I am on my third month and have noticed a marked decrease in the pain in my hips from arthritis. I highly recommend.

Neat features: -TV synced with iPad's to count down time for exercises and for rest. This was really neat and a nice transparent motivator - I like having a proper end point and goal to work toward and that helped supplement so you weren't trying to just hear one person say how long you have over the noise of the gym. - TRX - one of my favorite moves and they have TONS of straps. Was awesome that this was incorporated into the workout - Crossfit/bootcamp like equipment like the sled, ropes, rowing machine, and boxes for jumping. Neat because I haven't had the opportunity to do workouts with those sorts of materials before and I really enjoyed it - Kettlebells - another Crossfit type workout item that I LOVE and they ran a good type of challenging workout with these. Really benefited from that and learned some new, safe techniques with these that I will definitely continue to employ - Enough trainers dispersed for a class to help give some individual attention to each person there Just enough space for what they need, and surprising variety. They even offered us an additional free group class card to come and try another one of the types of classes that they offer. Thank you Red Run for a great experience!

He is extremely dedicated, personable, and very knowledgeable about the various exercise and weight training programs offered. I have back injuries from being rear-ended last year. So having modified workout options is important to me. He has been conscious of working around injuries and building muscle groups to prevent something much needed in my early 40s! He makes the workouts enjoyable, challenging, and rewarding. He also challenges me to assess all areas of my life, for the best possible outcomes (in a safe and nonjudgemental way). That means planning my workout objectives, looking at my eating habits as well the spiritual and mental aspects of my life- (because it all coincides)! He is also tremendously kind and responsive in our in-between communication and flexible! Grateful to have found Fit For Life and would recommend the investment.

He was extremely knowledgeable and very supportive. One of the most important qualities I look for in a trainer is how much he/she emphasizes on the execution of proper form and techniques. Ray focused a lot on that. He taught me that if you do not perform the workouts correctly, you are not getting the maximum effects and you are putting yourself at risk for injuries; therefore delaying your progress. Unfortunately, I moved to a different state a few years ago. Every year, I would come back to MD just to train with him for a week. Yes, you read that correctly! Yes, I come back to MD for the sole purpose of training with Ray Scott. He is that good! I'm sure I can find another trainer where I am. There's tons of them where I am. But there's no Ray Scott. Even though I don't train with Ray anymore since I'm 2,000 miles away, he still sends me a text every now and then to ask how my workouts are going and if I am eating properly. Once you are his client, no matter where you are, what you are doing, Ray will always be there for you supporting you 100%! I can guarantee you no one will invest in your physical fitness they way Ray does. He puts so much time and effort getting you to where you want to be. Your workouts will be tailored specifically to you so you will see results quickly but you will be safe and injury free. As long as you're honest with him, tell him your goals, your injuries if you have any, and everything will fall into place. Trust the process!

When I made my first appointment, I was told I would receive a follow-up call 7/1 one week before my appointment to confirm my insurance coverage and out-of-pocket cost. I didn't receive the call until 7/3, and I was told that my insurance would cover the visit. When I arrived for my appointment, I filled out the new patient forms and met with the nurse practitioner. The intake and assessment included logging my weight, blood pressure, and medical history. The NP overviewed the body composition report, asked if I have sleep issues, reviewed a list of weight loss medications to consider, and discussed goals (sleep 7-8 hours, add weight training, and keep a food diary for the nutritionist appointment). I told the NP I was not interested in taking medication for weight loss. After the assessment, I was guided to the front desk to make a nutritionist and NP follow-up appointments. I was told by the front desk clerk that there wasn't a nutritionist on location, and if I wanted to meet with the nutritionist before August, I would have to do a telehealth visit. While scheduling the appointments, the front desk clerk gave me two additional forms to fill out. These forms were not included in the original stack I filled out when I arrived. I was given a folder containing information I could easily find online and left the office. While reviewing the material in my car, it occurred to me that I wasn't given a tour of the facility. I returned to the office to ask questions about their on-site gym and asked more questions about the cost of the services. A third person (I assume an office manager) said they could not tell me the cost of my initial visit. I asked how much it would cost if I were uninsured. She stated that she could not give me that information because the cost differs between the insured and uninsured. Due to my insurance, I wanted to get an idea of how much my initial consultation would cost. She stated they bill each insurance company differently, so she could not give me an estimate of the cost. I continued to press the matter, and she gave me the billing office's phone number. Since no one in the office could give me a cost estimate, I canceled the nutritionist appointment until I could see how they would bill my insurance. This morning, I received a call from a pulmonary care and sleep medicine specialist in Towson. The caller stated she received a referral from my PCP and was calling to schedule an appointment for a sleep evaluation. This information was news to me. I asked the name of the doctor who sent the referral, and she named the NP I met with at CoreLife. There was no discussion about being referred to a sleep specialist during my initial visit. I immediately called the CoreLife office, asking to speak to the NP to find out why I was referred without my knowledge. I was told the NP was unavailable as she was with a patient. I gave my reason for calling and asked for a callback. The receptionist said she would pass along my message; however, the NP only takes appointments to discuss concerns. I canceled my follow-up appointment with the NP because this company is dishonest. I am writing this review to highlight the lack of transparency, questionable business practices, and rudeness I encountered in the Owings Mills office. Their primary service is administering weight loss medication, upselling personal training, and billing for follow-up visits with the NP to check vital signs while using the medication. Their website and social media marketing are misleading, failing to mention that patient success relies on taking weight loss medication. They claim to provide behavioral health clinicians, but the NP offered to give me a list of therapists, suggesting everyone could use therapy. There is no on-site nutritionist at the Owing Mills location, and the sad-looking gym is in a backroom in their office, which I had to ask to see as it was not included in the new patient orientation. My experience with this office and company leaves me feeling they prioritize medical billing over patient care. The attached photos show the unprofessional material given in my packet.

So I was supposed to meet with the dietitian the following week and because the office was fairly far away, I asked for a telephone appointment from the front desk employee. She told me as I was leaving that I would receive an email with a link to Google Meet and you had to put your appointment on the calendar, then go back into that email a week later on your appointment day to connect on Google Meet with the dietitian. I am almost eighty years old and didn't realize I would not simply receive a phone call from the dietitian, as all my other medical telephone appointments work. So when I didn't receive a call on my appointment day nine minutes after the scheduled start time, I phoned the company and was told it was ten minutes into the appointment and wouldn't be possible to proceed. She said I could be reschuled and suggested I come to the office the next time. A long story, short, it would be helpful if the company had the information about phone appointments via Google Meet in a handout so the client could, at their convenience, check it out, understand the process, and set it up. At almost eighty years of age, that would have been helpful and I'm sorry I lost the opportunity at the scheduled time to meet with the dietitian.
