The green is surrounded by stone paths and gardens filled with pretty flowers- and it was so peaceful to walk around and explore. My kids ran around, finding 'secret' spots. The bride and groom love the outdoors, so this spot made so much sense. The reception afterwards was in one of the main rooms, a beautiful room, which accommodated us all comfortably. After dinner, we were asked to move to the opposite room for a dj and dancing. I wish the staff had told us that we could return to the dining room- to just leave our belongings there. Or perhaps I misunderstood this. Our host eventually shared that they had rented the entire property for the night- that we could gather anywhere that we wanted. We ended up chilling in the dining room as well as another smaller room where there was coffee (also not communicated well).

These trees are well groomed to allow for beautiful hanging lights and the natural foliage to provide a canopy beneath the stars or daytime sky. We were concerned about finding a band that could appeal to such a broad age range with eclectic musical tastes, but this band more than appealed to our guests. They had everyone on the dance floor smiling and having a spectacular time. The band included two vocalists and four instrumentalists for a three-hour event that included the dinner hour and two hours of dancing. For the dinner hour, the band played beautiful jazz music, which allowed the guests to enjoy their dinner and conversation with soothing music playing in the background. The dancing portion of the night kicked off with the song, At Last by Etta James that was beautifully performed by their female vocalist. In fact, I think she sounded better than the original artist. From there, the band transitioned smoothly from one genre to the next with pure talent. Almost all of the guests were on the dance floor throughout the night dancing, laughing and having a great time. I'm not exaggerating when I say family and friends still talk about how awesome he was and how much fun they had. Another DJ who was booked for our date actually recommended Chris and I immediately recognized his name from the radio thinking there was no way we could afford this famous DJ. He was super affordable and the packages he offered were comparable to others in the area. We met with Chris in person to go over the event and he was so sweet - we clearly didn't know what we wanted and he was super patient. Chris even gave us some sample timelines of other couples so we had something to copy. Our wedding was at Turf Valley and Chris was familiar with the venue, so he had some really good suggestions - he actually was the reason we extended the reception an extra hour, which we are so glad we did! Chris had 2 conference calls with us where we went through some key songs (father/daughter, first dance, etc.), but we just let him take the reigns on everything else and he absolutely KILLED IT! We used Chris before he had the photo booth and other services, but I'm sure those are top notch as well. I would (and do) recommend Chris to everyone! Kirk Rubley is the owner and primary DJ and he was the one who provided services for our event. He was outstanding and everything I wanted in a deejay. He was understated in his demeanor, both in his appearance and in his mannerisms. He was polite and respectful, did not use foul language and did not try to take over the party. Rather than making it about himself, he made it about us. Our party was very similar to a wedding reception and he guided us through the various stages in a subtle manner, which was important to me. Unlike other DJs he did exactly what I wanted. I had different age groups there and he only played my chosen genres and did not forget any of the songs I wanted him to play or the order I wanted them played. Kirk also added other songs to the list that were appropriate for the specific age groups present and that did not include foul language or violence. He handled requests very well; if they were questionable he sought my approval first. Kirk went over and above for us throughout the night, even helping my son with problems he had getting the video ready to play.
