For the last 5 years I've been buying my children shoes here and they have incorrectly sized them everytime, we get home and the shoes are falling off or are so long they trip and fall because of them, but don't try to argue with their associates, our last visit I was done being told what worked best for my child and I spoke up said we'd take them in this size and style, here's my money thank you, the attitude I was met with was unbelievable they actually tried to still bring the shoe they insisted on to the register anyways, never in my life have I been treated so disrespectfully and unprofessionally, please look elsewhere, they up charge more than any other local child's boutique, Dillard's, Nordstrom DSW all Have better options and nicer associates read more

When babies have wide little fat feet, the last thing you want to do is squeeze them into a narrow shoe. Stride rites are the only shoes that have babies in mind in their design. And only ones wide enough I can find to fit the babies around me. I found some nice shoes online I wanted to order, some water shoes. I had no idea what size to order so I took the baby to the store to get sized and it was an awesome experience. The young lady was very kind and gave me lots of tips for picking out the right shoe for fit. She knew a lot about the line of shoes. The in-store selection is pretty good, but for more expansive inventory you may want to check online as well. Darling, adorable shoes and a great inventory of different sizes inside. This shoe store with a salon in the back is one of my Preston Hollow secrets. Walk-In haircuts for myself and Mini Pirate are under $50, which is incredible, especially for this area. His cut cost around $17 and mine was a bit more, although I do not remember the exact price. It's a great deal for a trim though. Mini Pirate loved that I got a haircut with him, and the hairdressers are extremely nice and good with kids. They have some cool kid's shoes in stock and all the employees were helpful and friendly. read more

We were in town to visit family this weekend, and had time to come in on Sunday. We were lucky enough to get Mr. Derek to help us. We looked around while we waited for him to finish up with his previous clients. We kind of knew what we wanted, but he was able to get four kids measured in no time, pull our shoes, and get us what we needed in about 15 minutes. When you have little kids in various stages of post lunch sugar crash, this is pretty great. Derek was wonderful with the kids and great with us, too. We were able to get Uggs, dress shoes, casual shoes, tennis shoes and baby shoes all in one quick and easy stop. The prices were exactly as you'd expect. Though it wasn't open when we were there, I think the idea of a haircut shop inside a shoe store is so great. You can get your littles all spiffed up one quick stop! These people really know what they are doing. They also have a great selection and I can't say enough good things about their customer service. I'm confused why this store is called "Stride Rite." I was looking for Stride Rite brand's version of the water shoe (Phibian), so thought the Stride Rite store was my best bet for finding it. I went in and asked for that shoe, and they told me that they don't carry those, but offered to show me water shoes in two other brands. I ended up going to Dillard's for the shoes that we wanted. They need to discard the "Stride Rite" name as it is a misrepresentation of what they actually sell in the store (Natives, Nikes, etc. - but not Stride Rite). read more

We drove 20 minutes to this store to buy our daughter her first pair of shoes. We are so happy we did. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and told where to go so my daughter could be fitted. Were were in and out of the store within 10 minutes. They had a huge selection and were extremely kind. I will be getting all my children's shoes from this location moving forward. Just got my son's shoes here a month ago. Several friends recommended Stride Rite so we tried it. We LOVE them! He is 14 months old & we had first tried some nike shoes with Velcro when he started walking. They didn't work out because his feet are so wide and large on top. So we tried Stride Rite & ended up having to get shoes that were two sizes larger to accommodate his foot! We are so glad we went here so that they could give us advice & fit his feet in the perfect shoes. He walks in his Stride Rite shoes much more easily & loves to wear them!! They are roomy in the toes, but fit right around his foot so they don't come off. They have the best options for beginning walkers! We walked in & the staff helped us immediately. Service stinks at this location! I walked in and despite there being 3 salespeople there in the front part of the store( 1 just standing there) no one greeted us or asked if we needed help. Strike one. So after some looking around, I found the small shoes and the 2 pairs I wanted. At no time did any sales person come up to help us. Despite the fact that there was a salesperson in that area helping another customer and who saw me looking at shoes. Plus another salesperson kept walking back and forth through the area. Strike 2. So I went up to the counter, only to have the guy at the counter walk away as I got there. Strike 3! Due to this, I decided that I would go to the Stride Rite at Valley View (since they actually have customer service) and walked quietly out of the store, only to have the standing sales lady at the front give me a dirty look. I'm the Operations Manager for a nationally, well recognized men's retailer in Fort Worth. The largest part of my position involves taking care of wedding parties in regards to formalwear rental sales. Yesterday, Saturday June 11, I had a wedding in which I needed a boys size 3 shoe to replace a boys 2 that did not fit my client. I attempted to locate a replacement shoe for the young man (ring bearer) within our organization in both Tarrant and Dallas counties. On one of my multiple call attempts to locate this replacement shoe it was recommended to me by a co-worker in the Arlington area that Stride Rite carries a shoe that is comparable in tone to what I needed for this young man. After exhausting my options to locate within our organization I jumped on the recommendation. I first reached out to the vista ridge location - very nice folks but unfortunately were not able to satisfy my needs. I then called the location on Luther in Dallas (Preston and NW Hwy) where my call was answered by Megan. In a half panic - OMG - I'm so worried that I'm not going to make this happen....and which way shall I go next if I don't get my hands on this shoe moment (the normal pre-wedding anxiety when everything just isn't falling RIGHT into place as one hopes) I explained to Megan what shoe I need, what size, what color and particularly what tone of the color I needed (or the absolute closest tone). Call me crazy but I asked if she'd just send me a picture by text of available options (didn't have time to catalog browse online) and without hesitation or second thought Megan jumped right on my request and within seconds of hanging up with her I had my picture. Perfect! Found what I deemed to be the best available option. I called Megan back asked if she'd have it on hold for me, she price quoted me and I was on my way! I left my store in North Ft Worth location at 11:00 am because I have a commitment to deliver merchandise for another wedding party on the way to Dallas and it needs to be delivered at 11:30 am sharp for a 12:30 pm wedding. Merchandise delivered promptly on time to wedding #1 and on to Dallas I went! Fortunately, as I was arriving the area of Stride Rite another shopper was backing out of a space close by and was able to take that slot - I was concerned about parking because it's a heavy dine and shop area (really cool area, in fact, great food options!). I walk in to Stride Rite and everyone was really very pleasantly nice. Everyone was all smiles and happy, inquiring about my visit - the woman that assisted me immediately explained that Megan was with a customer but that she'd be happy to help (which indicated to me that Megan took the time to communicate this information over to her co-worker) - I took one look at those shoes (which were totally cute!), she had me bagged and out the door. I was on my way back to Ft Worth with shoes for my client! YAY! I was able to deliver the shoes to my client something just over one hour before their party was to be in full dress for photography pre-wedding. As of this morning, I get word back that my client's wedding was fantastic. I am so happy for the bride and groom and, in my opinion, it's in large part because Megan (a vendor) was kind enough to take care of me (another vendor) with such courtesy and professionalism. Sounds rather cliche but.....please give that young lady a raise! Thanks again Megan! I would give no stars if I could. The associate that was getting our shoes was extremely rude. He was exhaling as though he was tired, frustrated, or like he didn't want to work with me; I only asked for two shoe sizes, two pairs of shoes. When I was checking out, he slammed the paper and pen for me to sing on the counter. After I signed, he threw the pen on the counter. He never thanked me for my purchase. This location has the WORST service ever! I went in on a Tuesday afternoon and there were 4 sales associates working. Not a single one greeted us not did anyone offer to help us. Of the 4 sales associates, only 3 were actively helping other customers. The guy sales associate just looked at us and walked by...not once asking if we needed anything. I chalked it up to them being busy, so I found the "baby" shoes and looked a while on my own. During this time, 2 sales associates became available to help but made no effort whatsoever. In fact, 2 NEW customers came in and they decided to help them instead. So, again, we were overlooked. I even walked up to the counter only to have a blonde sales associate walk away, never even addressing me. I went back to the baby shoes hoping someone would assist but after 15 minutes, I realized that they didn't want my business. As I was leaving the store, the guy sales associate asked me if I found everything okay....I very clearly told him "NO, everyone is too busy to help us, so we're leaving." The people that work there are a disgrace to the company. I was completely appalled by the lack of service and I will NEVER visit again. read more
