Service Dept - I contacted them 9 days ago, looking for a regular shop for all my Sierra maintenance and I am religious about maintenance. They kept saying Service Dept would get back to me. I sent two more gentle reminders over 9 days and received polite responses, but was never contacted by Service. Finally, I moved on. They lost a customer - I can't trust a provider this sloppy with basic call-backs for new business. read more

Bought a 2022 Silverado with 69k mile. Took it in for an oil change and another dealer. Was advised of an oil leak and engine noise. I took the truck back to Sutherland and they ASK me what the noise was. Im pretty sure its a lifter pecking. I paid the $ 500 deductible and they didn't fix it at all. Put a pully and belt on the truck instead of finding the problem. Ive been very patient and respectful in my talks with these people. Starting to wish i had went somewhere else. I hope they will do the right thing and fix my truck before my sons graduation in New Jersey or ill have to miss it. I would hope these people are the honest folks they claim to be. I bought a Buick Enclave from Sutherland and I have to honestly say, it was the best car buying experience I have EVER had. I have been buying cars for 45 years and never had such a great experience. The sales guy Alex, was great and bent over backwards to accommodate. The dealership manager was fantastic, and made sure I got the best deal and gave me a nice tax break. No hidden fees and a bunch of add- on's, didn't try to sell me a lot of extras or BS costs. The finance dept. guy went above and beyond also. He got me an interest rate that was below what I had wanted and they gave me exactly what I wanted for my trade in. The owner of the dealership even came out of his office to shake my hand and thank me for buying a vehicle from Sutherland. He was gracious, very kind and genuine. We drove over 3 hours to see a used vehicle listed for sale. Worked with the Internet Manager, Matt, and with the salesman, Jared. Both very kind and helpful. Sent a video on UTube with a walk around and continued to communicate with us about the vehicle. Stated that the vehicle looked great! Soooo disappointed and disheartening to know this vehicle had dings on the hood, imperfections everywhere. Obviously, they need to get their eyes examined especially when looking at a almost $40,000 car. Be cautious and aware going the distance to look at a vehicle. read more

I financed a vehicle through this company in June 2023. Not only was the financing out the roof(nearly $7000 in finance charges), but the service wasn't what I expected either. Soon after, I had issues with my vehicle being super loud. Took it a local shop because I'm not familiar with Nicholasville or live nearby, and I had a cracked exhaust manifold. $900 later it was fixed. After this, I had to spend another 400 dollars because my engine went into limp mode to replace my mass air flow sensor and camshaft sensor. Not even a month or two later, I had to fix my catalytic converter and flex hose pipe($1500). 2-3 days later, my starter went out($430). Had it going for a short period of time after, when load and behold it has to go back to the shop. This time, intake manifold/gasket($200). This is when I was told my timing chain was going bad as well. In the process of trying to find someone to get it in and fixed, it dies on me in the middle of the road at a light, with my kids in the car and highway full of traffic. Had to have the firetrucks push it out of the way and towed. Timing chain was the answer. When I talked to the shop that it was towed too, they said my best bet would be to replace the motor, because issues would continue if I just replaced my timing chain. So after my vehicle being in the shop for 2 months and $3100 later, the motor was replaced. Had the car running from March 14, 2025 to April 1st, when it started having even more issues. The vehicle was sluggish, especially going up hill, even the slightest incline of a hill was merely impossible. Theres a rattle now, and when I turn left or right it makes an awful noise. Not only that, my brake light and turning light quit working, on top of cellular data antenna, and window motor, but no other codes are showing. My rpms stay between 3-4 at 57 miles per hour, and sometimes it doesnt go into gear, or is hesitant to go into gear. The vehicle also has like a scooting sensation while driving. I spoke to the owner, Don who said he would try to get me out of it. It was a lie too. I have spent 6000 dollars in less than 2 years of having this vehicle from them, and it still doesnt run like a vehicle should. I cant even have my kids in it, for fear of them getting hurt. ​You would think making a $331 car note a month, and 6 different things have went wrong with the vehicle, I could do something about it. IF ANYONE CAN POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION OR TO A GOOD LAWYER, WOULD BE GREAT! I can't even drive the vehicle long enough before it has to be in the shop again. It stresses me out getting it out on the road at any given moment, because it's always something with it that goes out. I will never recommend these guys, and if I could I wouldnt even give it a rating of 1. It would be like negative rating. They only care about getting their commision from selling a vehicle, than worrying about the average person, sinking in 6000 dollars to vehicle they sold to them, with a supposedly well maintained car fax sheet of paper, to get it out of their way. It drains your bank account when you spend that much money on vehicle and can't even drive it. read more

We experienced problems with our truck while vacationing in the area and was told by the Chevy dealership in Danville KY that they couldn't even look at it for two weeks We called Sutherland and was told by Chris to bring it in and that they would fit us in that same day! Our transmission went out on 75 in Berea Ky on a Sunday . We had the truck towed to the nearest Chevy Dealer which was Jack Burford. I called Monday morning to explain we were 600 miles from home and really need help . They told us they were booked 8-10 weeks on transmission work . ( that's another review) I called Southerland Chevy and talked to Chris in the service dept. He said get it towed over and he would fix it . It was towed Monday morning and repaired by Tuesday afternoon. Chris had someone drive the 30 miles and pick me up so I could get my truck back . Those are the type of people you buy a truck from , not the ones who say sorry we can't help you. read more

The only reason I'm giving this place even two stars is because our sales guy Kevin was outstanding. Matt Moore... his manager, is simply a jerk. We were interested in purchasing a used vehicle from them and gave an offer on Saturday (manager wasn't there so we couldnt talk to them - they closed early, no big deal!). They came back at us with an offer that was at minimum $1,000 less than other lots on our trade evaulation and when I called back to offer an extra $500 down and to try and work out the deal on our end offering them more money out of pocket, he cut me off mid sentence, half appolgized for it and then acted as if it was an imposition to even have the phone conversation with me. I'm in business and typically I am on the receiving end of these types of reviews and in marketing daily. Even if you can't make a deal, it's not that hard to listen and have a cordial conversation with your customer. We were $1500 apart and couldn't make a deal. I can't say enough great things about Kevin but as a manager you should be the example to your team, not the other way around. This is KY. Kindess and courtesy goes a long way and it's simple business courtesy that is important to customers. Kevin was that exemplified to a fault, but you can't work with the manager. What he didn't wait long enough to hear me say before I was literally cut off mid sentence is that I was interested in the other vehicle they had marked $1,000 cheaper as well but after that start, I'll take my business elsewhere and recommend you do the same. There's a reason Dan Cummins is the volume dealer. If you have that little margin in vehicles, you've paid too much for them (in this case, it was bought at auction). Also, asking price was well over 2k over blue book market price on the vehicle. Buy the end of this two minute phone conversation (yes, literally) and the only time we got to speak to the manager, they claimed they were making $54. Sure. If that's true you paid too much for the vehicle but at least hear out your customer and we can both say, we tried but we can't make a deal and walk away feeling good about the experience. Everybody has bad days but it's not hard to listen. I know I was looking at a Ford on a Chevrolet lot, but if you're considering a Ford, go see Bob Kain and the team at Kain Ford for a great experience. Awesome guy. Night and day compared to this. Outstanding customer service from the Service Dept. Craig, Chris, and techs were great to work with and were very courteous. They went the extra mile resolving the turbo under boost issue on my daughter's Sonic this past semester. We live 2hrs away but they took care of us like were long time customers. Okay so, off the review from yesterday, the guy, Chris, called me and said that the Vibe parts were in and that they could fix it today. This totally nullifies almost everything negative said in the last review. I drove it there, called for Chris, he came out and my car was fixed in under 41 minutes. Last Friday he had said it would have taken at least an hour and a half to two hours. I stand by the fact that they went above and beyond (hopefully, they did a good job lol). Anywho, I would have given them an average from 2 star + 4 star = 3 star; however, Chris's awareness and service saved this dealership. If anyone goes here for service, ask Chris. You can be rest assured that if you get something fixed, he will most likely do it quicker than anyone else. George scared the living crap out of me when he said "getting the recall parts was a process and you have to wait until next Wednesday." Phew...if you could not fix it the first time, make sure to always give that customer a priority for a sooner appointment. read more

Sutherland Chevrolet refused to give me the written report on my vehicle when I asked for it. My vehicle broke down Wednesday. Towed to Sutherland Chevrolet after being told the engine failure was due to parts covered by an extended service warranty. Told on Thursday it would be fixed by Friday. Told Friday afternoon the engine failure was due to a faulty repair done by a mechanic months ago and to take it up with them, Chevy would not be repairing it. Came in to get my valuables out of my car and get a copy of the report. I spoke with the service manager, Brent. He told me he was aware of the situation, although we had never spoken before. Service Manager Brent was rude, dismissive, and extremely disrespectful to both me and my mother, who also tried to ask questions about the issue. Brent was raising his voice, interrupting us, talking over us. Complained that he "wouldn't get back the 8 hours he spent taking apart my engine," said Chevy wasn't going to pay him for that time. Brent refused to give me the written report on my vehicle. He told me he was too busy to get around to it at all today because "30 other people are in here to get their cars fixed and I'm the only one here." When I asked Brent for a manager, he said "I'm it." Asked two other employees if there was another manager I could talk to and they all directed me back to Brent. I asked for the written report one last time before leaving, Brent now claimed he didn't know details of the situation and refused to print out the report "in case it wasn't right." He continued to be rude with a raised voice to me and my mother while three other employees (and only one customer) stood and watched. read more
