The only other locking door is out the basement door at the rear of the house, very inconvenient for taking out the trash, and leaving the house to go out for the day, bringing home groceries, etc. I first contacted a remodeling company via homeadvisor. Their name will go unsaid. They sent out a guy who's job was to write up a work order, not fix my door. All he wanted to do was charge me $2600 for a new door and that would take weeks to schedule. I sent him on his way!! My wife called Abingdon Locksmith located at 2109 Emmorton Park Road. I say this because there are quite a few locksmiths with similar names and locations. Their employee, Devin, arrived on time as scheduled, and deftfully pulled my front open. He has experience with these problems, took him less than 5 minutes. Happy days are here again!!. I had him install a replacement lock (mine was 36 years old) and set up the lock so that my old front door keys still unlocked my new door lock. The fees and charges were extremely fair. Please do yourself a favor. Call these guys if you need a door repaired or new locks.
