I never felt like just another party, they really worked with me to make my vision a reality. I needed rentals for my wedding reception that was at an "off-the-grid" location, literally on a mountain top! From day one, when I first sat down with Mark M. he was the consummate professional and he made if fun. He helped me pick all the right things/quantities, being ever so patient with all my updates/last minute changes and consistently provided accurate updated quotes in a timely manner. Mark is a joy to work with, he was so genuine, responsive, always providing innovative solutions to my many unique "off-the-grid" logistical challenges and I had many! At every turn, he had an answer that worked!! I could not have pulled off this venue if Mark and his team at Stuart rentals weren't committed to the success of our party - I really felt that all throughout the process. To give an example, out of all the items, furniture, glasses, etc.. we rented the only issue we had was one square of the dance floor was missing upon delivery. Stuart rental did not even blink at this and immediately sent someone out with the missing piece. Not only was ONLY 1 thing missing from a massive order, but they had to drive 3 hours up a very windy mountain road to deliver it and they did!! With Mark's help we literally created (overnight) an outdoor restaurant/lounge on a remote mountain top that had a magical, "Rustic-Elegant" look and feel. Mixed feelings. Overall, Gwendolyn was awesome. She was responsive, quick to email, and always updated our order whenever we asked. However, the delivery was not what we expected. As our venue was not our home, we were told we would get a call 1 hour before arrival so that we could meet the rental truck as needed (this was also stated on our contract). For the initial delivery, they did not call. This resulted in them disrupting the people who do live at the venue site and made us rush over (a 20 minute ride). It felt complicated and disorganized for no reason. Then, as they were unloading, they realized they did not have the right pieces for installing the dance floor we ordered. They had to come back an hour later, they said they would call, and AGAIN, they never called. They simply let themselves into the space and were setting up. Finally, on the day of pick up, yet again, they were supposed to call an hour before and they did not. For a third time, we had to rush over, inconvenience the residence of the venue, and be annoyed. We're mixed because Gwendolyn was awesome and the rentals we received were great. However, the delivery process was messy, routed in poor communication, and left us feeling overwhelmed. read more

Very disappointed, I needed to rent 2 tables and 18 chairs for this weekend. A simple ask. I was sent the invoice and was told to fill it out. I noticed Leslie didn't add the amount to be paid on the invoice so I emailed back(this was stopping me from completing my order). No response. I called today and they said it was to late now. For a company that does very large-scale gorgeous events, I was extremely surprised to find wonderful small-business like customer service. I was helped out by Mark Marini in this office and he made it so easy to get what I needed for a Company Launch Event I was throwing. They have such a wide selection of so many unique items that can take your event over-the-top, in a good way! I came there needing furniture staging to recreate a classy vibe to showcase our guest speakers. I was planning a large backyard wedding way up in the mountains of Santa Cruz, and Stuart Rentals were incredibly helpful in making sure that they would deliver to our location AND could get the truck through our narrow roads to the house! I didn't think this large facility would be interested in my rather small order of two pedestal stands - and while I didn't get a response for a quote online, my phone experience was spectacular. The rental location was a bit far from me, and I'd called to find out when I'd need to return any items I rented for my Friday event by - Mark Marini offered us the option to return items on Monday! which made things so easy, that we rented a few more items from them like table covers and seat cushions, that I had initially planned on getting from someone closer. They did forget to give the people that picked up the rental items the Sterno holders to go with the chafing dish, but for all that, service was 5-star. We thought we'd dropped a key outside the rental return area, and although when they asked around they didn't find it (they couldn't have, we found it at another location), they'd been very nice about that, saying they'd keep an eye out for it. read more

Andrew and his team are such lifesavers! It was three weeks before my wedding when my wedding coordinator finally gave me the quote for my chivari chairs. About $3,200+! I was not happy. I was not going to spend that much money on something that people were going to sit on. Within an hour of getting the quote, I rejected it and I got in touch with my friend who worked at the Hyatt who had worked with Stuart Rentals before. I got a quote for all the chair for only 2000. That is including setup, delivery, and pickup. Fabulous! That's a huge savings. My wedding coordinator warned me that the quality of their chairs was not always great, but they were completely fine. I mean come on. How much can chair differ from vendor to vendor? I don't care a few chairs were not in perfect condition. No one is going to take a picture of one chair. I was very happy with all they could do for me in such a short time. They saved me from having ugly chairs and a nervous breakdown. read more

If you are looking for a fabulous tent in the east bay, look no further, Stuart Rental is the place to go! I've always dreamed of having my wedding outdoors in Wine Country under a big beautiful white tent with chandeliers. So when I got engaged I started my hunt! I was very surprised to find that there aren't many rental companies that will do a full tent liner and pole drapes, luckily I found Stuart Rental through yelp. I emailed them, Laura got back to me right away and we set up an appointment for me to come in. The showroom is beautiful and they have all sorts of tablescapes set up and had pulled out a selection of items that they thought might fit my vision and even took me back in the warehouse to look at the different chandeliers. We decided on a 40X60 tent with liner and drapes for the poles, one chandelier, and ambient lighting. Everything turned out BEAUTIFUL! It definitely wasn't cheap but it was sooo worth it. A month earlier my mom had rented a 20X20 tent for my bridal shower from a rental place in Livermore and it was AWFUL. The service was terrible and the tent was dirty and dingey. We truly wish she had used Stuart Rental instead and will only use them in the future! And my only regret for my wedding day order with Stuart Rental is that I wish I had gone even more extravagant with a bigger tent and more chandeliers....maybe for an anniversary party one day :-) read more

I recently planned an event at my home and contacted Mark at Stuart Rentals for help. I have used Stuart for large non-profit fundraisers before but never for a personal event, and I was wondering if they would be willing to do a small job. Well, they were willing and they did a great job! Mark set up a convenient delivery and pickup schedule, and accommodated a change to the order. His customer service was wonderful! Having a very bad experience so far with them... pdf quotes always seemed short(twice now), so pricing is always a surprise, designs are never per request even though everything is within what's available and was just a rearrangement of the original first draft. The person we're dealing with also keeps up selling items, here's the catch though, the person does it upon sending the quote(not in discussion) after explicitly asking for something else, so if you don't question it, you'll be paying for something you didn't even want or need and that alone is unacceptable. This person seems inexperienced, has a lack of project management skills and or is deliberately misleading us to spend more. My guess is it's all of the above. Maybe this person has a lot going on in their life? I sincerely hope all is well. I can understand a few mistakes, forgetfulness or not being tentative a few times but consistently? We're not throwing a corporate event but we're not spending chump change either. For now, this one star is a placeholder until the day of the event and after. Let's see if they can work their way up from one star. Update 11/16(after the party) After being reached out by one of the managers, things went smoother. However the planning and communications were pretty much already completed. All the furniture arrived on time and was arranged very nicely. Yvonne stayed for the setup to reassure things were satisfactory and they were - Thank you. The party was a hit and the arrangement and setting of the furniture definitely helped set that tone. Customers beware! I had terrible experience with this place. I called few weeks ago and got a quote from Ana for rentals, and made my deposit. I called again today to add few items and found out they are not planning a delivery to my site. It turns out they have a minimum amount that she failed to disclose to me during our call. Had she done that I would have added few other items and met the minimum for the delivery. Now they are saying they can't even deliver at all and that I would need to go through another company "Uber like" to coordinate pick up and delivery. What adds insult to injury is the lack of professionalism when I spoke to her and Mark. First of, she was rude and cut me off while speaking. Then she would go silent for 1 minute after. And put me on long hold and forwarded me to someone even more incompetent, Mike. He was condescending and told me he was trying to " help me secure the items for my party" as if it rare commodity . He refused to hear the feedback about my experience and kept repeating himself. There was no acknowledgment of the mistake Ana did what so ever so I requested refunds. He said he won't me charge restocking fees!!! And his tone was as if he was doing me a favor. Why would there be restocking fee when nothing was moved out of stock??! Then he offered me to wait a couple of days so I don't regret this and pretty much said to call their competitors and good luck in finding those rates or securing the items. Guess what? The first rental place I called their sales person started off by telling me about their minimum to deliver to my house! Something Ana failed to do. In the end it all worked out, I got better rates with delivery. I don't foresee Stuart Rentals business lasting if the rest of the staff is like Ana and Mike. No business succeeds when they screw over their customers. read more

Great place for party related rentals. For the holidays, we rented a table, chairs and chair pads. The rentals made the evening more elegant for our intimate holiday dinner for our very small family. We came in a week before our holiday dinner, was greeted accordingly. We looked around the display floor. The staff lady came around and helped us with ideas. We had to put 50% down and when we picked up right before holiday, the warehouse staff had the table, chairs, chair pads ready (the chair and chair pads were sealed and wrapped too). Returning rentals were very easy as well. It's only 3 stars because although rental merchandise and store service were great. I had to knock the rating by 2 stars, as I emailed several times through their website (before visiting showroom) and never received a reply at all.
