She did a head CT that revealed a deviated septum, and referred me to Dr. Wassmuth. I was quite impressed by the kindness, courtesy, and professionalism when I first visited the office of Capitol Otolaryngology. Dr. Wassmuth examined my nose and suggested balloon sinuplasty with turbinate reduction. After much trepidation, I scheduled the surgery, which is done in-office. The process of fixing my nose didn't take all that long. The anesthesiologist, Dr. Jack Carsner, was excellent, as were all those I met in the operating room. The procedure apparently went off without a hitch, and my husband drove me home where I rested the remainder of the day. Within a day or so I was feeling much better. I am still considered to be recovering after a week, but have already experienced noticeable improvements in my breathing. My husband says my snoring was virtually gone within a day after the procedure. I've had a variety of seemingly-minor health concerns, that when put together, have led to other problems. Snoring, dry mouth, dental issues, and poor sleep quality turned out to have (at least in part) had a common root cause in breathing problems. Hopefully all will improve or resolve before very long. If you have any kind of breathing problems, including snoring and symptoms like dry mouth when you awaken, you may benefit from a visit to Dr. Wassmuth. I highly recommend his medical practice.

Dr. Slaughter has a double board certification in both Otolaryngology and Sleep Medicine, and has over 30 years of experience. He trains other ENT doctors to use his balloon technique. If you have to have deviated septum or sinus surgery, or need help with sleep apnea, I highly recommend this physician for your treatment. He helped develop a minimally invasive technique called balloon sinuplasty. I have heard many horror stories regarding recovery from people who experienced deviated septum surgery in other ENT doctor's offices. I experienced nothing but positivity yesterday. When I arrived for surgery, from the front desk staff who greeted me and checked me in, to every single person I encountered, I felt at peace. The nurses are exceptional, especially Karen, who checked on me in the recovery room, and the nurse who stayed with me after surgery (I don't remember her name). When Karen had me prepped for surgery and walked me into the surgery room, I saw the doctor, the anesthesiologist, and at least 3 nurses, standing in a simi circle around the chair, all smiling at me, as if they were the welcoming committee! It gave me such a feeling of peace, and I knew they were going to take good care of me. Every single encounter was first class and professional. My recovery so far has been excellent, with very little bleeding, no stints in my nostrils, and only mild discomfort. I am thrilled to share my experience with everyone I can so no one has to tell another horror story about their deviated septum experience. Nancy L

Dr. Slaughter said I didn't need any surgery (which was a happy surprise, one of the top docs said I did) so I didn't get the impression that they were price gouging in any shape or form (as suggested by another reviewer). In fact, the amazing benefit was Dr. Slaughter takes my insurance, so although I came from out of state, this was all in-network for me, keeping my costs way down. I'm grateful to have found him and am on my way to recovery from a debilitating situation.

Originally I went for a sinoplasty and turbinate surgery in may 2024, and it turned out to help. But the follow up was awful and I didn't get to see the doctor at any point after my first visit even tho I had a bad recovery from it and they wanted to see me for a second follow up I still didn't see Dr. Slaughter. Fast forward to yesterday. I had been experiencing vocal cord pain that wasn't strep and as a professional singer that is scary. I went in because he was my ENT before and I figured I'd go to the same one. He never once came in to see me. They told me they planned to do something where they shove a camera up my nose and into my vocal cords to check. They didnt do this but instead they put it in my mouth. The camera took a video (which I included a picture of what they showed me because they wouldn't send me any information about what was going on in my throat for some reason). After they took the video I figured that Dr slaughter would come in to detail that I had something in my throat but it was minor. Instead the PA came back in and told me I had 2 unidentifiable growths on top of my vocal cords that they needed to remove to ensure they weren't cancerous. I asked if they were just polyps (which I know can be somewhat normal) but she said no, and that they needed to remove the growths as soon as possible to check for disease aka throat cancer. So at this point I'm freaking out because I turned 35 a few days ago and having cancer at this age is horrible and abnormal. I'm also confused why Dr. slaughter wouldn't be the one to relay this very abnormal and sensitive information. They make me go to the surgery scheduler and it's like the movie where I'm just hearing ringing in my ears and agreeing with everything. I'm alone and scared and sad and traumatized all at the same time. As I'm driving home I have a revelation to get a second opinion. The video was not the best and the PA even go as deep into my throat as she could go. (Ie through my nostrils and they are already jumping to excising a tumor). I call another ENT dr. Chad whited and this office hears me loud and clear and squeezes me in same day. I go to his office and they do the scope through my nose and into my throat. He finds something called a "granuloma" which the name immediately scares me. He tells me not to worry and that it's from vocal cord overuse, and that less than 1% of them are cancerous. He also said I clearly have acid reflux (which I didn't think about it effecting my vocal cords much which seems dumb now). He says that my granuloma needs to be checked on in 2 months but until then do as much vocal rest as I can and basically to only drink water as I take some medication to get my acid reflux in check. I see the 2 dots that Dr. Slaughters PA found which are different from the granuloma, and ask what they are. Dr. Whited says oh don't worry that's mucus. It's... mucus. The "unidentifiable growth" that I had to get surgically removed to test for cancer according to Dr. slaughter... is mucus. I then find out that Dr. Slaughter pulls this type of stunt with multiple patients, overcharging them for things they don't actually need, and is only ever present on the first visit to act like he is present all the time, but he is not. Yesterday going from thinking I was dying of cancer to learning I need to take an over the counter medication and hydrate was easily one of the toughest of my life, and all could have been solved if Dr. Slaughter would have done his job with the right instruments and actually shown up for the appointment I scheduled with him. I forgot the mention they gave me a CT scan of my sinuses that I refused multiple times (because my issue was my throat) then they tried to charge me an extra 150 dollars for it. I was able to get it comped but the front office worker Destiny has the gall to tell me I can refuse anything at anytime. Dr. Slaughter psychological damage I'm trying to recover from.

Staff are pleasant in person, but phone responsiveness and follow-through are inefficient. During a recent visit to pick up a sleep machine, the phone rang multiple times at the front desk without being answered while the receptionist remained at her computer. I've raised these concerns with my doctor on two separate occasions and was told management would be notified, but there has been no noticeable improvement.

Chad Denman, DDS, and his team of sleep specialists screen, diagnose, educate, and treat snoring, sleep apnea, and other sleep disorders like insomnia. Before seeing a patient, the team of sleep specialists have them complete a health screening tool, which accurately identifies if the patient is suffering from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). OSA is disruptive and can be fatal in some circumstances. They talk to their patients about their diagnosis and treatment choices -- like continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy, oral appliance therapy, and surgery -- then decide which would make the best choice for them. If the team needs more information to diagnose their patient's sleep problems, they use the innovative home sleep testing tool WatchPAT™ One.  They also have each patient download the SnoreLab app so that the team knows when their patients stop snoring. The patient may use a pulse oximeter, so they know if oxygen levels are staying consistent when sleeping. Lastly, the team will do a second sleep study to confirm their success. Most of the care offered by the sleep specialists at Sleep Cycle Center can be done through the telehealth app and the mail, making it easier for patients to get the help they need for their sleep disorder. Blane helped me and told me a person from Nationwide, Clay would help with the new Aircurve 11. Before Clay and I set up my new Aircurve 11, I had a phone call from Sleep Medical Consultants person Bree (Breanna). I told Bree that I hadn't set up the Aircurve 11 due to the frustration with the price quote. The price quote was not adding up and to the payment method.
