I have bought two vehicles from Strong Auto dealership over years and they been great

This place used to be a nice place . But it has gone downhill . Jackie Strong called me a Liar basically. Their Service Manager is rude . He would NOT make an appointment for me after I asked him 3-4 Times and kept Telling me to bring my vehicle back when the engine light came back on because it would be a 7 hour job ! So my engine light is back on and as if yesterday and me going out Of Town Saturday they have highly put Me in a bad place . And the bad part is ... they do not care . When I tried to discuss it with Jackie Strong she twisted my words and said "I've heard different stories ... well I tell nothing but the truth . Do not go here . They are rude, obnoxious and call you a liar . I tell the truth ! They do not !!!! read more

If I could rate a minus one I would. The only reason they are getting a one is because there is nothing lower to choose from. I drove a couple hundred miles round trip to purchase a vehicle. It was a terrible experience and would never recommend them to anyone. Please take my advice and go elsewhere. read more

I'll never buy a car from there again. Long story short, they sold me an unsafe vehicle. I made the mistake of not getting on the interstate during my test drive, due to snow and ice on the roads. I just kept it on local roads, not going over 45 mph or so. After I bought the vehicle and had some dinner at a close restaurant, I pulled onto I75 and immediately heard a loud noise coming from the rear wheels. I could barely hear the radio after getting to 65 or 70 mph. Of course by now they were closed. I called first thing the next morning, and when I brought it in to have them check it out, they showed me how there were sever flat spots on the rear tires, causing the noise. Did they do the right thing and replace the two bad tires? Of course not. They offered to sell me some tires. You KNOW they had to know about the tires before they sold it to me. They just didn't care to fix a major problem before they put it on their lot. I HOPE I DON'T HAVE A BLOWOUT at 75 mph before I can afford new tires. I gave two stars instead of one because there was nothing wrong with my salesperson, Steve. He was fine. But management made the WRONG call, and lost a customer for life. read more

This business will let you THINK they will work with you in finding a good deal that benefits both your needs and theirs. However, the story changes when you show up at the dealership. We made an offer online for a vehicle; was told multiple times yes, we can work out a deal here, just come in. Upon arriving however the owner is completely unwilling to negotiate ANYTHING except sticker price for the used vehicle. Once you test drive a vehicle, you get totally passed off to the owner - NOT the salesperson you started out working with. He is very rigid when it comes to pricing and you will waste your time if you think you're going to negotiate. It is THEIR price or NOTHING; won't even move down $500-1000 off sticker price. Red flag to me as they are not clearly customer oriented in the least. Will not return and would not recommend. read more

Totally sold us a lemon. Would not give us a warranty. Talked about how the truck was in perfect condition. Less than 24 hour after we left the engine light came on. They refused to help. $3,500 later we are still pumping money into it. They lie and we would never recommend them to anyone. read more

Bought a truck here August 2023, payed $800 extra to have the radio replaced because it was flashing. 3 weeks later came in to have it done and the new one does the same, told them I'll just take the cash and fix it myself or something. They said they can only give me $250 back because that's what the radio cost, when they charged me $800. Well, it's now Christmas and I still haven't seen a dime. Call every week and empty promises, I live 2 hours away or I would show up everyday. Anyway, Gary with strong auto will lie right through his teeth and steal your money then ghost you. read more

One star.....Because I cant give a lower review. Bought a used car with a bad ignition. I should have know something was up. When I showed up and the car I called about was waiting for me running. Bought the car for my daughter. The whole time Ransom the sales man (that shouldve tipped me off) was talking about family. She goes to drive away and it wont turn over. I think its just the wheel lock. Then it works. 45 minutes later shes stuck getting gas. I call RANSOM and he says bring it in. We pay $300 for their service dept to fix it. Fine I get it a used car as is. it locked up yesterday. So I called them. They dont guarantee their work. I mean what. Its been 4 months. So stay away this place be shady AF. And stay away from RANSOM at all costs. read more

Mark, Kris, and their team got me in the truck I liked without hassle and I couldn't be happier. It is also very convenient to have a service department also at the lot so they can do regular maintenance without taking it to a manufacturer dealership and deal with that hassle. Giving 2 stars because of how quickly they were able to get back to me and schedule some time to look at one of their vehicles. However ... the other shoe has dropped multiple times... First, they will conveniently let you walk out without actually asking for the down payment, then call you like a collections agency the following month. Add to that buying a nice car that in its first 6 months with minimal miles has needed new tires and now brakes and rotors. That's a 10% premium on their asking price and something they should have disclosed (regarding the brakes). And they were unwilling to either reduce the price or put on new tires. Shady. read more

I did not purchase my vehicle here but I took my 2013 Ford Focus to get the check engine light checked. I called Glenn Ford first and their diagnostic fee was $125 so I called Strong Auto where their fee was $75. I got in on Saturday and was greeted warmly by the co-ownerJackie Strong. What I like about this shop is that it's family owned and operated. Jackie waived my diagnostic fee when I promised to get my repair done there. My car had a broken O-2 sensor and after an hour I was on my way. Typically, dealerships can be a lousy experience but I was pleasantly surprised by my first visit here. Kris Woolum is the co owner/manager and always provides friendly, trustworthy, and prompt service. My mother still lives in Kentucky and only gets her car serviced at Strong Auto. Do not buy from these thieves!!! They took a 500.00 deposit from my -8 yr old daughter to hold a car for us to look at saying if it wasn't what they said when we got there would be full refunded. They forgot to mention the bad scratches all over the car, the inside bubbling up and the door would have to be sanded completely down and painted. The salesman said I quote i told the owner it should be refunded that is what I told them. Please do check CARFAX report when you buy car from Strong Auto. Do not trust AutoCheck. They will show you a Fake AutoCheck report which does not show correct car history or any accidents in the past. After i brought my Honda last year and now when i am trying to re-sell it i am finding through CarFax and other car dealers in town that my car was in accident ( left front, left rear, front, rear), painted everywhere, replaced doors all happened before i brought it from Strong Auto. When i brought it last year, Strong Auto showed me a fake AutoCheck report which did not show any of these accidents. I regret buying my car from them and i feel i should have checked CarFax report before i brought it. Now, because of accident history i am not able to get correct re-sale price and basically will have to loose money and sell it. Never going back to Strong Auto again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Inquired on a vehicle I seen on their website yesterday, while I was on the road back to Lexington, someone reached out to get my Information & I began the process in buying this vehicle giving all of my information to the manager skipper. my credit was run. I was promised a phone call this morning to complete the process. A phone call that never came. i Was on my way to the dealer & my dad made it there first. as he is there speaking to a salesman someone shows up & purchased the vehicle I was in process for. I don't understand how they could do business this way. Im upset that there is no sense of loyal to a customer. I will not be doing business with strong auto in the future. read more

I went to Strong Auto upon the recommendation of my colleague Paula A. She is a great person, & I needed to replace my aged beloved BMW, anyway, after contacting a salesperson via text, I had several communications with them before I made it to the lot. I searched their vehicles on the website. Found a lovely crossover. Big Al was my checkered flag! I was in and out in less than 4 hours! All of the staff were kind, helpful, the only reason they don't get 5 stars is because Ms P. Aldelfio didn't get her 100$ for recommending them, perhaps a small oversight. Got a great deal until I went to the BMV today to put tags on the truck. It was then I discovered that Strong Auto has radically miscalculated the sales tax bill to the tune of $1,687.50 and that they would expect me to pay the full amount. Bottom line: I would not have done the deal if I knew this was the case. Strong Auto screwed up, they have admitted to it and have apologized. But sorry doesn't pay the tax bill. Please send me a check for the full amount owed. "These things can go either way..." What does that even mean? This isn't a coin toss or the Ohio Lottery, this is a car deal and a tax bill. NO STARS!!!! Strong Auto sells vehicles that are NOT RELIABLE!! They sold an SUV that they knew would be used to transport a new infant and then several engine warning codes came on before even getting the vehicle home after purchase. They refused to stand behind the vehicle in any way!! They offered to take the vehicle back in trade but would NOT allow the next vehicle to be inspected by an independent mechanic . . . a huge red flag!!!! Found a truck online and negotiated the deal. Drove 6 hours to come purchase the truck after being assured it was in excellent condition. When I found out one of the two rear DVD players wasn't working I was told they were selling the vehicle as-is and they wouldn't repair it. Thinking they had me, because I drove 6 hours to get there, they just didn't care. When I saw the automatic running boards weren't working, I simply hopped back in my car and drove 6 hours home. I purchased my 2018 Chevy Tahoe from Strong Auto in June of 2019. Since then I have had 3 incidents where my truck has had issues and I've had to bring it back to Strong Auto or to my local Chevy dealer Big M. My biggest issue with Strong is that they are not people of their word. I have sent 5 friends to strong to purchase vehicles (which is 1.5 hours from where we live) and will NOT send another. On Sept 26, 2019 (3 months after purchasing my Tahoe) the starter went out. When I purchased the truck I bought the best extended warranty that the company offered with the lowest deductible. So when my starter went out my truck was towed to Big M where they charged me $150 over the deductible that I was originally quoted upon purchasing the warranty. I contacted the finance manager then and he was very apologetic and indicated that he would get it squared away then. He also sent me a check for the difference of what I was quoted. A few weeks ago my check engine light came on and the truck started moving about 5 miles an hour so I went to Advance Auto they read the code and told me that I needed to take my truck in. I called our local Chevy Dealer who couldn't get the truck in until the next week, as mentioned before Strong Auto is 1.5 hours from us, so I took it to Honda who also read the same code and advised I take it back to Chevy. Chevy did end up checking my truck but couldn't read the code because it had reset itself. I asked them again how much my deductible was and they said the same as the last time. I called Strong Auto again, explained that they had NOT fixed my deductible again like they said almost a year ago. They assured me that they called in and fixed it. Big M advised me to bring it back to the shop as soon as the code came back on, which I did today. Big M found the problem, called in the repairs to the warranty company and fixed everything. So as I'm getting ready to pay for my truck they tell me that the deductible still has not been fixed. This is absolutely unacceptable. So I'm told the the person is spoke with the first time is with a customer and that they would be sure to give him a message to call me back, I let them know that Big M was about to close in 10 minutes, they said he would call me back asap.... Meanwhile I'm standing in the lobby of BIG M and they have called the warranty company several times and explained the situation, the warranty company advised there was NOTHING they could do for me until the dealer called. I call Strong Auto back and I'm told that the finance guy is away from his desk that he is out to lunch. I'm about to GO OFF. Then the woman who I spoke to Jackie Strong was rude as hell. She basically wouldn't let me get a word in, while telling its someone else's fault, and that since I filed the claim two weeks ago, that is why they can't give me the price they quoted me when I bought the truck, that I takes 30 days to process. I explained that I bought the truck over a year ago and that NO claim was filed when I brought my truck in the 1st time for this issue. So she gets fed up with me as I tell her that I am trying to explain what's going on and says "I'll just put you on the phone with someone else". **Jackie Strong** is one of the owners. She placed me on the phone with her husband Mark Strong who told me to send him the receipt and that he would reimburse me the $150 over what I was suppose to pay. What if I didn't have the additional $150 to pay the deductible on top of what I already owed. I just know that since Strong Auto wants to give me the run around and put me on the phone with someone else, I will ensure to purchase and tell me friends to purchase their vehicles from somewhere else, where the customer service is better. read more

We purchased a vehicle from Strong Auto. We were excited until driving it for the first time. Parts fell off the side of the vehicle as we were driving. I contacted them and sent them a picture. I was sent a text message (not even a phone call) that they were not responsible for the car once it left their lot. Clearly this was a wrecked vehicle that they sold as not wrecked. We will be looking for another vehicle soon, but will NEVER go with Strong Auto. It cost us $365 to fix the vehicle we purchased from Strong Auto. They are not trustworthy!!! read more

This was the 4th or 5th dealership I visited in search of a Nissan Pathfinder. We drove by on a Sunday and were greeted by a salesman, Big Al, even though they were closed. We exchanged numbers since we were coming back the following day. He texted Monday to see if we wanted to set aside a specific time, but we were unsure of what time we'd actually make it. After driving two, we decided to purchase the latter. The negotiation process was smooth and surprisingly friendly. I never felt uncomfortable (which usually happens). We got the vehicle for what we were comfortable paying. What really sealed the deal for me was that Al said if something happens we get on the road and the alignment feels off to give him a call and he'd take care of it. Of course, this happened... and even though we signed a form saying nothing promised... Al set me up with an appt this Friday to get my car aligned AND replace the battery in my smartkey. We have had nothing but problems with the 2016 Yukon Denali that we purchased from Strong Auto. We were assured this vehicle had been thoroughly inspected and serviced, but not long after we purchased it the rear breaks literally fell off. We later learned that the bolts were not tightened properly when the mechanic at Strong Auto worked on the brakes. Luckily no one was hurt as a result of the gross negligence of the mechanic. The "thoroughly inspected and serviced" vehicle also needed front struts ($1,600) and tires ($1,200) when it was sold to us, and we have had issues with the A/C and transmission within the first few months of owning it. The Yukon is now at the GMC dealership with engine problem. We were ripped off by Strong Auto and would advise other to not do business with this dealership. read more

Took our van into the service department (Didn't purchase the van there) and got the front and rear brakes replaced and the rotors turned (resurfaced) plus both engine and cabin air filters replaced. Way better priced than dealership and other service departments. Very professional and polite (Justin-service director) and were very appreciative for the business. Didn't feel like they were trying to rip us off. They do all types of service and oil changes. Will be returning in the future with all our other vehicles. Highly recommend this place if your vehicle needs service. read more

Just purchased a ford escape couple weeks ago, salesman was Matt. He told me all that the service dept had done to the vehicle, tires, battery, etc during test drive. I made what I think was a very good deal, after a little give and take, only in office about 30 minutes. All depended on my mechanic checking out the car on Monday, which the salesman took to my mechanic and all they could find wrong was the rear gate wiper needed replacing, which the dealer completed prior to my picking up the car. Was just about one of the best car buying experience's I've ever had........... read more

I will NEVER be back to this dealership. I really liked our salesman, but the person behind the paperwork lied to me and I do not appreciate anyone lying to me. He said we could sign a promissory note for the amount we wanted to put down and then said I needed to write a check - dated that day - assuring me he would hold the check until my check to cover it would be deposited - he lied. It was put in five days before he could have safely put it in. I won't be back to do business with this company again. Sadly, I did not read the reviews before going here, but I wish I had read Kelley A.'s review, I would have been more skeptical. They had a vehicle I was interested in. I called and spoke with Brandon to confirm availability. He said they still have the vehicle and he confirmed the advertised price. When I got there he was busy with another customer so another salesman came to assist me. I don't know his name as he didn't introduce himself, but he was very nice. I drove the car and wanted to buy it. I had a trade in. When he came back with the price I had sticker shock, as it was much more than the list price and this included my trade in. When I asked about it he said these are fees "this is how we make our money". I expected to pay taxes and transfer so I had an idea of what I could expect to pay, but not these ridiculous fees. I was told dealerships add these fees. These fees should already be added to the price of the vehicle so a buyer knows what to expect. I feel this is poor customer service. I decided not to buy the car, but was being pressured to buy. The owner walked with me to the exit still wanting me to buy the vehicle. The last thing he asked me was "does your wife know you're looking to buy a car"? What business is it of his. I felt like he was belittling me because I didn't buy a vehicle from him. So guys you may want to make sure your wife knows you're looking to buy a vehicle because you may very well be asked. read more

Bought a Mazda 3 from them two days ago. This was my best car buying experience to date. Found them and the car online at places like Cars/autotrader, their car was easily the best deal in the area when you take into account it's value, miles, year, etc... And they recommend you use Car Guru, which shows the kind of value you are getting. Gave me the carfax and car's history, so I could buy with confidence. They checked my car to make sure it was in great shape. They were impressively, not pushy at all. Had free pizza, where showing star wars while I was there. My sales guy Mike Chisley was fantastic, very informative and friendly. The car was already a great deal, but knowing me, I always try to get a better one, and they were friendly and respectful in negotiating with me, and I was able to get to a price, I was very happy paying for the car. They've only been open since July 1st 2016, the three owners, who were all there and readily available if a customer needed them, come from big dealer experience. But they'd rather not have a big marketing budget and just sell cars at incredible values. While I didn't trade in a car, I feel they would give you a good price for one, and their service center seems terrific as well. Would very happily buy a car from them again. read more

Nice people, but you aren't at a used car dealership to make friends. Came home after buying, had some misgivings and looked it up - found out I was sold a car that was a rental. No biggie except for the fact that I told my sales rep Jackie Allen that I wouldn't buy a rental. Then he showed me this one. The used car salesman got me. He got his sale. I didn't check it's history while at the dealership on my phone before buying. Ouch. And...it had been in an accident. And...it came with only one key fob after we made the deal (expensive). I had plenty of opportunities to walk before writing my check, but I didn't. Recommendation for anyone reading this? Do not part with your money UNTIL you do your due-diligence - especially if you really want the car. You're not making friends - you are spending a very large amount of money and dealing with people you just met and do not know. Be courteous - be smart - and usually walk away. Everyone was nice and the place looks great and I hope that the car works for many years to come, but I obviously don't feel great about it. Hope this helped you. read more
