It wasn't clear whether they were the staff member I was supposed to check in with or if I was supposed to wait. As a new member, I didn't know the procedure and was already a bit nervous. When I acknowledged them, I was met with a dismissive attitude and asked "what do you need?" in a way that felt irritated, as if I was bothering them. There was no greeting, no explanation, and no effort to make the situation clear or welcoming. For a first time visit, that interaction set a very negative tone. A simple "I'm on break" or "I can check you in quickly" would have made a huge difference. Instead, the experience felt confusing and unwelcoming. I had specifically pushed myself to come in despite feeling anxious about trying a new gym, and this interaction completely discouraged me. I told the front desk person that I would come back another day, but honestly this was enough for me. I left and called my insurance company to cancel my membership on the walk home. I'm so glad I was able to get a refund because I prepaid for 2 months. This place has such great reviews, but my nerves are too bad to be in unwelcoming spaces.

Choosing to work with Emily was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my fitness journey. Not only is she incredibly knowledgable about lifting, but she's also fun, patient, and encouraging! My form on all of my lifts (squat, deadlift, overhead press, and bench press) improved dramatically as a result of Emily's coaching. She pointed out corrections that I would have never noticed on my own. Her guidance gave me the knowledge and confidence to add some serious weight to my lifts and now I'm stronger than I have ever been in my life. I've been training consistently but had a very inconsistent deadlift and some chronic form problems on my squat and press. Craig fixed all of that in one private session. Worth the money. I usually go to the Strength & Conditioning classes and I like alternating between strength and cardio unlike OTF classes, where you are on the treadmill for 30 min. straight-through (which I think would be horrible for the knees after a while...). Paul is a really nice guy and seems to have a lot of integrity and I have liked the other instructors as well. I do hope they continue to grow and that they can offer additional classes at different times.

I stopped by but didn't get a tour since it was late. I did speak with Steve several times about my pain and history and what exactly we were going to do in the pool. We spoke several times and he was always professional, caring, honest and friendly. I'm planning on starting aquatic therapy before May. I can say I give Steve 5/5 after speaking with him. I'll post update after my first day of treatment.

She was very kind and helped talk me through my options and the investment. While $75 is steep in comparison to some of the otherwise more aesthetically pleasing places I've checked out, I love the variety of older school equipment available and the fact that it's lowkey enough for you to build confidence and grow. It is not quite what u saw advertised on their socials (might be their other location) but you weigh your pros and cons. Overall I had a good experience here and I would return.
