How can I rate Bethany and Dream on Babies? When someone comes in your life and absolutely changes it for the best, what words of praise can I say?? Forgive the length of this review as I try. Our baby Luca was sleeping fairly well at 3 months. We had a good routine and we were getting a solid 6-7 hours a night give or take. But then the dreaded 4 month regression hit and Luca started waking up every 45 minutes. We tried to read everything online and in books- problem was one thing seemed to contradict the the next and it was impossible to match up a solution to our particulate situation. Since Luca had also started daycare around the same time, he started to get those baby viruses and, since he wasn't sleeping at daycare and not solidly at home, his recovery time from being sick was taking forever. My wife had to go back to work and we were each averaging 3-4 hours a night if we were lucky. We tried to sleep train Luca ourselves based on friends recommendations and books- we found some early success but ultimately failure. We just didn't know what we were doing and hated having Luca 'cry it out.' My relationship with my wife is a strong one but our lack of sleep and our utter frustration with giving Luca some solid rest and comfort was really wearing on us. That's when we finally decided to look for some professional help. In December we researched and found Bethany's reviews on yelp and google really impressive. We called her and she got back to us within a day to set up a consultation. Not only was she warm, funny, and extremely knowledgeable, she spend way more time with us on the phone then she was obligated as we picked her brain and she analyzed our situation. She gave her thoughts about how she could help us and detailed the pricing plans of her sleep training. She even talked us out of a more expensive plan because she felt it didn't suit us! We decided to hire her and within a few days she was at our home to assess our situation and Luca's routine. We decided we also wanted her to spend the night for 2 nights to really get the experience of her methods. What a delight and joy she is! She immediately set Luca up on a feeding schedule with exact times and amounts of milk. She persuaded us to take Luca out of our room and into his crib in the nursery. Luca was 6 months at this time and we were scared for obvious reasons - but she helped calm our fears and, while never telling us we had to do it, gave us a great argument for doing so. One of her many great traits is her flexibility and willingness to work with us and our desires for Luca. Upon spending the night, she took charge of Luca once he was bathed. She fed him and sang to him and taught us how to put him down while still awake so he could teach himself to fall asleep on his own. The first night was amazing! There was instant success. The second night was even better and we started to see a glimmering light at the end of the tunnel. But then she left and it was our turn. We used all of Bethany's tips and detailed written instructions and put out our best efforts in training Luca to sleep for naps and during the night. Long story short (too late) we stuck to it and all did amazing. By the end of the first week Luca slept 12 hours straight! We had a hiccup during Christmas when Luca got a bad cold- but that only had him waking a few times at night and he actually was able to get himself back to sleep on his own. His naps during the day were strictly timed and we stuck to her plan to a T. Everything just kept getting better and better. After a month he even started sleeping better at daycare! We knew that would be a difficulty but, as we trained our daycare workers and Luca got used to it, he got better and better. But at no time did his night time sleep faulted. After Christmas we started getting our solid TWELVE HOURS a NIGHT! To this day we put him down at 7pm and actually have our own adult time. We clean, we talk, we have dinner, then we SLEEP! Can you imagine?? He then wakes between 6-7 in the morning, bright eyed and happy. Even when his nap schedule is altered, his nighttime sleep is gangbusters. If he gets sick, he still sleeps through the night and has mastered putting himself back to sleep when he occasionally stirs. So what does this novel of a review mean? It means if you have any sort of thought about whether or not Bethany and Dream On Babies is right for you, do not waste another second thinking on it. HIRE HER. It was the best money we ever spent in our lives. Thanks again Bethany!!

Bethany saved our sanity! At 6 months our baby had never slept more than 45 minutes at a time. She approached the situation holistically and adjusted the plan based on what we were comfortable with. I sought her out because I didn't want to go for the full cry it out method but knew changes need to be made. After making some initial changes his eating schedule and then the night time changes we quickly went from countless wake ups to only one! Before long--using her skills and advice he was sleeping through the night and I felt like a human again! You read so many tips and ideas on the internet but in that sleep deprived state all my googling just left me feeling frustrated and never actually trying anything. It was so helpful to have someone come to us make an easy to understand plan, and give support. You won't regret contacting Bethany to help with your babies sleep!!

I truly appreciate Suyanara: I've learned more with her than any other provider in this motherhood journey. The insight about baby's poop has literally given my life bc I was worried sick thinking baby had diarrhea. Also thank Suyanara for sharing about her perspective on exercise - I've used exercise as my healthy outlet from stress and it's been hard when there is the pressures of the 'Cuarentena - no activity for 40 days' in the Mexican culture and my mom saying exercise would stop my milk production. I was having a meltdown not being physically active as I had been pre- and during pregnancy. I strongly recommend Suyanara. It's been so helpful to receive coaching, eduction and support

The onset of vasospasms so painful that it felt like a cigarette burning me straight through to my shoulder blade finally led me to make an appointment with My Pure Delivery. They will travel to your home for $50, not covered by insurance. The rest of the visit is covered 100% by insurance. My milk hadn't come in while I was at the hospital, and my baby's weight dropped 10.4%. We had to supplement his feedings with donor milk and Similac Neosure as he was born at 36 weeks 1 day. After we were discharged, Jenna came to our house. At the time, our baby was still mostly on formula. Jenna helped me ramp up my milk production. Initially, she suggested my husband and I take shifts so we wouldn't have to triple feed every two hours at night. I had lost so much weight following delivery, that Jenna suggested I eat an extra 500 calories per day. She taught me how to make sure my baby had a deep latch, and to pull him in closer. She also suggested I take 2 capsules of liquid gold two to three times a day. She correctly measured my flange size so we were able to order a larger size on Amazon. She taught us how to calculate how much our baby needs to be eating according to his weight. At two months and 11 lbs 1 oz, he's supposed to be eating ~110 ml per feeding. What's really been helpful is her $1000 scale. She was able to weigh our baby before and after his feeding to ascertain how much milk he ate from breastfeeding. She suggested I take him to a Pediatric chiropractor and dentist to check his neck and lip tie respectively. She taught me how to power pump to increase milk production. Our baby's weight increased from 6 to 20 percentile, compared to other babies, in the last month. I am now breastfeeding 99%. My baby only drinks ~20 ml of Kendamil goat milk every three days if I need a break or leave the house. I've stopped pumping unless I'm going to be gone for more than two hours. When I do pump, it's around 150 ml. I am Gen X and breastfeeding almost 100%. Thank you Jenna for helping me ramp up milk production!

Unfortunately, we could not obtain maximum benefit of support groups and attend all classes due to pregnancy related illness. We did, however, feel a huge value of using Austin Born, was in the communication and correspondence with our Doula, Kim Borchert. She answered many emails, texts and calls in a very open-minded and timely manner. We were referred to amazing pregnancy specialists such as chiropractors, twin trainers and also given pain relieving techniques which greatly reduce the discomfort and frustration of carrying twins. As new parents of twins with no family nearby, our postpartum Doula service was important. Austin Born was holistic in every sense and we felt that we had not only one awesome doula checking in and supporting us in our home each day but also had a team of doulas with vast experience behind the scenes. I truly felt so supported, so respected and loved during my entire experience. I transferred to Austin area birthing center around eight or nine weeks pregnant. I had received prior care with an OB/GYN and it was very impersonal. I didn't feel like she was listening to me and appointments were rushed. For years I've always told myself I wanted a natural birth but I never knew if I'd be able to do it. During my prenatal care all of my questions were answered everyone was so friendly so supportive and kind. This was my first baby and so I did a lot of research before going into labor and birth. I knew all the things that I didn't have to do and I knew all of the things that I wanted. At my 37 week appointment I asked for A cervical check even though I know I didn't necessarily need one. I was still working full-time and was experiencing some intense cramps a few days before and so I requested them to check. I was only a centimeter dilated so I figured I had time especially because it was my first baby. 38 weeks and three days at two in the morning my water broke. When I called the midwife on call she was super calm asked me how I was feeling the color of my water and if I was having contractions which I wasn't yet. She asked if I could meet her there in a few hours unless labor intensely progressed. Around 4 AM, I threw up, but I figured it was because I ate too much lasagna! Nothing I couldn't really handle, around five I called again because they were a minute apart and she met me there a few minutes later. She asked politely if she could check me to see how dilated I was but at the moment I was uncomfortable and so I denied. I had asked for a few minutes alone with my mom and my partner and they gave me the room to deal with the contractions on my own. About 15 minutes later, I told them they could check me and I was almost at 9 cm. Things progressed pretty quickly after that and I was in active labor for about five hours before my son came. The entire time they held my hand they listened to what I needed what I wanted and I was given exactly what I needed, every single minute during my entire labor. If there are any negative reviews, which I can't even understand how there could be, please read this one!!! I beg of you! I absolutely can't speak highly enough about the care I received. My son was born in a room filled with so much love and I couldn't be happier. All of my babies will be born here!! Rachel, Janae, Ellie, Betty, and Valerry. ADORE YOU. Will forever be grateful for you all over there.

I felt supported by the midwives. It was the actually delivery that was severely botched. Looking back, isn't that all that matters? I met many of the midwives during Centering and check ups. I felt like they were helpful. On the night I went into labor, I timed my contractions, called my doula. She said to call the midwife. The midwife that night was someone I had never met. Her name was Jamie. From the second I got on the phone with her, I felt belittled. She said she didn't believe I was in labor and that I should wait. She said the fact that I could talk was a clear sign it was too early. But, she said, if I insisted that I was in labor then she would meet me at the birthing center. I dilated very early & was instructed by Jamie to push, push, push. On every contraction, push, push push. For something like four hours (until very early AM), I pushed. My room started to fill up with random people. I used the ball, I used the blow up peanut, I used the bathtub, I used the stool. In a cycle, one at time, I used each thing. Then, once I'd tried them all, I circled back around and tried them all again. Never resting. Just pushing. At some point in the early AM hours, Jamie's shift was over -- so she left! She simply walked in the room, and said "My shift is over and a new midwife will be here shortly". Erin, the new midwife showed up. I knew her and I liked her. However, her guidance simply started over from the exact same beginning place that Jamie had started from. On every contraction, push, push push. For something like four MORE hours. All over again, I used the ball, I used the blow up peanut, I used the bathtub, I used the stool. One at time, I used each thing then circled back around and tried them all again. Never resting. Just pushing. Some time the next morning, I said stop. I cannot go on. I'm dying. Call 911. "You're so close!!" They said, "Keep pushing". So, several hours later, some time around 1pm, I passed the point of exhaustion and was on the brink of insanity. I slid off the bed, onto the floor, onto my knees screaming. I prayed. I begged God, what do I do? I am dying. So, I asked the midwife, "Is the baby coming? Is she going to come out any second now?" "Oh no! No way. Not at all. We don't even see her head." The midwife said. It almost seemed like she thought the question was cute. Now, I have never given birth before and I've never been at a birth before. My experience is limited. But I knew enough to know, that was not right. That was not right! There is no reasonable medical professional, midwife or person who would instruct someone to push that hard and that long with ZERO progress. "Call 911" I demanded. "We're so close!" The midwife pleaded. "You wanted a natural birth so bad, we're so close. It will be at least an hour before you get any medication at all if you go to the hospital". "It's not the medication I want, it's my life. I'm done. I can't go on." I had pushed, in active labor, for 8 hours. Seven hours after the ambulance came and 2 additional hours of active labor, my healthy, beautiful baby girl was born. The hospital staff was incredible. They were disgusted that these midwives allowed me to push for that long and that hard with little progress. Turns out, my daughter was posterior. It took the doctor 5 seconds to determine this. How did the midwives miss this? Just keep pushing, they said! The blood vessels in my entire face were completely blown out. I looked like I had been in a boxing match. ABC was a complete shitshow. After being at the hospital and receiving the level of professionalism they offered there, this group of midwives felt like a room full of middle school girls playing "let's birth a baby". By the time I told them to call 911, my birthing room was full of 7+ people all trying to "help". I'm not saying you need to go to the hospital, but don't go here. And yes, we still had to pay 100%.

There are a few things that set this program apart from others I have seen. 1 - The mentorship provided by the owner of the company, Allison Coleman. The unrelenting support she gives and the way she lifts people up are unique and refreshing. 2 - The comprehensive material covered. This program provides a wide range of information and produces postpartum doulas that not only understand how to care for families in the postpartum period, but also the ethics of running a business in this industry. 3 - The way the materials are presented is clear and thorough. I appreciate the mix of video education and reading so it keeps the participants engaged in the program. I highly recommend ABG Postpartum Doula Training to anyone looking to enhance their understanding of all things postpartum doula!

At first I thought this was going to be such a luxury service, but I quickly realized that Allison was going to be an absolute vital piece to my mental, emotional, physical and spiritual postpartum health. She worked with us for the first 8 weeks of my daughters life and I seriously wouldn't be where I am without her! She provided an invaluable amount of knowledge and experience and was a non-judgmental soundboard for me. I can't recommend Allison enough! I now truly believe Postpartum Doulas are a necessity, not just a luxury.

Where to begin?! We moved to Austin from Arizona, and within about six months of being here, got…read morepregnant with our second child. We had an amazing home birth team in Phoenix, so our expectations were really high for the type of care and knowledge we wanted in our Midwife. Being new to Austin meant we didn't have a large network of people to ask for references, so I researched online, read reviews and looked through credentials. I knew very quickly I wanted to work with Christy and Jenni. I had an extremely difficult pregnancy, although I was also sick the entirety of my first as well. I had hyperemesis gravidarum, meaning I was throwing up constantly, losing weight, and unable to keep down hardly anything. Christy has a huge wealth of knowledge and practices functional medicine alongside traditional options. I was always given information of references for alternative therapies to help my nausea. They were always helping me manage my sickness and we worked closely with a perinatal MD for any tests or services Christy couldn't provide herself. I had incredible care throughout my pregnancy and can't stress enough how great a resource Christy was for every ailment. Our birth experience was awesome! It only lasted an hour and a half (sooo fast!) but it was in the middle of the night with a birth tub. Our baby was born in a state of shock, partially because of how quickly everything progressed, and had a little trouble breathing. Christy knew what to do immediately and got her breathing and feeding perfectly in no time. The postpartum care we received was incredible. I had pelvic floor issues and our baby had some skin issues and Christy and Jenni were always available to answer questions and connect us with a provider that could help if it was outside their realm. Truly, we can't say enough about our experience and this team of women! They are wonderful and you and your baby will be in great hands.

Finding Jenni and Christy was like winning the lottery. I literally can't put into words how…read moreamazing these two women are...and how positively they have impacted my (and my family's) life. They are just. The best. Jenni and Christy helped my wife and I through two births, and unfortunately a few miscarriages. We first met them while interviewing for a midwife back in 2015. We interviewed a few other people around town, but instantly clicked with Jenni and Christy. They are warm, responsive, realistic and the best part - they really care about you, your pregnancy and your experience. Our meetings were sometimes long - filled with laughter in addition to medical explanations of my changing body. They took a few minutes each time to do the medical stuff, blood pressure/pee test/feel for baby...but then, the rest of the time they just wanted to know how I was feeling. I miss them. When my birth came around, Jenni was my rock. She is kind and gentle - her presence during the chaos of birth was invaluable. She kept me calm, centered and most of all, feeling safe through 8 hours of active labor and a 3 hours of pushing. My kiddo didn't want to come out, but they literally pulled out a bag of tricks: peanut yoga balls, weird positions, ropes to pull on and things to rest my legs on. They kept my spirits up, even when in those moments of wanting to give up. And, with their help I birthed a healthy little girl in the comfort of my home. It was amazing. Women are amazing. Now I'm crying. I can't recommend these MotherBloom midwifery enough. They taught me about the power of being a woman - and I know that I am a better mother because of my experience with them as my midwives. They really are, the best. I heart them so much!
