Holy smokes their chicken sandwich is amazing!!!! I've had breakfast burritos as well which are always solid and reasonably priced but the chicken sandwich is my favorite item on the menu. It's a hand breaded, made to order breast topped with fresh veggies and a soft bun with a sauce that is superb!!! They are open early and have a drive thru which I love! I had heard really good things about this drive thru burrito spot. Since driving in the area, I thought I would give it a try. I chose a # 1 bacon breakfast burrito with red on the side. I did not expect shredded bacon and tiny cubes of fried potatoes and it was delicious. There was a small bit of melted orange colored cheese. The red sauce was mild and flavorful, and I dipped my burrito into it, so I got just the tight amount sauce. I checked out the other items on the menu and look forward to coming back soon and trying other items. The line was long, but well worth the wait. They got the orders out quickly. "WORLDS BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH" -- stated on one of the signs for Stripes - I wasn't a believer until I took my first bite. It definitely makes it to my top 3 for sure! Their spicy sauce is perfect, as saucy as it looks - it wasn't an overkill at all. Their shoe string fries go perfectly with the meal, so crispy and thin ! Came here on a Sunday morning breakfast before riding out to White Sands National park - the drive thru line was pretty long, reaching out into the Main Street BUT it went by surprisingly quick! If you're in Albuquerque you def don't wanna miss this spot. Had to get this spot twice during our 4 day trip in ALB :P Happy eating ! read more

A friend and I stopped in for breakfast. I got a breakfast burrito with bacon and sausage plus extra potatoes, no Chile. It was super delicious. The bacon was crispy, sausage had a little spice to it, eggs were fluffy, and the potatoes were crispy. Not very expensive and filled me up. We had a little trouble getting a straw and napkins but the service was prompt and our food was ready quickly. The drive-thru was packed so we chose to use the walk-up window and sit at the one table outside. It turned out to be the quicker option. read more

The burritos are really good. However ... it's a super simple menu, and yet about 50% of the time I don't end up getting what I ordered. There are a handful of filling options. Two types of chile. Two sizes of burrito. It really shouldn't be that hard to give a customer what they ordered. Perfect example from today. I ordered a carne adovado burrito with green chile. I ended up with a barbacoa burrito with red chile. I really didn't have time once I got home and found out they messed up my order AGAIN to drive back and ask them to correct it. If it had just happened once, I wouldn't complain about it ... but it has now happened several times. read more

There's nothing I've had here that hasn't been great! Our favorite is the breakfast burrito (add refried beans) and of course, the chicken sandwich, but be prepared to wait in a long line at the drive-thru. Stripes has become a very popular place in the past few years, but I hadn't tried anything from them until they had a location in Rio Rancho. Their burritos are similar to twisters, the chile is more of a sauce, and the size is decent, but a little small for the price. The flavor of my burrito was just okay, nothing to wow me or make me go, oh this will be my favorite place, but just hum okay, I'd eat this again I suppose, but it isn't my top choice. There was quite a long line waiting as well, I think likely because they are new in town people are excited. I'll give them another try, but maybe try the biscuits as opposed to the burrito. read more

I absolutely LOVE Stripes Burritos restaurant. Only place I enjoy burritos, but I tried the the corned beef burrito and I got a little sick from it. I did NOT taste any corned beef at all. I DON'T recommend the #7. It was loaded with green pepper and onion, but NOT corned beef. I'm going to try the corned beef only burrito, but will avoid the #7 at all cost. This is actually the 1st and only burrito I've hated. I recommend Stripes Burritos and Chicken sandwich to everyone, a LOT of people. read more

This is easily my favorite place to get a chicken sandwich. I've had chicken sandwiches from everywhere & no one else compares. The chicken is hot, fresh, juicy with a perfect crisp. Their green chile ranch is so good!if you prefer a less spicy sandwich you can get it on the side. Their fries are perfect! I really love their fries. They're perfectly crispy. I've tried their breakfast burritos here as well & they are pretty good. I'm so glad there is a stripes in Rio Rancho now because it was about a 30 minute drive to the closest one. What a joke... I was handed my order and noticed that the bag didn't look large enough for my 2 burritos and chicken sandwich, the work assured me it was all in the bag. I get home and sure enough, no chicken sandwich. Ok, no problem, mistakes happen... 1 hour later I grab my receipt and head back to the store. They summon the manager and he comes to the window and says, "none of us were here" basically accusing me of lying and not trying to figure it out. I guess he will have to call another manager... to give away a sandwich?? I'm not standing in 90 degree weather waiting for calls and permission to maybe get refunded, or get a sandwich. Finally got to try this place I had heard so much about. The breakfast burrito didn't disappoint. I got the large bacon green chile. The burrito was huge and they didn't skimp on the bacon, although I would have like more green chile. My daughter got a veggie breakfast burrito, and got plenty of green chile. My wife got the carne lunch burrito and it was moist with good red chile taste, not too many potatoes, good ratio. My son got the chicken basket, and the chicken was okay, good fries. I'd like to go back and try the chicken sandwich and compare it to other chicken sandwiches I've written reviews for. Overall the large burritos remind me of the kind you would get at the balloon fiesta, but juicier. I'd put Stripes maybe a step above Twisters (which I think is always a good standby option), good burritos, good amount of food for the money. read more
