I am so happy with my decision to use Stuart Rentals for my party. I was working with them for months leading up to my event to fine tune what we needed for a backyard cocktail party. The website was really easy to navigate and order, and the staff was available for any questions. We ordered a full bar with 2 bar backs, 45 chairs, 4 buffet tables, 10 cocktail tables, 4 banquet tables and linens for the buffet tables. Delivery was smooth and everything was wrapped well and looked great. The chairs were the only exception and we took some photos and called the customer service line and they replaced them the next morning, with plenty of time before the party. We had a small event with about 40 people, and they came and delivered right on time, made it super easy, and then picked it up right after as well. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. But let's start on a high note. Keri is GREAT to work with. Her care and customer support was outstanding and this review is in no way a reflection on her at all. Since it had been a few years since I'd organized a large event, I wanted to be very hands on with the items I was picking out. Not to mention our boss is very particular with the style and quality of any rental. I'd worked with William's Rental many times over the years and knew their quality was good so knowing Stuart had purchased William's I didn't go in with much hesitation. We called ahead and scheduled an appointment to meet with Keri at their Milpitas location. I emailed her the items I was interested in and asked to see them when we visited the showroom which she had pulled when we arrived. Keri took very good care of us as we walked the showroom choosing plates, glassware, chairs etc. Then we went in the back to look at the couches and tables that were pulled for us. LOVED them! My co-worker and I felt really excited about what we'd picked out and very satisfied that we'd made the right choice by choosing Stuart. The day our rentals arrived ... my heart sank and my blood boiled. The couch and tables we originally saw were still nice but a little more tattered than I remember. There were tears in the material and the fabric was pretty dirty. We removed the cushions and had to vacuum the crumbs left by previous evets. Then I saw the gold Chiavari chairs .... these were in TERRIBLE condition. Black duct tape on the seats that was very visible even when the cushions were set in place. This was just unacceptable. We had to tighten all the screws on each chair and barstool because they were all loose and caused the chairs to be unsafe. There were two that were completely unusable. Benches were trashed. Scratched all over and chunks of wood were missing. We spend over an hour trying to color match the stain to hide the marks. These literally looked like there were picked up on the side of the road. Lamp Posts were super wobbly and also in poor condition. Lycra table covers were marked up and thinning. Several had holes. Overall I was very upset with 90% of our rental choices. None of this stuff should ever have been rented out and because of that, we will never use Stuart or recommend them to anyone. Actually, I will recommend they steer clear of this place unless quality isn't a concern. This makes me sad because Keri was such a pleasure to work with. She's the only reason they deserve a star. read more

I would have given 5 stars, but for the chairs that I rented which were intended to be place on hardwood floors. The feet on the chairs were in such poor and roughed up condition, I had to buy felt pads and put them on all of the chairs to protect my floors. A couple of chairs had feet that were so bad it wasn't possible to apply the felt pads. I think, when renting chairs they should let you know if they're not suitable for hardwood or other non-scratch resist floors. read more

I rented table and chairs from this company 3 years ago, June 2021. I had a great experience. HOWEVER, last month, June 2024 ordered 10 white padded chairs, 2 round tables, 3 high top tables, popcorn maker and linens for all tables. I was EXTREMELY UPSET because the CHAIRS are NOT in presentable condition. They have deep dark gray and black scuffs/scratches along the frame of the chair - top back frame where you'd rest your back. I thought I could Clean them with a little bleach and water but realized they are permeated deep scuffs. It was embarrassing that the chairs looked so badly for my dinner party. The table ate not in great condition but you cover them with table cloths, so that not an issue. Also the high top, black fitted linen has a large rip toward the bottom. I think it's just good business replaced worn and too used rental items like chairs and linens. On Monday, I called and spoke to the manager he told me that when I rented them 3 years ago they were new and this is just they was they are now. Bad answer! I was so disappointed because I had such a great experience in June 2021 when I used them for a party. It's sad because the staff was excellent when placing the order, helping me decide what was going to work best and calling me a couple days before to confirm my order. I have mixed feelings about Stuart Rentals. In the beginning they were very responsive and helpful. Their inventory is conveniently listed online so you can see each product, and there is a good variety to match any event. I found prices a bit more expensive than other companies during my research. Working with Lauren was *initially* easy via email, and I was able to edit the items often (but there were a few times the quote wasn't updated). Right before my event, she notified me that some linens were unavailable. They hadn't checked until a few days prior and another client never returned the linens I ordered. My decor was planned around these linens. She selected another color which did not match AT ALL, and told me I'd have to drive 1 hour the morning of my event if I wanted to change the color, which I was unable to do. Rentals: They accidentally ordered umbrella linens so all my cocktail tables had a giant hole in the center! We tried to cover them with bud vases but it was visible :( They also ordered the umbrella canopy and the base... but no pole... so half our patio was unusable due to extreme sun. Both of these mistakes were careless. Setup: She did not clarify that the setup fee only covered the tent, so my husband and elderly father had to carry and open all the tables! I was so mad.. if she had told me, I would have paid the additional setup. During the pickup after my event, they removed the rentals by using a dolly to pull them off our tiled deck- our tiles were broken because they just pulled the rentals down off the ledge instead of lifting them over. Quality: The tables and couches had not been cleaned!!!! There were stains and crumbs on the couches, and water stains on the glass coffee tables. We spent the morning of my event vacuuming the furniture and spot cleaning. There were ketchup stains on the pillows which was embarrassing. Makes me nervous there is no COVID protocols!!! Overall if there was better attention to detail, the day-of would have been more smooth. The tent was very well done and we were happy with the tenting team. But it took WEEKS of me chasing Lauren to finally get refunded the items I didn't receive or were incorrect, and I still never saw the updated receipt I requested. They reimbursed additional $500 for our tiles which is much less than the cost to repair, but I never had time to get a quote. I just had a baby and I've been spending my little free time chasing Lauren. Not happy about that. 3 stars, but added 1 because they reimbursed partially. read more

Two days before my wedding banquet, I discovered glassware was not provided at my venue and had a panic attack. I immediately started looking up vendors on Yelp and came across Stuart Event Rentals, who had good reviews and since I'm a fellow Yelper, I had faith. I left them a voicemail in the middle of the night and the next morning, received a callback before their business hours about working together! Mark helped me put together my order and he is seriously the nicest and most professional guy ever. He worked with what I needed and provided helpful suggestions. It was such a smooth transaction and helped relieve a lot of my anxiety from it being so last minute. During pickup, I didn't realize all the glassware were in these enormous crates and there were 12 of them, so obviously it wouldn't fit in my sedan. Seeing that they were closing at 5:30pm and my husband's navigation said he would arrive at 5:31pm, I asked the kind gentleman to leave the remainder of the crates outside for us. He kindly waited until my husband arrived (earlier than expected) and helped us load all 12 crates into the car! That is amazing customer service. Returning all the glassware was a breeze and service yet again, was impeccable. So grateful Stuart Rentals came to our rescue when we needed them, helped us with loading and unloading, and also were so nice with every encounter. Thanks for everything. If you're picking up, it's kind of tucked away off the main drag in Milpitas, kinda behind Denny's in that area, which works great for us cuz it's close to where we live. They had everything I needed, even on somewhat short notice (just white folding chairs, 3 or four banquet tables, linens and a free-standing umbrella for over our spa) for a family reunion on Labor Day weekend. Everything worked out great! (Mind you placed my order over the phone a week or two before my event). They loaded me up (they've done this a few times before, so they knew how to make everything fit in my Jeep) and I was on my way. I recommend you get their early to claim your spot on the loading ramp.
