My husband's family is from west Africa and my family is mostly from the north east of the US. We asked Andre to keep in mind music for all generations and both of our cultures, and we blended everything seamlessly. I honestly don't know how he managed it, but everyone--from my young cousins to my husband's parents to my conservative grandparents--was absolutely thrilled with the music. It's July and I'm still trying to get someone from this company to refund the money (I've called and emailed to no avail) we paid for DJ services that were NEVER RENDERED!!!! I'm going through my bank now to dispute the payment as it's a pain. She played a little bit of everything for all ages and even took requests. The dance floor was packed for a good two hours solid! She played everyone's favorites and we danced until we were exhausted. I actually had a chance to speak with her and she told me she's been DJing for over 20 years and actually started her career as a radio announcer...no wonder she rocked the mic! She said she also works from coast to coast deejaying special events, weddings and in night clubs and is an event coordinator having worked with big time companies like MTV and SHOWTIME. Wow! Something I found very interesting is that she said she specializes in both straight and gay weddings and is very sensitive to the needs of the happy couple, regardless. She seemed genuinely sincere when she said that the last thing a couple trying to plan a wedding should worry about is their DJ. She said she likes to plan everything in advance so there are no "surprises" at the party. She said, "You know exactly what you're getting up front." Well, I can tell you she did a fantastic job at my friend's wedding...it was one of the few receptions I've been to where I actually had FUN and could dance to all of the music that was played.
