Please call or text at 916-362-2478. Mike the owner is very honest, reliable and knowledgeable.

This very serious pitting clearly caused observable road noise.

I have been a customer of Stringfield's Auto Electric since 1984. I have always been very happy with their work. A while back while having some electrical work done, Jon (a highly skilled mechanic working there) had mentioned that they have expanded and now do many other repairs on vehicles, not just electrical repair work. WHY I AM NOW SWITCHING TO THEM FOR OTHER (NON-ELECTRICAL) REPAIR ISSUES Over the years I have used a variety of businesses in the Rancho Cordova region for non-electrical issues and I had found one (I will call Business X) that I felt was very competent. On a major trip early this summer, I began to notice a (likely) bearing noise in the rear of the vehicle which would require a hoist for safe diagnosis (my current vehicle is 4WD). Business X (that had partially changed ownership since I last used it) charged me $130 to (allegedly) diagnose the source of the noise. They determined that it was a need for new tires. Four new tires did not eliminate the noise I was hearing. Another of their mechanics then thought it might be the differential and they recommended another business to help diagnose the noise. I was very upset with Business X for not being able to diagnose the noise since they had hoists. I next consulted with Jon at Stringfield's about the issue and asked for his advice. He said he was very skilled with all the components (including differentials) of my vehicle that could possibly be making the noise. The next work day he road tested it, found the source of the problem, and fixed it that same day. It was a seriously pitted axle where the roller bearing contacts the axle (see attached photos). Had this been a 2WD vehicle I would have been able to diagnose and fix the issue myself. I have repaired this identical damage on two occasions on a former 2WD vehicle. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION: I am relieved that the problem causing the noise has been found and corrected. The noise of concern is gone. This morning (after thoroughly road testing the vehicle yesterday) I let Jon know how pleased I am that he is now working on more than just electrical issues. Rancho Cordova definitely has at least one highly skilled mechanic who I can turn to in the future for diagnosing and repairing such issues.

He quickly helped me install the dash cam without any appointments -- I just showed up and asked for help, and he did.

Mike thoroughly checked the vehicle and determined that there was no drain, but that I needed a new battery.

It's smog check up the road, and so I needed to drive it about 50 miles or so to "reset the car's computer, " before it would pass . I decided to stop here for an oil change before I did that, as the car was way overdue. I was helped by Mike. He's helped me before, he's always thorough, friendly, and helpful. He got me checked in, he told me the different options for an oil change, and I told him which one I wanted. They did the oil change, and I was out in about 15 to 20 minutes. The price was extremely reasonable. Everything was great. Before I left, on the side, I happened to mention that I had needed the oil change because of the smog check. He said, oh, before you take the car back to the smog shop, stop in here, we will do a pretest to make sure you drove enough to reset the computer. I said, no charge? Nope That was nice of him. I drove 45 miles "up the hill" to Pollock Pines, to look at all of the pretty new snow. I came back, it took less than five minutes to do the pretest, and he told me, "green lights all the way." I took the car back to the smog shop and passed with flying colors. As I mentioned, I've always gotten great service here at Danny's. Thank you, Mike, for taking that extra step for me. I truly appreciate it. I will be back.

If you need an honest, knowledgeable, and fairly priced auto repair shop near Gold River or Rancho Cordova, I'd definitely recommend them. They've worked on my 2017 Ford Transit Connect, 2014 Mercedes GL63, and 2014 BMW X5. They replaced a driver-side CV axle, did oil changes, replaced brake pads and rotors, diagnosed and fixed an A/C and heater blower issue, repaired a trunk/liftgate problem, and also replaced a valve cover and gasket and battery. What stood out to me most was how knowledgeable, honest, and fair Samson and his team were throughout the process. The staff are friendly, the front desk is welcoming, and the customer service has been great. It's hard to find a shop that does quality work at reasonable prices, but 916 Auto Repair has done that for me. Definitely recommended.

I contacted 916 Auto after doing a 2 and half week research (which included Yelp and Google…read moreReviews) to have my 2004 Mazda 3 AC Condenser (Factory OEM) replaced. My AC Drier was cracked and inoperable since last year. In this region of the Sacramento Valley and Placer County, 916 Auto quote beat 5 shops I contacted in the region and 1 shop even told me it's not worth it and I should get a new car. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time! Have fun out there & do your research!

His shop is clean, organized, and he's extremely knowledgeable when it comes to Japanese vehicles. What I appreciate most is his honesty, his prices are fair, and he will NOT recommend anything your car doesn't actually need. That kind of trust is hard to find. I'm really glad I found his shop, especially since it's so convenient to my home. After our longtime "legendary" mechanic retired, it was a relief to find someone just as reliable. I'll definitely continue bringing my car here and recommending him to my family. Thanks again, Loc, for the great work!

I've been taking my Acura TL to the dealership for all my maintenance and repairs for many years…read moreand quite satisfied with Acura. They've always provided me with a loaner whenever I needed to leave my car, which is a huge plus since the loaner cars are nice and new. However, as my car aged, it needed more repairs and the cost at Acura became more and more outrageous every time I went back for maintenance. I decided to try other places and never fully satisfied with the other shops. I even felt like some of them were just as expensive as Acura w/out a loaner! I don't know much about cars, but the past few years after dealing with multiple shops and different mechanics, I've learned a thing or two about how to shop around and get 2nd or 3rd opinions. I also learned a valuable lesson that some shops will scam you if you don't know anything about cars! Anyways, the performance on my car has been different and I can feel it needed some repairs. I took it to a mechanic that I've been going to for few years to do my oil change, and he told me what needed to be fixed. Even though I trust this guy, his pricing was a bit much and decided to look around. I even took it to Acura. I did some research and found out what I needed for my car and what questions to ask. I called a few places before coming across this shop. Loc picked up the phone and explained everything to me, gave me pros and cons, and his prices for each item that we discussed were very reasonable, so I booked an appointment to bring my car in. He test drove the car himself, which I truly appreciate. That tells me he takes the time to know the car. He called me right around the time he said he would and explained to me exactly what needed to be fixed (exactly what the other mechanic told me & what Acura told me), how much the cost would be (less than the other mechanic & less than Acura), and provided a timeframe when the repair would be done. Throughout the whole time that I dealt with Loc, I can tell he is very knowledgeable, fair, honest, transparent, and most of all, he values his customers (which is rare these days). I also like that he only uses OEM parts! That's something I just learned that shops don't use unless you specify. My total cost including my rental car is still much cheaper than the other places I looked into. I am very pleased with this business and more than happy to be return for future repairs. Thank you, Loc!
