They were very helpful and went out of their way to make the experience painless. Not only did they drive to another location to get us a replacement for the faulty tire, but they also got us two new used tires, and replaced the back two tires to make sure we were safe for our trip back. We'd recommend them in a heartbeat! They already had great prices, and on top of that, gave us a veteran discount, AND were professional and friendly AND quick - an overall great experience!

So my mother and myself came here for 2 vehicles, each had worn threads, and we needed to have them replaced. Ish had no issues opening the shop after he closed early (I guess for no business), and had apparently come all the way from Lexington. Props to him. The tires were replaced, no big deal there, pretty standard, and the car was actually driving better than before, so perfect. I believe even came time to balance the tires. My moms process had the same treatment. Then the chaos begins. Ish steps out of his boundaries to say "your wheel bearing is shot, we need to replace it." I knew, as my girlfriends father looked at my car. He was able to shake the wheel a little and told me the same thing. Something in me told me that Ish was not the guy for this, but where he charged 90$ for labor and the parts were to be found elsewhere, I had to buy into it. So we took the deal and proceeded forward. Pretty fire. Few days past, our parts are in, and Ish even extends the hand to say "hey, we'll put new lugs and studs on your car, you're missing some." My dude, that's so fire, let's do it. So not Ish, but a "mechanic" of his worked on my car, all seemed well until after the repair. Where the ABS was throwing an error on the dashboard, I felt extremely upset. Immediately, and with my lack of mechanical experience as I've only taken an auto class in high school, go eagles, I knew the ABS was probably disconnected, but I follow a great "you break it, you fix it." Which, in this beautiful example, I did not. So Ish knew he messed me up and referred me over to a friend in Lexington. Luckily, I was in the area and the buddy he referred me to was close by. His buddy found that the ABS was in fact disconnected and simply reconnected it. I also found that the original issue was the front motor mount that was making the sound that the wheel bearing was supposed to fix, but I wanted to ignore it, and think it was something less. But oh well! But the fun doesn't stop there, boys. My mom owns a Subaru, the one to be the safest in the market. After finding the ABS was throwing errors, I warned her not to get her brakes replaced by Ish, but she continues anyways. Momma knows best? (Love you mom, don't hurt me.) but then guess.. what? The "safest vehicle on the market" no longer has my mom feeling so safe because the car now shakes at 75 mph! Cool right? Unfortunately not because again, she doesn't feel safe, so again, Come for tires! Leave for service. :) Update: So Ish, such a kind gentleman. Offered to refund me my money to remove the Yelp review! Isn't that great? I think it's also called a bribe, so I'm glad to know a local business owner is willing to take shortcuts to make his business look good. Also your photos aren't real. If you need help taking pictures of your shop, I'll be more than happy to take photos for you. My iPhone X has a great camera, I hear.

I recently received excellent service from Gates Nissan and especially from Kathy in the Service department. When visiting family in Kentucky (I live in Maryland), my Nissan Altima hybrid suddenly displayed one of the dreaded warning symbols, indicating to stop driving immediately and contact nearest Nissan dealer. Gates Nissan was not the nearest to my location but they were the friendliest and most helpful in getting my car in to be checked out (despite their very busy schedule), part ordered, car repaired and back on the road for our 500 mile trip back to Maryland. Kathy in the Service department was exceptional in working with us and keeping us informed of the status of repairs. Every employee we encountered was friendly and genuine which meant so much to us as we were worried about the safety of our long drive home. They were great!! read more

He was very energetic and informative. So since my husband was at work in Lexington I couldn't show him the vehicle so they said no prob! Here take it to him and let him see it and drive it and see what he thinks! So we took it and let him see it but he wasn't able to drive it much. But he said Tuesday we will come back and also have it inspected just to cover all our bases. So Tuesday comes and we were unable to get it inspected and Kim and Patrick were both great and patient with us. I felt so bad breaking an appointment after they had put it on hold for us on the lot. So Wednesday they took it to Toyota for us who my moms friend was going to look at it for us up there. We have been super picky and annoying through this whole thing I know we have but we had to just make sure. They also gave us the previous owners info so we could ask questions about some things. They were nothing but extremely helpful and accommodating to us. And today we finally came in and Kim took care of us. Even let us speak to service and got us the notes from the inspection Honda did themselves and the notes from the mechanic and the service they recommended which they had taken care of already. So we feel extremely confident in the quality of vehicle we bought. I am 9 months pregnant and forgot to bring snacks and I had a huge sugar crash and Kim was kind enough to get me some snacks and sweets to bring it back up. I would recommend gates Honda for anyone looking for a used vehicle. They won't sell you crap. They definitely take pride in making sure you leave in a great vehicle. Thanks guys so much for putting up with all of our questions and making this such a great experience.

Was told by Bill after a year they would refinance for a cheaper interest rate if we made the payments on time. Well folks a year is up and now they are telling us that our credit score must be over a certain amount before they can refinance. When I thought about trad the vehicle I was told after a year of never late payments that we are so far upside down in the vehicle I would at least have to pay 10,000 up front if not more. I get a little money made but these people are absolutely ridiculous. now I'm stuck with a ridiculous high paymen for the next five years! they frigging lied like hell! And second, Victoria and a young man in the service were extremely helpful. In fact, they were fantastic! Their focus was on resolving my problem, no matter how much time it took. However, the sales personnel need tutorial sessions about what different models can and cannot do. For example, how to activate voice commands on different Explorer models. They may not know about non-Ford products, but they definitely should know the features on newer Ford vehicles. If nothing else, conduct an internet search. The customer should not know more than employees of Gates. And finally, the Finance person should know which financial institutions have branches in Madison County. The person gave me incorrect information. A few years ago, I had a negative experience with Gates. This experience has been better, but it has not been excellent.
