Summary: Do NOT shop at this place. They owe me $300+ and products. Read below for details…read more Update: it has now been 35 days since I have returned the item. I still have not received a refund or the other item I purchased. Instead, I received an email from the business owner indicating his displeasure with my review. I strongly advise against ordering from them online. I ordered two items and, aside from an automated confirmation email, heard nothing for over a week. After several attempts, I finally reached someone who informed me that one item had shipped (which it hadn't, as I discovered later) and the other was listed online by mistake. Despite the rough start, I tried to be understanding, knowing they are a small business. Unfortunately, I regret sticking with it. When I received one of the items, I needed to return it. I followed the website's return instructions but didn't hear back. After a week of calls and emails that were left unanswered, I got a response after filing a dispute with my credit card company. They asked me to cancel the dispute, return the item, and promised a refund. Trusting their word, and still wanting to support a small business, I canceled the dispute. It's been 49 days since my purchase, 17 days since the item was returned with over $100 in shipping fees, and numerous follow-ups later, I still haven't heard from them.

And that is saying a lot, because the sheer amount of stuff you "need" is way out of control. But this store is much deeper than it looks, and the shelves are absolutely packed, floor to ceiling with baby stuff. You need toys, backpacks, play pens, water shoes, cards, books, onesies, sleep sacks, high chairs...they are here. This is Brooklyn, which means that generally speaking you're going to pay a little more for all this stuff than you might at a big box store. But this is also Brooklyn, which means that they've curated and they have the crunchy, environmentally-friendly, best-for-your-baby according to some book diapers, cleaning products, and more. I've found that big purchases make a lot of sense here. For instance, our [insanely expensive] stroller [that we had to get because my wife did a lot of research and it's way better than the one that's a reasonable price to pay for a stroller] was the same price as at Buy Buy Baby, except by buying it here: 1. There's a cash discount. 2. I get to support a great local shop. 3. They assembled it for us, and we just rolled it out. Which means I got to watch some kid do the work that I normally would've had to do on a hot day, while my pregnant wife sat in a comfy chair and did NOTHING (that part is the same). They also stock every single accessory you could ever imagine for a stroller. There's adaptors, mirrors, shields, supports, lasers, missiles, trays, bags, liners... Basically, don't have a kid. But if you're not going to listen to me (why are you reading this?), you might as well buy the stuff you need for that kid here.

What an awesome children's clothing & accessory store!!…read more Having an immediate need for a swim suit for a four year old who doesn't like to try on clothes is, in itself, something of a challenge. But combine that with a Grandma (me) who has been sick and doesn't quite feel up to the fitting process can make it a daunting prospect. Picnic made the challenge a breeze. Not being satisfied with the children's shops I had previously frequented, on the way home from Preschool I pulled into street parking in Cobble Hill and searched Yelp for nearby stores. Then I used Yelp to call and inquire about the product and size I wanted. The employee at Picnic was warm and friendly. Best of all she told me they had lots of boys bathing suits in the right size range. The location was great. It was just around the corner from Court Street on what was mainly a brownstone block. Close muni meter parking on Court Street was relatively easy, requiring only one drive around the block. We walked into a beautifully laid out, bright and sunny, well stocked store. As we entered, the employee asked if I had called about the bathing suit. She was just as personable and friendly as on the phone. She pulled out wonderful swim suit and rash vest combos in several sizes. Realizing my struggle to accomplish the fitting task, she took over. Managing to get a four year old to take off his favorite shirt and be fitted in swim wear without complaint was a sight to behold. She even helped with the video chat with my son to get his opinion. What great service!! We chose an adorable Pufferfish set, which could be worn now but allowed room for rapid growth. The store's collection of quality merchandise is extensive. There is even a wall of awesome clocks to brighten up any child's room. We managed to leave with only one toy. Feeding my Grandson's planet obsession was a small'ish rubber ball earth. The awesome store employee was wonderful at assisting Grandma in convincing him to put all the other toys back on the shelf. Whew...... I'm so excited about the Pufferfish swim set purchase. And I'm delighted to have found this store. I can't wait to return for a more leisurely shopping trip.

I wish I had checked the reviews before I signed up. But I was so anxious to get rid of my son's stroller and car seat because he outgrew the stroller and I needed to make space in his room. The stroller was a high end stroller valued at $400 but it was in great condition. These people value your item at a higher price, only to deduct from it every two weeks. I even checked frequently and they were lowering the price before the week has even ended. I do have screenshots too. Now the payout I got for my car seat was $7. After they deduct pickup fee and another $10 fee. The stroller is now being priced at $79, by the time someone buys it, I'll only get maybe $20 if I'm lucky. I could've and tried selling it myself, I only wanted $100 for both items. Also considered buying a stroller from them, or trading but after the deceitful tactics, no way. You can't even speak to a live person, red flag. They only communicate via email. Why? I'm sure you guys can't be that busy. I will never sell myself short again, doing business with these people. I bought a new nice CHicco stroller for $140 from Cookies. They've always been a great brand and good quality strollers. Save your items and business. If you know of any baby gear consignment shops that do good business, drop it in the comments, please.

The moment I walked through the door, the man standing guard barked at me as asked me "What are you doing here?". What sort of question of that!? Obviously i'm here to shop. When I stated such, he pretty much tells me i'm not allowed because "Kids aren't allowed in here/you need to be over 18". I'll admit, I am shorter than my age suggests, but what should that matter? He even went so far as to subtly threaten me to leave, or else. Naturally, I took exception to that, and explained how bogus of a policy that is. Even if I was a youth, why should that matter? I'm here to spend money in your store, what does my age have to do with anything? What kind of department store BARS ITS TARGET DEMOGRAPHIC FROM SHOPPING IN THE FIRST PLACE?! I expressed how insulted I felt about his comments and rules, and kept telling him that I am old enough to belong. He just stared at me with such spite and hit me again with the lowkey threat. Frustrated and short on patience (I just came from a trip out-of-state and was especially tired...) I gave him my ID. Even with proof in his face, it still wasn't good enough for him. He pulled a Co-worker over for a second opinion. When the nice woman confirmed that my ID checked out (Shout out to her, btw. You rock!), it was only then that the Doorman relented and let me pass. I've had encounters with scummy people before, but I have never been so emasculated in public in all my days. To the entity who did that to me: Sort yourself out. Whether you're 13 or 130, those who walk through your doors should be treated with basic human decency. I was not some "kid" out to cause trouble, I was a Customer that YOU told that I shouldn't be gracing your store with my service. Do you ban elderly people from Arcades because they're "Too old"? So why is it ok to shoo me away because I don't look the way you expect? Shame on you, and shame on this store. You will never get my money, and I will recommend that everyone else keep theirs as well.
