I have shopped at this company for years when they used to be called Rochester in Preston Forest. The company had changed directions, lower quality merchandise and fewer sales people to help in the stores. I shop at both the Dallas and Frisco locations. Bring a shop for big and tall, the one service I miss most is that they do not have onsite tailoring, which their clients need usually. It's sad that DXL keeps pushing the customer to purchase online, even in the stores. I guess this helps reduce inventory costs, but the customer pays full retail in the store or online. Great service once you're inside. They have someone named Paul (I believe he's a manager), who is unbelievable. He can guess your measurements (male or female) before taking them and he's spot on every time. He finds exactly what you're looking for, notifies you of anything on sale or any deals happening, finds the best comfort and look for you. He's taken care of my brothers and me for 4 or 5 years, I strongly recommend asking for him if you need recommendations, measurements, or any other questions you might have. The only reason I give this a 2 out of 5 is because without Paul, I'm not sure I'd be their customer anymore. Their communication/ customer service out of the store is horrible. If you have measurements or need something tailored, they don't communicate if/ when the item(s) are ready for pick up. When you call to check up on said item(s), they NEVER answer the phone (469-232-9673). It takes hours every single tome and multiple calls (not an exaggeration to call over 20 times) before/ if anyone ever answers. It's a guessing game on when your tailored item(s) are finished/ will be finished. Summary: in store service is phenomenal - especially Paul. Out of store (over the phone/ email), they are horrible. Stopped by about 3 weeks ago with my husband on the hunt for a gift. The gift was a specific white French cuff dress shirt. Price was no object. Walked in about 30 minutes prior to closing, shouldn't be a big deal since we were looking for something specific, not just wandering around and trying on things. An African American salesman (forgot his name) asked if my husband needed help, my husband explained and the salesman showed him one shirt, said it was $350. My husband looked at the tag and it clearly said $140 (not a sale price) Salesman reply was "oh, better for you". Then my husband asked if there were other brands with a texture, and he pulled from a shelf 4 feet away a shirt for $89. We liked the shirt but we felt as a gift it wasn't pricy enough for a man with exceptional taste. Then the salesman said they didn't have the right size and would have to order it. Now it gets weird... salesman keeps pushing the subject of not buying a French cuff shirt, since he personally does not like French cuff...if your in sales you like everything the customer likes, please don't push your own preferences on to customers. So we explained 3 times it's a gift for a man who wares $3,000 cuff links. WE WANT A FRENCH CUFF SHIRT! Salesman said "I don't understand? Why do you need that kind of shirt? Is it a French cuff party?!?" my husband go and sits down while I try and reason with salesman this is what we want and when we need it while he's typing in a iPad. Then I guess another salesman/manager comes and sits down with my husband explaining to him that we have to buy a shirt because we "wasted the guys time"...ALL THIS WENT DOWN FOR MAYBE 15 MINUETS! What planet are we on? Who does this? Being from West Los Angeles and traveling all over I've been in stuck up department stores and high end designer stores and I have NEVER come across any salespeople who treated me and my husband the way those 2 did that night. You work at DXL not Chanel, not Armani, and even if you did you would never force someone to buy something just because it's their job to see if they have any sizes in stock. Next day we went to the Allen store wonderful lady explained they have herd plenty of complaints about this store and offered us 20% off anything in store even though she also did not have what we wanted. She referred us to Frisco who literally knew who my husband was the second he walked in the store with shirt in hand and an additional 20% off and a sincere apology from the manager. Bottom line, stay away from this particular store and make the trip north for a better experience, unless you like to be forced fed personal opinions and like to be forced to buy stuff you don't want because you wasted "Their" time. read more

I came in with an urgent need for a sport coat, dress pants, dress shirt and tie for a wedding in just a few days. Paul took one look at me and put me in my exact sized sport coat, selected a pair of pants and shirt that went great with the jacket, and finished it off with the perfect tie and pocket silk! Customer service is absolutely ELITE. Very few places can match up. The measure of service isn't accomplished when all goes right, rather when something goes wrong. I had alterations that had to be sent to this store as it is the flagship location in DFW. I specifically asked that they stay at this location when finished as I am closer to this store than the Allen location. Well Allen screwed up and forgot to inform the Park store to keep the altered Sport Coats. When I arrived to pick up for my trip they were back in Allen. I do not live close so making a trip to Allen would have been a real hassle, but I also couldn't wait around for them to have the coats sent back to Dallas. The store manager offered not only to pick up the sport coats from Allen but he also delivered them to me 30 minutes away in Forney near my home!!!!! Wow! Just spectacular service......if that wasn't enough he offered me 20% of whatever I wanted in the store next time I come through. Truly exemplary service! I almost exclusively shop at DXL and from now on I will ONLY shop at this location! read more

This store may give you the worst shopping experience if you happen to be serviced by this gentleman called as Andre!!! He is not interested in selling any thing. You will feel that your are not invited to the store!!! He will not let you try out more than one shirt from a brand!! He calls it store policy that does not let him open more than one shirt from a brand, the same goes for pants!! Because he measures you, it does not mean that you like the fit. I am so impressed by the customer service here. Not only were we promptly greeted, but we were assisted every step of the way. My boyfriend needed shirts and pants, had to get the pants hemmed. Everything was handled beautifully and the pants were shipped to our home free when they were done. My guy took advantage of the sales......great prices for big & tall! We will be back! read more

Nice selection of jeans,suit jackets,and rare but limited items other locations don't carry. Save your wallet here. It's easy to spend racks due to brands and its market zone. Not really a diverse array of clothing. Though ones grandpa or elder uncle would be in heaven with DXL's style for the mature. Nothing cultural or age binding about their other options. We were treated like royalty from the minute we walked in. My husband was told that he had to look more professional if he wanted to keep his job, so we came in desperate to create an entirely new wardrobe. I can't remember the man's name who helped us (I think his name started with an A) but he was amazing. We're both helpless with fashion and he was right there pairing things with other things.
