Purchased two pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes for $603.76 while on business trip to the Company's 3699 McKinney Street location in Dallas West Village on 10/25/22. Was told by sales woman, a long-time employee, that the shoes came with free lifetime repair guarantee. I just tried to arrange to have one of two pairs re-heeled, but I was informed that I would be charged for ANY work performed on the shoes. I had purchased Allen Edmonds dress shoes before 2022 in another city with same free lifetime repair guarantee, but I've not had to send any purchases for repairs until now. VERY BAD FORM ON THE PART OF ALLEN EDMONDS. Two false promises in two different cities. read more

An order for pickup was cancelled despite speaking to the store and being promised they would hold it for me until I was back in town. Instead they canceled the order and offered nothing, not even an apology for wasting my time. Horrible customer service, and not the first time they have failed here. I went into Allen Edmonds for the first time a few days ago. Malcolm Himes III helped me to pick out the right pair for shoes. I ended up getting a classic. The Park Avenue Cap-toe Oxford (tan). These shoes are a substantial upgrade from my old Joseph Abboud shoes from Men's Warehouse! The Park Avenues were at a substantial discount ($260 through the end of July '19), so I debated on buying a second pair of black shoes. Ultimately I opted not to, because between the first pair and a $100 matching belt I thought that was enough. The belt had to be orders, and I received it within two days. First day wearing them, I felt like a new man! Long story short, a today I was back in the store and Malcolm helped me pick out a second pair of black shoes, also on sale through the end of July '19 for $260, and a matching belt for $70. The shoes I wanted (Carlyle Plain-toe) weren't in the store in my size, so Malcolm had them shipped to me, and assured me that if they weren't right I could bring them in, and he would exchange them. I noticed each style's size was a little different, so it's important to try them on. Malcolm took his time to help me, and was very knowledgeable about the differences between shoes. My first business trip in two years, this time to Dallas for a conference, and I brought some Cole Haans that kept sticking to the convention floor (even when clean) and caused a fall (my pride was hurt more than my body, but still). I had other shoes that were too casual - don't ask why I packed so poorly (two years of no business trips, perhaps? :)) - so between activities, I found Allen Edmonds on Yelp and UBER'd there. The store was compact but meticulously cared for and Barbara helped me out. A quick description of my dilemma had her suggesting a shortlist of possibilities - she made some assumptions about shoe size that were right on (I wear mostly sneaks at home these days, since the office has been closed/empty). She also could discern my general style. Three pairs of shoes tried on later, I had a perfect fit. I also casually asked about some dark jeans, which would be a great fit with a new blazer I wanted to try out. I've never acquired Allen Edmonds shoes nor visited their stores, so this was a pretty special visit, made better by the fact that Barbara is an absolute pro at helping you make choices that not only look fabulous, but work for you. I'm 57 but like to at least put a little hipness/non-fogey in my clothing step, and she just seemed to get it. I was eternally thankful at being in and out in about 20 minutes (including trying the jeans, which worked out great). The story has a bit of a cute ending in that, upon sprucing up at the hotel and putting on my new jeans, shoes and blazer, I was unexpectedly interviewed for a magazine and just happened to look my best, thanks to the series of events that had occurred. "Well played," as my friend Gary might say, except I never knew what I was playing until I won! Anecdotes aside, this is a very fine store and Barbara is a spectacular salesperson, not forcing upsells, but also helping the customer (me) entertain alternatives and possessing razor-sharp perspectives to make me extremely satisfied. Stopped into The Village mid Sunday afternoon and lucked into a store front parking spot pretty quickly. But walking around I was having a hard time finding the store so I called and they actually came out and found me because I was close but lost for it. Talk about above and beyond! Allen Edmonds has always had shoes that are very well made ranging in styles from wingtip to casual to sport, but their hallmark for me is the fit and qualityanddurability. You won't find a better made shoe. So if you are in the area stop by and talk to Larry Varner and he will fix right you up with several options. I even found out that I can get leather sole wingtip shoes (and others) resoled by them. These shoes can last decades when you take care of them. read more

Larry was my sales rep here, great guy to work with if he's around when you come in. I've bought 1-2 pairs of shoes here and one pair of wing-tip boots as well. I regularly get compliments regardless of which I'm wearing at the time. I am also (as Larry would tell you) very particular on my arch support, so to find dress shoes I can be in and walk around in for extended periods of time is truly an "investment" for me, but that's what you'll find here with their selection -- an "investment." I stopped by the store today after hearing from a friend about Allen Edmonds 91st Anniversary Sale! Russ was extremely helpful. I went into the store having already looked at the shoes online. I wanted to try on the Mcallisters prior to buying them. I ended up trying on quite a few pairs of shoes. I tried on some loafers, grand cayman and firenze. I tried on a total of 5 shoes in all and decided to purchase my original choice, the Mcallister in walnut. The online display of the walnut color does not do it justice. You really have to see the color to appreciate it. So the store didn't have the shoe I wanted in my size. Russ arranged to have it shipped to me for no extra charge. I paid with my credit card, was in, and was out. I'm sure glad I stopped by and I can't wait for my shoes to show up at my doorstep. Thanks for your help today Russ. read more

Good service at the front end, buying the shoes - their friendly, helpful staff made the buying process painless. Unfortunately, the shoes fell apart after a few months, and there's no warranty. This store has one of the best service. I was traveling on business from L.A. to Dallas and was just browsing when I walked into this store. I have been looking for an Italian style loafer and I asked to try on the Verona II Italian loafer and was quite surprised how comfortable it felt. So I got curious and asked to try one of their cap toe oxfords. He brought out a burgundy color Fifth Ave Oxford that just looked gorgeous and after I put it on, I had to buy it. Since I was traveling, I did not want to pack a box of new shoes in my carry on luggage. Russ solved that problem by saying he will Fedex it free to my office in L.A. Awesome! read more

Bought 2 pairs of calfskin and 1 cordovan here. I wanted the perfect fit or at least comfortable. Lady manager suggested 7D, so I tried on and it felt a bit too snug, some discomfort. She told me they will stretch and will fit fine over time. Today I wore Cornwallis to work and two hours in, my toes are pressing against the sidewalls like they want out of prison. Aching pain with every step. Left this location an email, and after receiving no timely repsonse, I called AE customer service. The customer service rep was superb. Courteously, she told me the truth, that these Cornwallis do not stretch much at all.. She suggested that I best go to another store and try out some larger sizes or larger widths. Needless to say, I am disappointed in the manager here for pitching the "they will stretch" to make a sale. I'll never return here and will try the Willow Bend location for some larger sizes, then have AE replace the three pairs. read more
