I was patient and on the phone with Mike (not sure of his name)for at least an hour trying to place an order for a wedding for 100 guest. Even though Mike seem to not know how to work the computer, (thats why we was on the phone for an hour what should have been 10minutes max based on other quotes) he seem to be very polite so I was patient with him. At the end of the conversation, he says there will be an extra delivery charge if I can't give him a window of delivery between 7am and 5pm. I stated that I informed him at the beginning our conversation the wedding was that day and that window was unreasonable. He said exactly they "I am all about the money. that what it sums up to". He also said he didn't know it was a venue when I first called and I informed him, neither did he ask. He said he would need to pick up the items 3 days after the event. I said I would have to check with the bride and see if she approve that. Immediately, he went from Dr Jeckle to Mr Hyde. He got very upset and started talking really rude. In the middle of me trying to explain I will call him back after I spoke to the bride, he abruptly said goodbye and hung up in my face. My order was $1400. I hope the owner of this company see this review, because even though the bride told me to go on with the order, I went and found another rental company that authentically very nice, whether things are going their way or not. Mike should have asked more information at the beginning of the conversation that lasted one whole hour . Very frustrating. I used to rent from them 10 years or so ago and forgot why I stopped and now I am reminded why. read more

I needed an extra table (6') and 10 chairs for a baby shower. I planned on going elsewhere, but Stuart Rental Co. is closer to my home than the other one. I called on Friday morning, the person there told me they had the chairs and table. I picked it up on Friday afternoon. Their warehouse guys loaded it in my vehicle. I also asked if they had a chafing dish and they had that too. Even if you need a few things for a party, they rent those items. They also have plastic table cloths if you need them. Their service is excellent, the woman who assisted me was terrific. I'm extremely pleased. I would highly recommend them. I would imagine that in the seasons of graduations and weddings, you'd probably need to give them more lead time, but for the August Baby Shower I threw, they came through! read more

I worked with someone named Mark P., and his courtesy and competence was so outstanding that it made an impression on us. We transacted everything over the phone, and delivery was prompt. We were cooking for a wedding of 350 people (not normal for us) and the products we ordered were delivered on time (actually in advance) and in good condition. Stuart Rental (Cindy) was very considerate and helpful throughout the process. Very responsive in a minor emergency when we received 27 flat pans and needed 27 catering pans for cooking. I rented the white cushioned folding chairs for a special event. I paid extra to have them delivered at my venue within a certain time frame, and they did so as scheduled. The white chairs were very dirty. My event planner had her staff clean them, but the black marks would not come off. I paid $549 for 120 chairs. For that price I would expect them to be clean. This review is based on using Stuart rental services this last June for my best friends wedding. I was maid of honor so of course I helped my bestie plan the wedding. She wanted to use Stuart rentals for her tent, tables, chairs and more. She came over to my house and we both called together to set up the reservations months ahead of the wedding date. The lady on the phone was not helpful, you must go to the website and get the exact item number because she wasn't aware of anything I was mentioning from there own website. After about 30 minutes of making sure everything was exactly right we got the order handled and now all we had to do was wait for the day. On the day before the wedding which is an hour away from there office the truck came to drop off everything and it was ALL WRONG, I'm not even kidding wrong chairs a tacky tent with NO LIGHTS OR CURTAINS that We asked for. It was a mess!!! Can you imagine how mad my best friend was, she is literally talking about it to this day and it's 6 months later! So after the mistake of them bringing the wrong things we thought, hey maybe we can just call and get everything over here before the wedding the next day. So we called Stuart rentals and they said they would call us back. About 30 minutes before they were going to close we just called them back instead. No answer.. Called again no answer, called again no answer. By this time they closed. The next day still no answer!!! They didn't want to drive an hour out of there way to give me what I ordered for my friend. It's just crazy these people really know how to ruin a wedding. Yes, the wedding still went on but we as women have that one special day and we have a vision as to how we want it and for some of us it doesn't matter the cost because that one day is YOUR DAY and all of that can be taken away by a company like this who simply doesn't care. I was told about Stuart Event Rentals about two weeks before my baby shower. I gave the Castro Valley location a call (they have three locations throughout the Bay, Castro Valley being one). Thankfully Mark was the person I got on the phone and the entire process was smooth and easy. They have online forms that make it super easy to sign contracts and look at invoices. The items I rented were GORGEOUS, actually exceeding my expectations. Since my event was on a Saturday, I was able to pick up the items Friday (anywhere between 9-5pm) and drop them off also any time on Monday. Terrible experience and I never walked in the door. I called on a Friday afternoon at 4 43 I asked about the availability of tables, they informed me that yes we have plenty of tables. She said no problem we are open tomorrow (Saturday ) I said great then I will wait till tomorrow. Well I arrived at 9 am no one there so I figured there running late, nope when I looked through the gate at the door it said CLOSED SATURDAYS why would she tell me that, I would of tried to make it there Yesterday the only thing I can think of is stupidity.
