What a great addition to this community this store has been! They have wonderful food! You really can't go wrong stopping here for breakfast or lunch. Their groceries are also very good. We can't do a lot of shopping here due to having a very large family and it would far exceed our budget, but if we could shop here we would. Especially their grass fed beef, and other meats with their in house butcher. They also have very yummy sweet treats. Wowww. Wasn't expecting this stopping here for fuel. There is fresh pies, potato soup, cream of broccoli soup, pre-cooked bbq chicken and ribs, fresh cakes as soon as you walk in the door. Striplings lost a customer, probably 2 this past week. Called 2 times to inquire and place an order, was put on hold then disconnected. Also send an online inquiry/order only to be responded to nearly a week later. Not helpful. Striplings + Tom Brady ruined my super bowl Sunday. Striplings more so than Tom. read more

When I crave smoked turkey legs from Disney world parks this is the best place to get them. You can get them already from front or they can get some from the back cold for your oven at home. The prices are generally a little bit more than normal grocery stores but it is rather a home town small atmosphere. So it is reasonable prices for location. I just love this store. The staff is always super friendly. The food is delicious. Yes, some of the groceries are high, but we don't buy those. If you have money and it's close to your home, it's a great place for groceries. I mostly get their bbq, homemade mac and cheese, potato wedges, and/or the desserts! The meats are of excellent quality but the meat cutters are disgruntled when asked to cut meats within 30 minutes of closing. They hem and haw and ask that you choose from what is in the coolers since it's "close to closing time and they have to clean up. " As mentioned by many, all their prices are extremely high. The employees are often rude and, as is often the case in Oconee, no masks are worn by employees or shoppers. I went in recently looking for milk as my family had left ours on the counter all day. A half gallon of Pet brand was about $6. I asked why the prices were so high and the clerk laughed in my face and said that "all our milk is organic and premium brands with none of them hormones". Well, Pet is neither organic nor premium. Often the clerks act as if they are doing you a huge favor by allowing you to shop there. One stock clerk, Raegan, was very kind and respectful and took time to assist an elderly gentleman shopper who looked lost. The manager, Mrs. Allison, is also very kind and efficient but her employees often do not follow her excellent example. read more

While out for a Sunday motorcycle ride, we came across this general store. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but inside they have all kinds of sandwiches, snacks & boiled peanuts. It's also a grocery store on a smaller scale. But what I loved the most was the vast selection of jams, jellies, sauces, dressings and salsa!! We could not get over the huge selection! At that point we vowed to come back in the car so we could stock up on some goodies for home! If you are going to be passing by, make a point of stopping, you won't be disappointed! I cannot help but love this trendy lil market with locally handmade crafts, hot homemade breakfast/lunch/dinner to go and a variety of local products and sweet treats. Yes it's a bit higher than the average grocer but it's great quality local food products like local honey for your hayfever & homemade cakes by the slice, half or whole amazing cake... they have preserves pickles & candied nuts/dried fruits LOTS OF LOCAL GOODS that you cant get in those big stores. OH AND THE STEAKS & FRESH MEATS ARE LIKE SOMETHING OUT OF A KING'S 'MOST EXPENSIVEST' BUTCHERS DISPLAY CASE yet are almost competitively priced given the location of nearest competitor & the noticeably superior quality & cut of meat.. Frozen casseroles by local vendors are available for homemade taste in dinner-from-a-box cook time...Overall, it's worth the higher prices if you're in Bogart & Its because their foods arent mass grown& produced that their products are tastier, fresher & healthier for ya... plus they must be really good to their employees too bcuz even during all this covid madness, workers have remained upbeat friendly and fully staffed with helpful pleasant essential workers making the overall rating 4stars! I'd give five if I was wealthier or their biscuits were better priced and imo less fluffy... it's one thing to pay top dollar for fresh ground chuck but it's another to pay it for a thick crumbly biscuit with a Jimmy dean sausage patty. Sooo That& the 90+ cents for ice cups ..that cost em a star from me today since I get a cup a day almost year round... I recently drove by this location & the crowded parking lot spoke volumes. I made it a point to visit on my next trip to Athens & I've been stopping by ever since. Stripling's has a variety of meats, cheeses, cakes, dressings, sauces, alcohol, chocolate, nuts, beans, seafood, vegetables, freshly-cooked food, etc...and I love that most are provided and processed by local farmers and businesses. Surprisingly, the prices ARE extremely reasonable! Additionally, the staff are friendly & helpful. If you're ever in the area, consider stopping by. By far one of my favorite places to shop for all things meat, sausage, and jerky! The have a little bit of everything(which is probably why they are an awesome General Store!) The spicy jerky is my favorite and they have a hot bar with some of the best BBQ sandwiches around and you can even pick up an entire rack of their smoked ribs ready to eat! Okay where do I start. This place is my go to stop almost every day on the way too work. Best coffee and sweet tea when I need a drink! They also have Sioux City sarsaparilla! Yum! And then there are the biscuits and sandwiches! Out! Of! This! World! I crave their beef jerky and cookies as well for snacks! I can't forget their grits with sausage and cheese in the mornings ether! (if I make it there early enough!) It's all so good! They even have salads! Twice I have bought near here and it was spoiled. The first time was last easter and I bought lamb chops. I purchased them in the mid afternoon, drove home, (less than 15 min) put them in the fridge, and pulled them out at dinner time the following day and they were spoiled. I decided to give them one more try, I went and bought a pre-packaged 2 lb pack of ground beef on my way home from work, I got home less than 15 minutes later, opened the package to make hamburgers and the beef was spoiled.
