different locations. The crew came to set up a tent, tables, chairs and linens. I met them where the event was to take place. I gave the crew leader the map and had a brief conversation about the set up. I got called away and completely lost track of time. The crew leader called me to sign off on set up and I was a little panicked that I didn't come and check on them during the set up. I run out there and it was finished perfectly. The whole transaction was a couple of email conversations with Aaron about what tent I needed, 5 minutes with the crew by giving them a map, showed them where the water was for the barrels and everything was done. They even came back the next day to get everything without needing my attention. What a time saver! While I'm certainly not one of their big accounts, but if I'm standing on the loading dock and the president of the company stops to ask if I'm being helped or the vice president helping me with rentals before they open, they have always made me feel like I'm their most important client. read more

Amazing. I worked with Laura Sutton on my engagement party and she was great at helping me plan and execute my vision. If I needed to do it again, Stuart Rental would be first on the list. FYI, Don't forget to friend Stuart rental on facebook and get 10% off on labored supplies. read more

This is a review for one of their representative named Gloria. Gloria has low customers service skills and Im sure the reason why people complained or even went to other facilities was because of her. She has no patience in talking to anyone on the phone and you feel like your inconveniencing her when you call to ask questions about the rental items. It does not seem like she enjoys or wants to do her job. The first time i visited Stuart Rental was one of my worst experiences. She was not helpful at all. When i told her i was planning an event she easily directed me to the online website that i have already looked at........i mean its the reason i was there. When you actually get to look at the rental items you have a better idea of what youre getting.....but No she was more interested in sitting in her chair telling me how expensive certain items where going to be. Not once did i ask her to tell me the price of anything. Money was not an issue but i guess she assumed it was going to be for me. On the phone, shes even better. When I had a question about an item, she quickly gave me attitude asked "well, is this on the website?!" .......I would think if im asking about an item...wouldnt it be on your website. Then when i wanted her to help me figure measurements for a certain part of the item she quickly answered she couldnt do it because it was all the way in the back of the warehouse and that she'd have to call me tomorrow (i doubt she would call me and i was right.) But not everyone i've spoken with or met is not like Gloria. There is also Mike Berman, who was very helpful and did not make me feel so frustrated in making an order. Theres also Jenna, who helped me when I called back the next day regarding the certain measurements i needed becasue supposedly i was going to get a call back from Gloria. I would rate them higher but unfortunately i've had too many incidents with Gloria because she was the main person i had to encounter every single time. Its to the point where if she did answer i would have to hang up sometimes just because i didnt want to deal with her great service. read more

This was the only rental company I knew of, and came here on the recommendation of some friends and family. The showroom in Mountain View is pretty nice, I am a visual person so it helped to have physical tables and chairs that I could feel, sit on, check for table height etc. They have a lot of little items for rent that make a party a success, but people may not have in their private homes. Beautiful drink dispensers, matching napkins etc. I racked up quite a bill getting everything for a wedding party in our yard. The customer service was good, and when I emailed to modify my order as some people dropped out, the email responses were quick and efficient. No complaints there. The reason for my low rating is the following. After I rented the tables and chairs and various items that go with a wedding party, glasses, plates, silverware, napkins etc etc, I talked to my caterer who laughed out loud and told me that I am a sucker for agreeing to spend $1200 on a wedding party rental. I didn't know the going rate for renting all these items. Long story short, my caterer provided me with ALL the things that Stuart Rental was supposed to, for under $500, rather than $1200. The cancellation of the majority of my order went off without a hitch. I still needed some glasses that my caterer was unable to get, and I rented a dance floor to put down on our lawn. I was told that the delivery would be between 9:30 and 5 on Friday. Luckily since it was my wedding on Saturday I was home for the delivery. I was surprised at how wide this "delivery window" was. The delivery guys arrived at 8am. Better early than late I guess, but we weren't ready for them 1.5 hours early. A phonecall the night before or before they arrived would have been nice. For the pickup on Tuesday, I decided to call Stuart Rental to see if I could get a narrower delivery window so I wouldn't have to miss a day of work. They told me between 11:30 and 2:00. I asked if it was possible to narrow that down and they said no, its a holiday weekend and there are a lot of orders that they must pick up. I understand that business is business and it is hard to coordinate many pickups all over the Peninsula, but really, to expect people to miss two days of work waiting for the delivery guys, either side of their party is unreasonable. The company I ended up going with for the tables and chairs delivered at 8.30am on the day of my party and picked up all the stuff at 6pm the same day. This worked far better for me and I didn't need to wait for anyone during the week. read more

Awesome service, fast and reliable. The chairs I rented were if new conditions. I am a repeat customer.

I have been renting party things for years. Always I have been dissatisfied with the quality of plates, glasses and linens offered. I was completely blown away by the high quality of options offered by Stuart--Riedel glasses, heavy silver plated cutlery, gorgeous fine china and linens in every imaginable color. It is definitely the highest end place in the Bay Area. Plus the pricing was comparable to other rental companies who offering much lower quality items. They delivered right on time and picked up with no issues. But the highlight was after the deliver I discovered one of the table cloths was not the same size as the other, which looked rather odd. I phoned to tell them and they had an employee drive to my home immediately with several new table cloths. She waited while we tried them on the table to make sure it was perfect. All in all, great service and a super quality product. read more

We first rented from Stuart for our wedding back in 2001.. over the years, we've rented from them for various event needs at church. Besides the 50% non-refundable fee if you cancel too close to the event, everything else has always gone fine and dandy. And really, the 50% fee was there in fine print in the contract, so we're not complaining, but it just stung a little for a past event we had to cancel some rentals for. Overall a great service! read more

I have gone through Stuart Rentals for the last three years to provide tents, tables and chairs for our commencement ceremony in San Jose. They were gracious, patient and accommodating while dealing with our changes and short timeline. I highly recommend Stuart Rental Company for any event. Okay, so I've been planning for months on our party and I am so relieved that I chose Stuart as our vendor. Keri has been such a helpful and accomodating person to work with, professional, and has always gotten back to me. My agency had a big ground breaking ceremony planned this week and we had to rent some canopies to house 200+ attendees. After going through some pricing process, we decided on Stuart Rental Company. We worked with Trish to get all the proper paper work processed. The crew led by Roger, arrived on time at 6:30 a.m. to start setting up 3 canopies and a 8x16 stage. They were efficient, professional, and very accommodating. We planned to have them complete the canopies by 10:30 a.m. in order for us to finish the rest of the setup for a 1 pm event. They were on time like clock work. I was very pleased with their performance. The only hiccup was getting the installation information. I needed to get the installers's information ahead of time due to tight security. I was told that information will be provided 24 hour in advance of the installation date. When I didn't hear from Trish by 2:00 p.m. the day before the event, I was really nervous. Luckily, someone from the office called me back and e-mail me the information so there was not a delay the next day. Overall, I am very satisfy with Stuart Rental Company. I'd recommend them to others for future business. The commuication part does need improvement because customers need the assurance that their event will go off without a hitch. Hopefully, they will take this feedback to heart. read more

We contacted Stuart Rentals a few weeks before our wedding, and they made the process of renting and setting up at the wedding venue efficient and transparent. On the day of the wedding, I called Stuart's about setting up promptly in a tight window, and they came exactly on time at their earliest convenient and finished the set up in about 30min - 1 hour. Great products at a reasonable price! I usually rent from A Party Place in Campbell since they're much closer to me, but their inventory of product offerings is not nearly as large as Stuart's! So much to choose from, we ended up getting items we hadn't even planned on because we knew they would add a lot of value to our event. We worked with Tiffany Perez and she was fabulous. I couldn't recommend this business more highly. I found Stuart Rentals when I was planning my wedding and loved their selection of furniture items as well as the prices. I worked with two people who were both incredibly friendly, prompt, responsive, and helpful: first, Cindy Foster, who helped me secure my rentals. When the pandemic necessitated our shelter in place order, I reached out to Cindy for options on what to do about postponing our date. She was very kind and comforting. I then worked with Mark Pringle, who not only graciously allowed us to modify and reduce our order (we decided to have an intimate ceremony), but even personally quality-checked our itemized order (finding an issue with our linens and replacing the proper size and upgrading our fabric at no cost) to ensure we would have a magical wedding day in the midst of our current circumstances. I truly appreciate how Stuart approached this situation with compassion and humanity - no cancellation fees and they even refunded our order for the items we no longer needed. I was in close contact with Mark up until the weekend of our wedding - he was a true partner who helped me execute our wedding day. Ismael delivered our order and was incredibly knowledgable and helpful. He actually brought an alternate set of table legs based on our use of a sofa and we ended up using those and the whole look was cozy, chic, and stunning. I will return to Stuart for every event I host. Thank you so much for partnering with us and making our wedding day so incredibly beautiful and a day we will never forget. read more

I rarely write reviews but here's my experience with Stuart Rentals. In the beginning, I was helped by Gloria and then after with Mark. Mark took his time to help me set up my quote and with everything I needed for the party. They have told me that they would call me an hour before they deliver or pick up the stuff. The day before the party, I received a call from Gloria and was questioned about the address. The address didn't have a number but the name of the place was basically the address and was not hard to find on Google. She kept insisting that there should be an address and then proceeded to tell me that if the delivery drivers could not find the place or was lost, they would not deliver my chairs and tables. Horrible customer service to be told that, which made me really upset that I paid for it but they wouldn't deliver if they were lost. I sent an email and Mark reassured me that the drivers will call me if they have any issues with finding the place. The day of the party, the drivers found the place without any issues and I received all my chairs and tables. Pick up day, I did not receive a call on what time the drivers will come. No one was home until I get a call from my mom telling me that she just came home to see the drivers in our backyard with the gate open getting all the tables and chairs. It was unprofessional for them to go through our backdoor without notifying me. Overall the three stars was for Mark who is a really great worker and helped through the process. For the tables and chairs that I received were really nice as well. read more

Just a small feedback regarding the receptionist or to whoever answers the call before directing us to the sales staff in charge of the order, as a service provider, he/she should be aware of the necessary information instead of saying call back, leave a vm or email the person-in-charge.
